RESUMENEste artículo presenta las ventajas posibles de una empresa cuando opta por certificarse como “Verde”. Se analizaron los beneficios de conductas verdes y el impacto en el medioambiente. Los resultados incluyeron el rendimiento en la inversión, el mantenimiento de la sustentabilidad ambiental, el fortalecimiento de la imagen empresarial, ahorros en los gastos de energía, agua y materiales, y el impacto positivo en el rol de responsabilidad social corporativa. This study examines the environmentally responsible behaviors (ERBs) of undergraduates ( n = 575). ERBs were measured in an online survey and the influence of situational context on behavior was explored at two scales: 1) green versus non-green building and 2) building characteristics. The Positive Sustainable Built Environments model was used to analyze three building characteristics: Prime, Permit, and Invite. Prime refers to characteristics that prepare occupants to adopt ERBs via communicating a sustainable ethos or restoring attentional capacity (e.g., use of natural materials and views to nature). Permit refers to features that allow occupants to conserve resources (e.g., operable light switches). Invite pertains to features that explicitly encourage ERBs (e.g., signage prompting occupants to turn off lights). Regression results demonstrated that living in a green building had no significant impact on ERBs. However, the Prime and Invite building characteristics significantly predicted improved Energy, Water, and Materials conservation. Results yield implications for designers seeking to create sustainable buildings that promote ERBs.

AbstractThree field studies using norm-based public service announcements were carried out in a university context. The studies yielded inconclusive results, pointing toward the need to investigate the contextual and individual effectiveness of persuasive communication based on making social norms salient. The presented studies are discussed as the first steps in introducing persuasive pro-environmental communication in a specific university context and some ways forward are proposed.

Employee Green Behavior (EGB) is the positive environmental behavior that the employees exhibit in an organization. It is one of the several methods in which environment could be protected. The purpose of this study was to gain an understanding of variables that impact EGB of employees in the select medical centers. This descriptive paper on EGB gives insight into the significance of employee green behavior which plays a significant role in protecting the environment and analyses the benefits of green behavior for the employees as well as the environment. The study explored various variables such as Sustaining work, Avoiding harm, Conserving resources and Taking initiatives from medical tourist staffs perspective. The sample size selected for the study is 150 respondents. The respondents are selected by simple random sampling method and structured questionnaire is used to collect data. Correlation, Independent sample t-test and Chi-square were used to analyze the data. There is a significant difference between Marital Status and Avoiding Harm and Marital status and Conserving Resources whereas there is no significant difference between Marital Status and Sustaining Work and Marital Status and Taking Initiative. Positive relationship exhibited between considered variables.
