Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris is an important bacterial pathogen that causes black rot and brings about enormous production loss for cruciferous vegetables worldwide. Currently, genome sequences for only a few X. campestris pv. campestris isolates are available, most of which are draft sequences. Based on the next-generation sequencing and single-molecule sequencing in real time technologies, we present here the complete genome sequence of strain WHRI 3811 race 1 of X. campestris pv. campestris, which is a type strain that has been extensively used. The genome data will contribute to our understanding of X. campestris pv. campestris genomic features and pave the way for research on X. campestris pv. campestris–host interactions.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the complete 5.3-Mb genome sequence of Xanthomonas campestris pv. viticola (CCRMXCV 80), which causes grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) bacterial canker. Genome data will improve our understanding of the strain’s comparative genomics and epidemiology, and help to further define plant protection and quarantine procedures.

Mycobacterium avium is an important pathogenic bacterium in birds and has never, to our knowledge, reported to be isolated from domestic ducks. We present here the complete genome sequence of a virulent strain of Mycobacterium avium , isolated from domestic Pekin ducks for the first time, which was determined by PacBio single-molecule real-time technology.

We report here the near-complete genome sequence of “Candidatus Spirobacillus cienkowskii,” a spiral-shaped, red-pigmented uncultivated bacterial pathogen of Daphnia spp. The genome is 2.74 Mbp in size, has a GC content of 32.1%, and contains genes associated with bacterial motility and the production of carotenoids, which could explain the distinctive red color of hosts infected with this pathogen.

Citricoccus sp. strain SGAir0253 was isolated from indoor air collected in Singapore. Its genome sequence was assembled using single-molecule real-time sequencing. It comprises one chromosome of 3.32 Mb and two plasmids of 137 kb and 99 kb. The genome consists of 2,950 protein-coding genes, 49 tRNAs, and 9 rRNAs.

Lactobacillus salivarius LPM01 (DSM 22150) is a probiotic strain able to improve health status in immunocompromised people. Here, we report its complete genome sequence deciphered by PacBio single-molecule real-time (SMRT) technology. Analysis of the sequence may provide insights into its functional activity and safety assessment.

ABSTRACT Ichthyobacterium seriolicida is a fish bacterial pathogen that causes hemolytic jaundice in farmed yellowtail in Japan. To understand more about the characteristics of this bacterium, we determined its complete genome sequence. Two hemolysin genes which may be important for its pathogenicity were identified in the I. seriolicida genome.
