The interaction between the individual and the environment has a strategic significance for welfare purposes and shows the importance of the bilateral nature of the relationship. It highlights how promoting health means acting on the environment and on the individual. In terms of health education, for health workers it is no longer a question of intervening from the outside on behavior, but of inserting themselves into situations, in the processes of interaction, as active protagonists of a complex system. This orientation of the health system requires a reinterpretation of the role of operators, through the adoption of the participatory planning method, which requires interpreting one's work as a problem solving process. To get to the solution of the problems it is necessary to identify the elements of difficulty that the patient encounters, thus adopting methodologies that allow for an exchange relationship. Nurses, in all health systems, have a privileged position due to the capillarity of their action, inherent in the “to care” of nursing care, and of their contacts with citizens and clients. In particular towards the patient he teaches the correct assistance maneuvers and the most appropriate attitudes to be adopted to favor the change of behaviors and the achievement of awareness of a new state of health and a new degree of autonomy. The most suitable educational method that should be used by the nurse in the path of therapeutic education, is to link learning to action, in clinical practice, alongside the patient, promoting healthy lifestyles and the dissemination of a culture of health. Educational intervention aims at personalizing care and can improve health status and reduce healthcare costs. Alongside the ethical value and professional duty, it is necessary to use methodologies, techniques and methods to provide a structured set of specific information, with a simple and understandable language, speaking.

One of the government's efforts in empowering the community to reduce infant and under-five mortality rates, and improve health status in the community is to optimize the role of cadres in society. Thus, it is necessary to have activities that can increase the knowledge, attitudes and actions of cadres in monitoring infant growth, especially in filling out the Towards Healthy Card (KMS) chart. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge, attitudes, and actions of cadres in filling out KMS charts for early detection of malnutrition and stunting. The target of this community service activity was posyandu cadres in the Kayamanya Health Center Work Area, Poso Kota District. The service method was carried out in several stages (1) pre-test before mentoring; (2) presentation of material on anthropometric measurements and filling out KMS charts; (3) exercise and practice of anthropometric measurements and chart filling; and (4) post-test after mentoring. This activity resulted in an increase in the average score of knowledge, attitudes and actions of cadres after being given assistance to cadres.

AbstractMany recent studies have shown that the gut microbiome plays important roles in human physiology and pathology. Also, microbiome-based therapies have been used to improve health status and treat diseases. In addition, aging and neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease, have become topics of intense interest in biomedical research. Several researchers have explored the links between these topics to study the potential pathogenic or therapeutic effects of intestinal microbiota in disease. But the exact relationship between neurodegenerative diseases and gut microbiota remains unclear. As technology advances, new techniques for studying the microbiome will be developed and refined, and the relationship between diseases and gut microbiota will be revealed. This article summarizes the known interactions between the gut microbiome and neurodegenerative diseases, highlighting assay techniques for the gut microbiome, and we also discuss the potential therapeutic role of microbiome-based therapies in diseases.

Spray-dried animal plasma (SDAP) is widely used in diets of domestic animals to improve health status and increase growth and feed efficiency. Individual steps in the SDAP manufacturing process, including spray-drying, have been validated to inactivate potential pathogens. Manufacturing standards have established a minimum exit temperature of 80°C and a minimum post-drying storage period of 14 days at 20°C for production of SDAP. Also, UV-C irradiation has been evaluated as another inactivation step that could be included in the manufacturing process. The aim of this study was to assess the inactivation effectiveness of spray-drying on Classical swine fever virus (CSFV) and African swine fever virus (ASFV) and the effect of UV-C inactivation on ASFV as redundant biosafety steps of the manufacturing process for producing spray-dried porcine plasma (SDPP). This study demonstrated that UV-C treatment of liquid porcine plasma can inactivate more than 4 Log10 TCID50/mL of ASFV at 3000 J/L. Spray-drying effectively inactivated at least 4 Log10 TCID50/mL of both CSFV and ASFV. Incorporating UV-C technology within the SDAP manufacturing process can add another biosafety step to further enhance product safety.

The aim of this study was to analyze the association between physical activity and eating habits during the COVID-19 pandemic among Brazilian adults. A sample of 1,929 participants answered an online survey, however 1,874 were included in the analysis. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on eating habits was assessed inquiring about participants' intake of fruits, vegetables, fried foods, and sweets during the pandemic. Physical activity was assessed by asking participants about their weekly frequency, intensity and number of minutes/hours engaging in structured physical activities per week. Participants were then stratified into categories based on moderate-to-vigorous intensity (0–30; 31–90; 91–150; 151–300; and >300 min/week) and into active (≥150 min) or inactive (<150 min). Increased sweets consumption was the most commonly reported change to eating habits (42.5%), followed by an increase in the consumption of vegetables (26.6%), fruits (25.9%), and fried foods (17.9%). Physical activity practice was related to lower consumption of fried foods (OR = 0.60; p < 0.001) and sweets (OR = 0.53; p < 0.001). A cluster analysis revealed subjects with higher the level of physical activity was more likely to follow a healthy diet (p < 0.001). Thus, physical activity was positively associated with healthier eating habits. Health authorities must recommend regular physical as a strategy to improve overall health during the COVID-19 pandemic. Future studies should address the physical activity interventions to improve health status during a pandemic.
