In this contribution, the authors evaluate the possibility of using separated access points for power and data transfer in a coupled Wireless Power Transfer-Powerline Communication system. Such a system has been previously proposed by the authors for specific applications, in which Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) should take place in a system where data are transmitted over the power grid. In previous works the authors have performed lab tests on a two coils WPT system equipped with a set of filters to also allow an efficient data transfer. When a multiple coil WPT system is chosen, additional possibilities arise: the access point for power and data can be differentiated, with the aim of maintaining the designed power efficiency and increase data transfer capacity. In this study a four coils WPT system is thoroughly analyzed, modelled, implemented and measured, and a set of guidelines for the correct design (in terms of performance optimization) of the data transfer is given.

In this chapter, two algorithms have been presented for supporting efficient data transfer in the Grid environment. From a node’s perspective, a multiple data transfer channel can be formed by selecting some other nodes as relays in data transfer. One algorithm requires the sender to be aware of the global connection information while another does not. Experimental results indicate that both algorithms can transfer data efficiently under various circumstances.

The latest solution for Global Connectivity is Inter-satellite communication. Inter-satellite communication will able to connect two or more satellites directly and hence efficient data transfer is possible with less delay. Choice of frequency is key concern for inter-satellite communication. In this paper, precisely mentioned about importance of millimeter range frequency band for inter-satellite links (ISL) and more focused on the Tapered Slot antenna (TSA) design at 60 GHz. In the design, Substrate Integrated Waveguide SIW feed and corrugation techniques is used to achieve high gain and narrow beam width. Power Divider is used to design two-element TS antenna of 23 dB. For further outlook of antenna design link analysis is also calculated.
