Abstract Background This study's goal was to design and validate questionnaires for using to distinguish PEN-3 cultural model determinant factors of exercise in pregnant women. A questionnaire of physical activity theory-based was performed in 400 pregnant women with the first pregnancy. The validation of questionnaire design was used to develop the measures, including validity, reliability, and factor analysis by correlating scores to be an exercise of pregnant women during pregnancy. MethodsThe perception scale contained two factors: Knowledge and attitudes The Nurtures scale contained one element: Support was sought. The Enabling level included one element: barriers. Coefficients of reliability ranged from within 0.99. Among the four scores, significant correlations were achieved in this study. Four scales to measure PEN-3 cultural model determinants factors of being active during pregnancy were reformed for utilization with country, mostly Tehran-Iran, pregnant women, and shown to be validity and reliability. ResultsFactor analysis resulted in interpretable subclass that may be used as variables. These preliminary results provide support; for using the scales to measure the influences on pregnant women's physical activity. ConclusionsThe Physical Activity Questionnaire for pregnant women Patients (PA2Q-PW) is the first instrument that uses the PEN-3 cultural model within its constructs. The results indicated that PA2Q-PW is a valid and reliable instrument for assessing physical activity perceptions and is now existing and can be used in future studies.

The 10-item Behavior Assessment Questionnaire (BAQ) was developed to assess parent-report of child screen time, physical activity, and food consumption during the past 3 months in children with obesity. Response options were on a 5-point scale, converted to 0-100, with higher scores indicating healthier behavior. To evaluate, two convenience samples of parents of children 5-18 years completed the questionnaire: a cohort presenting to an obesity program (n=83) and a cohort of community events attenders and hospital employee parents (n=147). Scores had a normal distribution without floor or ceiling effects. Cronbach's alpha for the 10-item scale was .71. Factor analysis yielded three component factors with Cronbach's alpha of .66, .75, and .59 for the Screen Time, Physical Activity, and Food Consumption dimensions respectively. Scores of the obesity group (49.02 [SD 14.52]) were lower than scores of the community group (55.44 [SD 13.55]), p=.001. The BAQ demonstrated reliability and validity for use as an index of lifestyle behaviors.

ABSTRACT The sensory profile, referring to sight, smell, taste, hearing, and touch, plays an essential role in optimizing the habitual intake of energy and macronutrients. However, specific populations, such as older adults, are known to have impaired energy intake. In this paper, the relevance of sensory impairments in this older population is described, and the extent to which nutritional and physical activity interventions can modulate these sensory responses when food intake is insufficient is explored. With aging, all senses deteriorate, and in most cases, such deteriorations diminish the nutritional response. The only exception is sight, for which both positive and negative impacts on nutritional response have been reported. From a prevention perspective, nutritional interventions have been understudied, and to date, only hearing is known to be positively affected by a good nutritional profile. In comparison, physical activity has been more frequently studied in this context, and is linked to an improved preservation of 4 senses. Regarding treatment, very few studies have directly targeted sensory training, and the focus of research has tended to be on nutrition and physical activity intervention. Sensory training, and nutritional and physical activity treatments all have beneficial effects on the senses. In the future, researchers should focus on exploring gaps in the literature specifically concerning prevention, treatment, and sensory response to understand how to improve the efficacy of current approaches. In order to maintain sensory acuity and recover from sensory impairment, the current state of knowledge supports the importance of improving nutritional habits as well as physical activity early on in life. A combined approach, linking a detailed lifestyle profile with the assessment of numerous senses and one or more interventional approaches (nutrition, physical activity, sensory training, etc.), would be required to identify effective strategies to improve the nutritional state of older individuals.
