Improving students' quality of life has become a major concern for educational institutions. Using a sample of 442 university students in the capital of the State of São Paulo, this study investigates the moderating role of social support in the relationship between burnout and academic motivation. Students in our sample completed questionnaires designed to assess their perceived social support, academic motivation and burnout. The results of the analysis of the structural model suggest that social support moderates the relationship between burnout and academic motivation

The study was designed with the objective to examine the perceived social support (PSS) as a moderator between parental perceived stress (PPS) and quality of life (QOL) among parents having children with special needs. A sample of 300 parents was selected through purposive sampling from special education schools and health care centres of Lalamusa, Kharian, Gujrat and Gujranwala, Pakistan. Parental Perceived Stress Scale (PPSS), MultiDimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MDSPSS) and quality of life was measured through the Urdu version of the Quality of Life Questionnaire (Parent Version of QOLA) were administered to collect the data. Findings illustrated that PPS, QOL and PSS had statistically significant relationships (p < .001) with each other. Further, PPS is a significant moderator between PPS and QOL among targeted parents. On the basis of findings, it is concluded that there is an intense need of providing awareness and social support to empower parents for coping with stresses.

Background. The quality of life in patients suffering from aphasia, survivors of a stroke, is considerably lower compared to patients who have suffered from other types of stroke. In order to observe the changes that occur at a psychological level in patients suffering from aphasia, it is necessary to investigate the relationship between quality of life and their social reintegration. Objectives. This cross-sectional research aims to identify those elements of quality of life that can enhance a healthy and stable social reintegration over time in patients suffering from aphasia. Materials and methods. The research was performed on a sample of 103 patients suffering from aphasia. Participants answered four questionnaires: Stroke and Aphasia Quality of Life Scale-39 (SAQOL-39), The Community Integration Questionnaire Revisited (CIQ), Perceived Social Support Questionnaire (F-SozU) and Perceived Social Support - Family Form (PSS- Fa). The data were processed via SPSS V28 and Process V3.5. Results. The quality of life is a statistically significant predictor for the social reintegration of patients suffering from aphasia. Gender and family support were not found to be significant moderators of the relationship between quality of life and social reintegration. Social support was found to be a statistically insignificant mediator in the relationship between quality of life and social reintegration of patients suffering from aphasia.

This study examined the mediation role of perceived social support in the association between hope and health-related quality of life with coronavirus anxiety in the elderly. The research was conducted by descriptive method with a structural equations design. The population included all the over-60 elderly individuals residing in Sanandaj city, Iran, in 2021. Among them, 220 individuals were selected through available sampling method. To gather the data, the questionnaires of coronavirus anxiety, perceived social support, hope and health-related quality of life were used. Data analysis was conducted by using structural equations modeling and via SPSSv23 and AMOSv26 software. Data analysis indicated that there is a significant and negative relationship between hope, health-related quality of life, and perceived coronavirus anxiety among the elderly. Moreover, perceived social support plays a mediating role in the relationship of both hope and health-related quality of life with coronavirus anxiety. The present study provided an important insight regarding the mediating role of perceived social support in the relationship of hope and health-related quality of life with coronavirus anxiety the elderly. Through creating programs to hold suitable interventions for improving perceived social support, the COVID-19–related anxiety can be reduced during its prevalence.
