In response to the climate change, it has been becoming the consensus of most countries in the world to accelerate the development of a high proportion of clean energy. The power grid is the core to support the development of a high proportion of clean energy, and the key is to accelerate the construction of clean power grids. This paper focuses on the main characteristics of clean power grid construction, and proposes a set of clean power grid development evaluation indicators including 5 first-level indicators and 19 second-level indicators and an analysis method based on radar charts. Taking China Power Grid as an example, this paper analyzes in detail the characteristics of the medium and long-term development mode of clean power grids and the relative change trends of specific indicators, and discusses the key links and potential problems that need attention in the development of clean power grids.

Body Sensor Networks (BSNs) are formed by the equipped or transplanted sensors in the human body, which can sense the physiology and environment parameters. As a novel e-health technology, BSNs promote the deployment of innovative healthcare monitoring applications. In the past few years, most of the related research works have focused on sensor design, signal processing, and communication protocol. This chapter addresses the problem of system design and data fusion technology over a bandwidth and energy constrained body sensor network. Compared with the traditional sensor network, miniaturization and low-power are more important to meet the requirements to facilitate wearing and long-running operation. As there are strong correlations between sensory data collected from different sensors, data fusion is employed to reduce the redundant data and the load in body sensor networks. To accomplish the complex task, more than one kind of node must be equipped or transplanted to monitor multi-targets, which makes the fusion process become sophisticated. In this chapter, a new BSNs system is designed to complete online diagnosis function. Based on the principle of data fusion in BSNs, we measure and investigate its performance in the efficiency of saving energy. Furthermore, the authors discuss the detection and rectification of errors in sensory data. Then a data evaluation method based on Bayesian estimation is proposed. Finally, the authors verify the performance of the designed system and the validity of the proposed data evaluation method. The chapter is concluded by identifying some open research issues on this topic.

China’s achievements in climate change and clean energy have been recognized by the international community. Although China has achieved successes in the field of clean energy, especially clean power dispatch, power dispatch is still one-sided and incomplete when considering environmental aspects. This paper presents a comprehensive production cleanliness evaluation model to assign a comprehensive environmental value as a reference for clean power dispatch. The model considers all the pollutants currently regulated in China’s coal-fired power plants, carbon emissions, and sustainability as three basic environmental constraints. Then, emergy analysis is used to unify the input/output materials with different units of measurement, and the emergy-based environmental value added (EEVA) value is constructed. As an integrated environmental value, the EEVA can provide an environmental reference for clean power dispatch. Finally, we selected a representative coal-fired power plant in China as a case study. By applying the above model, the dispatching sequence for four generating units was arranged from the perspective of cleanliness.
