Abstract The article discusses the possibility of increasing the efficiency of seed drying using energy storage. The recommended modes of the drying process and the selection of the most effective modes to use in drying units are presented. A method of additional thermal radiation for a vacuum chamber using a phase change of the heat carrier is presented. The diagram of the energy storage process and the diagram of the process of using the stored energy are shown.

To reduce energy consumption and increase energy efficiency in the building sector, thermal energy storage with phase change materials (PCMs) is used. The knowledge of the thermophysical properties and the characteristics of PCMs (like their enthalpy changes and the distribution of stored energy over a specified temperature range) is essential for proper selection of the PCM and optimal design of the latent thermal energy store (LHTES). This paper presents experimental tests of the thermophysical properties of three medium-temperature PCMs: OM65, OM55, RT55, which can be used in domestic hot water installations and heating systems. Self-made test chambers with temperature control using Peltier cells were used to perform measurements according to the T-history method. In this way the temperature range of the phase transition, latent heat, specific heat capacity, enthalpy and the distributions of stored energy of the three PCMs were determined. The paper also presents measurements of the thermal conductivity of these PCMs in liquid and solid state using a self-made pipe Poensgen apparatus. The presented experimental tests results are in good agreement with the manufacturers’ data and the results of other researchers obtained with the use of specialized instruments. The presented research results are intended to help designers in the selection of the right PCM for the future LHTES co-working with renewable energy systems, waste heat recovery systems and building heating systems.

HVAC equipment is very concerned in the current equipment operation process. Its safety, reliability and comfort will have a greater impact on the production and life of common people. In some projects, there are some problems in the installation of HVAC equipment, such as imperfect installation scheme, low installation quality and random selection of equipment parameters. These seriously affect the normal operation of the equipment, and it is not easy to achieve energy saving of HVAC equipment. In the future installation of HVAC equipment, it is necessary to continuously optimize the HVAC equipment installation system, fully compare the reliability and feasibility of the equipment installation scheme, and strengthen the application of energy-saving technology of HVAC equipment. In this way, the use cost of the equipment can be reduced and the comprehensive quality of the equipment can be improved. Therefore, this paper discusses this further and puts forward reasonable suggestions.

In the pressure of excessive resource consumption and serious environmental pollution, government in China proposed a dual-credit policy to promote the production of green vehicles, such as energy-saving fuel vehicle (FV) and electric vehicle (EV). This study explores the firm’s selection of green technology innovations (GTIs) under dual-credit policy, including the energy-saving technology for FV and the technology for producing EV. We found that the firm’s technology capacity of improving the energy-saving level of FV plays an important role in affecting the firm’s selections of GTIs. Specifically, when the technology capacity is moderate, the firm chooses both types of GTIs to produce both EV and energy-saving FV, otherwise he will choose one type only. Moreover, no matter which GTI is selected by the firm, its pricing and environmental efforts decisions keep the same. With the dual-credit policy, we found that it could encourage the production of the EV under certain conditions. Besides this, increasing the green credit of EV can align the economic and environmental interests while increasing standard energy consumption has conflicts in both interests. In particular, when the firm offers FV only or both EV and FV, increasing the price of credit has conflicting interests in economy and environment. However, when the firm offers EV only, increasing the price of credit could improve the firm’s profit without hurting the environment.
