Pipeline transportation is the most important transport mode for crude oil. When oil pipeline operates at low throughput or shutdown, congelation accident always happen as the temperature of oil in pipeline drops, which causes malignant accidents and significant financial losses. Study of the various factors affecting congelation failure is necessary. According to the statistics and analysis of congelation accident, direct and indirect reasons of affecting pipeline congelation failure were determined. Combining with fuzzy comprehensive assessment method, the related importance of factors on congelation accident was studied, and the grade of factors affecting failure congelation of pipeline was also identified. Aiming at the factors, some improvement measures were put forward. These can provide evidences for accident treatment, planned maintenance, security operation and scientific management.

As the temperature reduces in heated waxy oil pipeline, wax crystal continues to precipitate. The wax sediment reduces the pipeline transmission capacity, increases the friction resistance and raises power consumption. To restore the pipeline transmission capacity and ensure the safety operation of pipeline, regular wax removing is needed. Taking the transition of flow states into consideration, different formulas of temperature and friction drop under different flow states are applied. Wax precipitation and running cost corresponding to different flow states are obtained, and the best pigging circle is determined. Finally, the effect of different flow states on temperature drop, pressure drop and pigging circle of heated waxy oil pipeline is analyzed.

The paper analyses the development of the Bratislava–Schwechat Pipeline, which is supposed to connect the Slovak and Austrian oil pipeline networks. The research question asks why the project is being developed without taking into account arguments concerning environmental security even though rather significant environmental opposition to the pipeline has arisen. While the proponents of the project stress mainly its importance for the fostering of Slovak energy security, its opponents claim that the pipeline will endanger the current level of environmental security, since it presents a risk to Slovak fresh water reservoirs. In line with the theoretical approach, the paper argues that the conflict between these two types of security is positively skewed towards energy security, because its proponents are able to support their argumentation with concrete evidence. Moreover, advantages from improvements in energy security are visible in the short-term. On the other hand, the possible future negative environmental impacts of the pipeline are not so easy to assess (or quantify) and are of a long-term nature. The analysis also shows that due to the lack of activity of the Slovak Ministry of the Environment, a non-governmental organization Nie ropovodu (No to the pipeline) has become the main proponent of environmental security through the preparation phase of the project.

Practical Method for Numerical Evaluation of Parameters of Pool Fires in Oil Pipeline NetworksThis paper presents a method for numerical evaluation of parameters of flammable liquid pool fires caused by storage tank or pipeline failures. The method may be useful for specialists working in oil and gas, and chemical industries. It was successfully applied in fire safety analysis of Russian gas and oil processing facilities.

The article presents a solution to the problem of choosing the brand composition of truck tractors for the recruitment of transport divisions of oil pipeline enterprises. The main task of transport departments is to meet the needs of the main production. The equipment is operated under harsh conditions, as well as after the end of the regulatory period of use and needs to be updated quickly. Despite the timely maintenance and repair of freight rolling stock, frequent failures and increasing repair costs make further operation economically inefficient. When updating the fleet of vehicles, there is a problem in choosing the best in terms of the technical characteristics of the vehicle, but at the minimum cost. The purpose of the study is to optimize the costs of acquiring and operating special equipment of Transneft-Siberia JSC by developing a methodology for determining the rational grade composition of truck tractors. According to the a priori ranking method, the opinion of specialists and heads of transport divisions of Transneft-Siberia JSC was determined. For the study, the most popular brands of truck tractors of domestic and foreign production were chosen. As a result of the survey, the ranks of operational indicators of truck tractors and their weight are determined by the reverse ratio. The most signifi¬cant indicator as a result of a priori ranking is the cost of one unit of the vehicle. Integral coefficient components calculated relative to average value of each indicator are identified for each indicator. As a result of the study, it was revealed that for the renewal of the fleet of truck tractors, it is advisable to give preference mainly to foreign manufacturers. The integral factor, taking into account the weight of operational parameters, makes it possible to objectively evaluate the quality of truck tractors. The method of determining the integral coefficient is proposed, when using which it is possible to reduce the cost of acquiring and operating vehicles with an increase in the development of special equipment. Further areas of research are determination of integral factors for the fleet, including technological transport, as well as determination of the optimal nomenclature of special equipment for transport divisions of oil pipeline industry enterprises.
