An open-end winding permanent magnet synchronous motor (OW-PMSM) fed by dual inverter is a competitive option for the drive system of dual power electric vehicles. It allows manageable power flow between two isolated power sources through the motor without requiring a DC/DC converter. Based on the mathematical model of the OW-PMSM and the principles of power sharing, this paper first compares the power sharing capacity among some existing torque regulation algorithms, including unit power factor (UPF) control, maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) control, and constant back electromotive force (CBE) control. Then a control algorithm named minimum voltage vector amplitude (MVVA) is presented, which features covering the maximum motor operating range and the maximum power sharing range under the linear voltage vector distribution. Simulation results confirm the validity of the proposed MVVA control, and demonstrate its advantages in vehicular applications.

The common-mode voltage (CMV) generated by the switching operation of the pulse width modulation (PWM) inverter leads to bearing failure and electromagnetic interference (EMI) noises. To reduce the CMV, it is necessary to reduce the magnitude of dv/dt and change the frequency of the CMV. In this paper, the range of the CMV is reduced by using opposite triangle carrier for ABC and XYZ winding group, and the change in frequency in the CMV is reduced by equalizing the dwell time of the zero voltage vector on ABC and XYZ winding group of dual three phase motor.

Systems with large variable delay, traditional control methods can’t performance well. In this paper, a controller combined with the human-simulated intelligent controller (HSIC) and newly dynamic anti-saturation integral controller, is used in the time-varying delay motor speed control. Simulation studies show, there is no chatter in this controller which is always in norm variable structure controller and this method reaches good performance in the time-varying delay system.
