For improving reliable operation of switchgear in power system, an approach for on-line monitoring the insulation characteristic and bus-bar temperature rising of the switchgear is proposed in this paper. Through comparing several existing temperature measurement methods for monitoring temperature rising elevation at bus-bas, a new design of temperature monitoring method is proposed. It adopts quick-magnetic saturated current transformer, temperature sensor and infrared transmission to solve the problem of high voltage isolation. The epoxy resin insulation material which is commonly used in switchgear its aging mechanism data is not complete, seriously restrict on-line monitoring for switchgear, so thousands hours of aging experiment is done on switchgear, systematic study various electrical characteristics variation law on the gradual aging process of epoxy resin insulation materials. Therefore, study on the aging characteristics of switchgearinsulation and its lifetime estimation method is the key technology to understand agingmechanism better, search for new fault diagnostic method and the way to extend theuseful lifetime of switchgear. At last, the system runs in real system and the result shows the on-line monitoring system is stable and reliable which can be provide reference for on-line monitoring system design of switchgear.

Machining process monitoring method is developed for detecting and diagnosis of the presence of chips at the toolholder-spindle interface. Although toolholders can be simply balanced before they are placed in the spindle, there can be some balancing problems remaining when one or more loose machining chips are attached at the toolholder-spindle interface(s) during a tool change. A method is developed by considering the natural and geometric unbalances of the toolholder-spindle system combined with an analysis of the toolholder tilt due to the presence of loose machining chips around the spindle. The method can be integrated on-line as a real-time expert diagnostic system for toolholder tilt due to the presence of loose machining chips at the spindle nose. The expert diagnostic system makes intelligent decisions on toolholder unbalance and concerns with chips at the interface that result in unwanted tilting and vibrations. The tool unbalance algorithm was able to monitor the toolholder tilting according to the results of this study.

In this paper, there are two kinds of material (cermet and cemented carbide) to be used. Different grinding conditions were performed for evaluation of RMS of acoustic emission(AE) signals and understanding the effect of each grinding parameter on AE RMS during grinding process. A kind of on-line monitoring method based on wavelet analysis and acoustic emission was raised and the nonlinear relation model between AE RMS,wavelet energy coefficients and wheel passivation state was built. During the process, the wavelet analysis method was used to decompose the original signals for extracting wavelet energy coefficients. The results of experiments indicates that AE RMS increases with increasing table speed; The corresponding relation between AE RMS and table speed is good and could take the table speed as the main parameter for studying wheel passivation state. As a result, the nonlinear relation model can monitor the wheel passivation degree on-line accurately through training. This provides a kind of viable method which has very high practical value for confirming the wheel dressing cycle.

This paper proposes a on-line thickness measurement scheme of thin film based on the capacitance thickness sensor and introduces the composition and principle of thickness measurement system. Then it further states the principle and simulation of the RBF neural network, which can effectively predict the thickness deviation of thin film by setting the appropriate parameters. The monitoring method based on the RBF neural network will reduce production cost and make the film thickness uniformity better, combining the traditional film production line with an new idea of controlling the opening degree of wind ring.

When the overhead transmission line is galloping, a variety of natural disasters occur on the role of the natural conditions, the vibration of conductor is one of the more serious harm to the power system. Over the past decade, as the construction of EHV and UHV, wire cross-section, tension, suspension height and span of overhead transmission lines are increasing, and hence the number of conductor vibration is significantly increased. Vibration in a large scale will led to frequent tripping or even broken line or tower collapses, which cause large area power failures and impact security and stability operation. Online monitoring method for overhead transmission line dancing is mostly needed to add additional equipment, however, once situated on the route environment overlying ice or high winds and other inclement weather, online monitoring is difficult to achieve. This paper presents a method, which is made correlation analysis based on the voltage and current acquired from both ends of the transmission lines, online monitoring of line galloping can be achieved.
