At the very beginning of this paper, we stress the fact that capitalism, during a very long period of its emergence and development, was based on simple forms of commodity trading. It is true that capital left its mark on these simple forms. However, it did not change its simple character. Several centuries were to pass in for capital to build its own autochthonous forms of commodity exchange, the forms inherent in capitalism. The early forms of commodity futures, as the basic instrument of this developed commodity exchange, are thought to have been introduced on the Chicago Board of Trade - CBOT in 1985. The introduction of commodity futures contracts into commodity exchange enabled commodity markets to be divided into physical commodity markets and contract markets. This was the beginning of a complex system of commodity trade, the emergence of new economic entities in commodity markets and the development of a very complex system of trading, settlement and trade clearing through commodity futures contracts. The construction of this new system of commodity trade has lasted more than a century and during its gradual development a tremendous construct has been created, a market structure of extraordinary internal complexity and a solid logical design. The process of creating commodity futures market in the USA was outlined only in the early 1970s. We can say that it is an almost perfectly developed system, being today a dominant system in the world. Almost 100 percent of all commodity futures markets in the world are based on the commodity futures markets in the USA. The only exception is the London Metal Exchange, which is, although not being any less perfect, essentially different from the American exchanges.

Abstract This article uses tagmemic theory as a semiotic framework to analyze symbolic logic. It attends particularly to the issue of context for meaning and the role of personal observer/participants. It focuses on formal languages, which employ no ordinary words and from one point of view have “no meaning.” Attention to the context and the theorists who deploy these languages shows that formal languages have meanings at a higher level, colored by the purposes of the analysts. In fact, there is an indefinitely ascending hierarchy of theories of theories, each of which analyzes and evaluates the theories at a lower level. By analogy with Kurt Gödel’s incompleteness theory, no level of the hierarchy can capture within formalism everything in a sufficiently complex system. The personal analysts always have to make judgments about how a formalized system is analogous to the world outside the system. Arguments in analytic philosophy can be useful in clarification, but neither clarification of terms nor clarification of the structure of arguments can eliminate the need for personal judgment.

The techno-interface of BF-BOF region is an important stage that connects iron making procedure with steel making procedure in the production line, acting as a connecting link between the preceding and the following procedure. It is also the key region to optimize the iron making and steel making process as a whole. In this paper, based on queuing theory method for BF-BOF region simulation, a static simulation method is presented to realize the simulation of dynamic system, WITNESS is used to simulate the M/M/1 queue model. The number of different transportation ladles has been analyzed to influence the BF-BOF region, the best ladles were obtained in order to improve production rate. The results show that the modeling method can reflect the complex system characteristics of BF-BOF region and provide the advice for system optimization.

A methodology for developing optimized designs for symmetric-centerbody ramjet powered missiles, using a genetic algorithm as the driver for the system optimization process, has been developed. The methodology described in this paper allows for a comprehensive but efficient exploration of the design space. This global optimization process is made possible by performance prediction codes, which can provide preliminary design-level accuracy very efficiently. This work demonstrates the first truly comprehensive design strategy for this type of device. The paper contains a discussion of the methodology and shows results for a typical design scenario.

The author shows that Taoist teaching is a complex system of unity between the world and man, where special attention is paid to family relations. An important criterion is that thanks to good upbringing, which is the true path of the Tao of life, one can achieve a state of true harmony and mental order.

 No contexto em que tudo que se ouve é crise, urgência e mudança, falar sobre as possibilidades de ação em prol de um futuro sustentável é uma necessidade. Estão surgindo, em diversos lugares no mundo, iniciativas com capacidade de propor uma visão de bem-estar renovada, calcada na sustentabilidade e no agir coletivo, conhecidas como organizações colabo­rativas. Tais empreendimentos promovem pequenas rupturas locais no modelo econômico vigente, ao mesmo tempo que criam casos promissores de inovação social. Ao observar as características das organizações colaborativas e as relações que estabelecem com o ecossistema onde estão inseridas, o presente estudo estabelece uma conexão comparativa entre essas organizações e os sistemas abertos, apresentando um conceito que amplia o entendimento acerca do funcionamento e das possibilidades de ação das organizações. O objetivo, com isso, é apontar as possibilidades do design – encarado aqui sob seu viés estratégico – em fomentar as atividades de inovação social das organizações colaborativas. Utilizando o framework conceitual do metadesign, são sugeridas duas contribuições para dar suporte à organização; para habilitar seus atores a serem co-criadores; e também para transformar o próprio designer, que se assume então o papel de articulador desse sistema com­plexo: o co-design e o seeding.ABSTRACT In a context where all you can hear is crisis, urgency and change, to speak about the possibilities of action towards a sustai­nable future is a necessity. Initiatives are emerging in several places around the world, that are able to propose a renewed vision of well being based on sustainability and collective action, known as collaborative organizations. Such projects promote small local ruptures on the current economic model, while creating promising cases of social innovation. By observing the characteristics of these collaborative organizations and the relations they establish with the ecosystem where they are inserted, the present study establishes a comparative connection between these organizations and open systems, presenting a concept that amplifies the understanding of the operation and possibilities of action of such organizations. With this, the goal is to point the possibilities of design – understood here under its strategic scope – to foster the actions of social innovation of these collaborative organizations. Using the conceptual framework of metadesign, two contributions are suggested to support the organization; to enable its actors to be co-creators; and to transform the designer himself, who then assumes the role of articulator of this complex system: co-design and seeding.

The article proposes an approach to improving the structure and parameters of complexes for the organization of cargo exchange of piggyback trains using the approach of complex system optimization. The object of study - the process of piggyback transport, methods and approaches to increase its efficiency and speed. The purpose of the work is to determine the methods of improving the efficiency of piggyback transportation and their flexibility in order to adapt its parameters to the needs of customers. Synthesis of methods to increase the flexibility of the piggyback transport system while maintaining consistently high rates of carrying capacity and speed of goods delivery. Research method - system analysis and complex structural-parametric optimization. The organization of piggyback transportation is one of the elements of improving the efficiency and balance of the country's transport system. From the point of view of customer needs, the piggyback system should be flexible, while providing conditions for high transport capacity and speed. To do this, it is necessary to solve a number of problems that would allow the exchange of piggyback trains on the way, without allowing the deterioration of other parameters of the system - mainly performance and speed. The most effective approach to solving these problems is to use the methodology of directed synthesis of complex systems. The peculiarity of this methodology is that it allows you to reach the predefined parameters of a complex system. The synthesized structure of the terminal to ensure highly efficient high-speed freight exchange in the organization of piggyback transport allows piggyback freight exchange at intermediate stations of their route in a minimum time without significantly reducing the route speed and carrying capacity of the system.
