The research of high-speed railway running economic benefit is important to timely know well the train operation state for the railway administration. A prediction model of high-speed railway running economic benefit is proposed in this article based on Gray model. The Gray model is a good example to make accurate prediction of the development of matters. According to the data analysis of Beijing and Shanghai railway stations, we can know that the result of prediction model is accurate, so the prediction based on Gray model is scientific and reasonable in the practical application.

This paper illustrates how the Analytic Guiding Frame (AGF) and the Overall Guiding Frame (OGF) are applied when analytic shifts occur in qualitative data analysis. Analytic shifts mainly occur when a proposed analytical method is found to be not fully amenable for analysis because of the contextually-bound nature of qualitative data. In this paper, the illustration located in the field of literacy education revolves around how a methodological and analytical problem was confronted during the fieldwork/analysis stage of research and how analytic negotiations were made with the help of the AGF/OGF framework. From here, it is proposed that much more consideration on matters of epistemology, methodology, research objective and research questions in qualitative research must be made when the iterative process of qualitative data analysis takes place.

In this paper a comparative, coarse grained, entropy data analysis of multi-scale log-returns distribution, produced by an ideal “optimal trader” and one thousand “noise traders” performing “bucket shop” trading, by following four different financial daily indices, is presented. A sole optimal trader is assigned to each one of these four analyzed markets, DJIA, IPC, Nikkei and DAX. Distribution of differential entropies of the corresponding multi-scale log-returns of the optimal and noise traders are calculated. Kullback-Leiber distances between the different optimal traders returns distributions are also calculated and results discussed. We show that the entropy of returns distribution of optimal traders for each analyzed market indeed reaches minimum values with respect to entropy distribution of noise traders and we measure this distance in σ units for each analyzed market. We also include a discussion on stationarity of the introduced multi-scale log-returns observable. Finally, a practical application of the obtained results related with ranking markets by their entropy measure as calculated here is presented.

Abstract This paper presents a comparison of most capable families of distributions for modelling asymmetry. Kum-normal, stable-symmetric normal family and two of the full families were chosen, where the quality of the fit, the flexibility and the amount of asymmetry parameters were factors used for comparison. The objective of this study was to generate data with increasing levels of asymmetry and to choose the best fit. The distributions were also compared in modelling two data sets of pollution of the drinking water in the El-Sharkia governorate in Egypt. Much of this paper is concerned with the distribution theory, exploring the properties of some new recent families of distributions and, where appropriate, extolling their virtues. Relatively, much of this paper is devoted to practical application.

Abstract Big Data analysis has drawn considerable interest both in tourism research and practice. The authors argue that, although the potential impact is promising, implementation often fails due to insufficient access to the data needed: Although Big Data is there, it is often not available for practical application. The authors therefore call to action in generating and using not only big, but open data.

With the putting forward and continuous expansion of the IEC 61970, the data interaction among heterogeneous system becomes possible, and continues to be put into practical application. In this paper, Firstly, CIM (common information model) was introduced, and the CIM/XML format was used to describe SCADA data. Secondly, SCADA data were analyzed and stored in database through the program. Finally, the specific application of analyzing SCADA data is described through the application in area of voltage Sag.
