AbstractNon-rigid structure from motion (nrsfm), is a long standing and central problem in computer vision and its solution is necessary for obtaining 3D information from multiple images when the scene is dynamic. A main issue regarding the further development of this important computer vision topic, is the lack of high quality data sets. We here address this issue by presenting a data set created for this purpose, which is made publicly available, and considerably larger than the previous state of the art. To validate the applicability of this data set, and provide an investigation into the state of the art of nrsfm, including potential directions forward, we here present a benchmark and a scrupulous evaluation using this data set. This benchmark evaluates 18 different methods with available code that reasonably spans the state of the art in sparse nrsfm. This new public data set and evaluation protocol will provide benchmark tools for further development in this challenging field.

Dihydroazulene (DHA)–vinylheptafulvene (VHF) photoswitches have attracted attention as potentially useful components in molecular electronics. The π-conjugated dihydroazulene system is a rigid structure and can be strategically functionalised to place handles for further elaboration. Here we show that alkyne-functionalised dihydroazulenes can be subjected to copper and ruthenium catalysed azide–alkyne cycloadditions (CuAAC and RuAAC) with tolylazide, furnishing 1,4- and 1,5-disubstituted triazoles. The rates of ring-closure of the corresponding vinylheptafulvenes were compared with those of reference systems, which allowed determination of Hammett substituent constants (meta and para) for N-tolyl-substituted 1,2,3-triazoles.

Dioctophymosis is a worldwide renal parasitosis caused by the Dioctophyma renale nematode, which results in progressive destruction of renal tissue. Aquatics annelids are considered the main intermediate hosts and the literature refers as permanent hosts of dogs, wild mammals and even humans. During procedures for population control of coatis (Nasua nasua) in the Ecological Park of Tietê (PET), was noticed the presence of parasitosis by D. renale. From 68 animals, males and females, young and adults, submitted to exploratory laparotomy, 51 were positive for the presence of worms, 9 were found only in the right kidney. In 10 cases, in addition to right kidney parasitism, worms were also observed in the abdominal cavity. In 24 cases D. renale was found only in the abdominal cavity and in 8 animals the right kidney was reduced to a small rigid structure. The study showed that the preferred site for parasitism of the worm, considered erratic, was the abdominal cavity in 66.66% of the cases.

The surface shape of structure plane is closely related with its mechanics property. Precise measurement to the surface shape of structure plane is the basis of deformation mechanism and strength characteristics. On the basis of studying advantages and disadvantages of the measuring instrument, the author has developed a new kind of portable measuring instruments innovatively - Contact Punching Device which has improved open-air working efficiency greatly. Application results show that JRC obtained by the Contact Punching Device is very close to the actual JRC of surface shape of the structure plane. Then about size effect of rigid structure plane, got the following principle that the statistical variance of the undulating roughness of the structure surface decays gradually with length of the rock sample, and got the limiting length of the undulating roughness when the influence of shearing intensity of the structure is dispelled. Finally, which proved through the embodiment of different rock and different weathering rock, the result indicates this method can be applied to engineering.

The purpose of this article is to identify possible approaches to the development of the “sustainability-by-design” process, which consists in synchronizing the organization's strategy with the trends of sustainable development. For this purpose, a process of “sustainability-by-design” is proposed on the basis of the “safety-by-design” process applied in practice. As a key link in the process, it is proposed to use a system of sustainability indicators, supplemented by indicators of risk and resilience. To strengthen the adaptive capacity of companies in the field of sustainable development, the process of building “sustainability-by-design” is complemented by the inclusion of democratic procedures through structured stakeholder participation. As a result, the proposed process combines a rigid structure of values and goals with a “soft setup” in the form of democratic procedures. This will allow companies not only to reduce the uncertainties inherent to the pacing problem, but also to create an environment for the promotion of the most effective alternatives to the development of companies in the field of sustainability.
