The Republic of Georgia (ROG) has the highest incidence of botulism among all countries in the world, with most cases attributed to home-preserved vegetables. Based on epidemiologic data, the occurrence of botulism in ROG is lower in areas where aspirin (active ingredient, acetylsalicylic acid [ASA]) is added to home-canned vegetables. The objective of this study was to evaluate, with a broth medium, the antibotulinal activity of ASA to determine the possible role of ASA in preventing botulinum toxin production in home-canned vegetables. Trypticase-peptone-glucose-yeast (TPGY) broth (pH 7.0) with 0, 0.3, and 0.6 mg of ASA per ml was inoculated with a 10-strain mixture of proteolytic Clostridium botulinum type A and B spores at ca. 103 spores per ml. The inoculated broths were incubated at 31°C under anaerobic conditions, and C. botulinum growth and botulinum toxin production were determined for up to 36 h. Results showed ASA in broth delayed (time to initial detectable toxin produced and amount of toxin produced), but did not prevent, both growth and toxin production by C. botulinum. These results would not provide a definitive explanation for differences in toxin production in canned vegetables prepared with and without aspirin.

Abstract Nowadays, thanks to greater awareness of society and development of restorative medicine, more and more attention is paid to preventive care. That is caused by the fact that there is little progress for both sexes in the frequency of healthy behavior: girls fall much worse than boys in terms of frequency of physical activity, they do not eat breakfast either; boys do not maintain a healthy diet and are reluctant to eat vegetables and fruits, they often drink high-calorie sodas and less frequently brush teeth. Though with age some improvements in oral hygiene and certain eating behaviors can be noticed. It has been determined that overweight and obesity is a serious problem, as they can contribute to developmental disorders. In this respect it should be the responsibility of teachers to provide individual physical education (according to medical qualifications), prevent various forms of discrimination and bullying among peers, provide individual counseling and health education, weight control of students. It has been defined that for modern teachers it is a difficult task as students rarely eat fruits and vegetables, do not care about hygiene and frequency of meals, have passive mode of leisure. The acquisition of health during puberty allows functioning smoothly in society. However, despite the continuous work on improving and introduction of new programs of health education classes into schools of Poland, children still suffer from health-related problems. According to epidemiological research most of children in Poland fall on obesity, overweight and accompanying disorders and allergies. Youth is also exposed to accidents and related injuries. The problem is that students do not receive assistance and necessary information.

<em>The agricultural sector</em><em> is a strategic sector in Manokwari regency. The agricultural sector provides a major contribution in the regional economy, an economic base of rural people, dominate the life of most residents in this region and provider of food and raw materials for other sectors. The purpose of this study was to determine how big the contribution of different sub-sectors that exist in the agricultural sector, which analyzes sectors influential in changing the economic structure of agriculture in the area and know the potential commodities that can be developed in an effort to enhance the role of the agricultural sector. The research method used through literature study and analysis of secondary data sourced from the relevant authorities. To find out how big the factors that influence changes in economic structures of domination of the agricultural sector into non-agricultural sector estimates used Ordinary Least Square (OLS). For the determination of the potential commodities that can be seeded used method approach Location Quotient (LQ). The results showed the greatest contribution of the different sub-sectors within the agricultural sector contained in the food crops sub-sector. Based on the rate of growth per year, plantation crops sub-sector occupied the highest positions. The sectors that provide real impact on the agricultural sector's contribution to the regional gross domestic product �of the building sector and services sector. Potential commodities that can be developed in different areas in Manokwari regency include food crops and pulses, vegetables and fruits and livestock including cows, goats, pigs and chicken.</em>

Intention of� this research� is to determine of� agriculture prime commodities of South Buru Regency. The observation was focussed to know potensial area to development agriculture harvesting/cattle.� This paper aims to examine the implementation of LQ approach uses wide of �agriculture harvesting/cattle population series data for five year period (2005-2009) from South Buru Regency as main source. The result of study showed that there was most of sub regency in South Buru regency have the same of prime commodities, and several sub regency have specific prime commodities. The number of prime commodities to the sub sector food crop agriculture are 6, prime commodities to sub sector vegetables and fruits planting are 18, prime commodities to the sub sector tree crop planting are 5� and prime commodities to sub sector husbandry /breeding are 5 commodities.
