Integration of ICT is invaluable in writing classes as it affects the writing abilities of students positively and improves their EFL writing. This study has made use of qualitative design. Ten EFL teachers have been chosen based on the convenience sample to answer the research questions. Using the observation tool, this study has been carried out in the first semester of the academic year 2018/2019. The participants were all from private secondary school stages in Irbid, Jordan where the ICT infrastructure is available in the classrooms. The observations revealed that the observed teachers integrate various media and technologies in their instruction in classrooms. Further studies are recommended to compare between public and private schools in terms of the integration of ICT tools.

This article focuses on the integration of ICT in high-school level within the framework of teaching of sciences of Life and Earth. The experimentation was conducted with a sample of 112 Moroccan teachers of the region of Fez - Boulemane, who responded to a questionnaire of 16 modalities relating to the availability and the use of ICT tools, educational management of ICT in classroom, and the trainings and competencies in ICT and Informatics of the teachers. In order to make an original contribution to the study of the integration of ICT, we adopted a multidimensional analysis in the treatment of the answers of the teachers. Thus, thanks to a Factorial Analysis of Multiple Correspondence (FAMC), we could take account of the links which exist between the various modalities of our questionnaire to get to identify the most discriminating factors in the integration of ICT, like their order of importance. The results of this analysis led to three factorial axes cumulating an absolute inertia of 70%, respectively representing «the pedagogical contribution and the fundamental conditions of a success of the integration of ICT», «the advanced competencies in ICT and Informatics» and «the difficulties of use of ICT in classroom». These axes, in this hierarchy, represent finally the most discriminating factors for a successful integration of ICT.

AbstractThe paper presents the original integration of ICT tools and e-learning platform into an infrastructure to support Project-based learning for a design class that is geographically distributed across different countries. 30 Mechanical Engineering students from 4 European countries tested the infrastructure prototype for the development of an innovative solution in the field of white goods. The results produced evidence about the suitability of the proposal together with strong and weak points of the infrastructure, that can support further development and adaptation into different contexts.

The article presents a methodological approach to studying iterative processes in the school course of geometry, by the example of constructing a Koch snowflake fractal curve and calculating a few characteristics of it. The interactive creative environment 1C:MathKit is chosen to visualize the method discussed. By performing repetitive constructions and algebraic calculations using ICT tools, students acquire a steady skill of work with geometric objects of various levels of complexity, comprehend the possibilities of mathematical interpretation of iterative processes in practice, and learn how to understand the dialectical unity between finite and infinite parameters of flat geometric figures. When students are getting familiar with such contradictory concepts and categories, that replenishes their experience of worldview comprehension of the subject areas they study through the concept of “big ideas”. The latter allows them to take a fresh look at the processes in the world around. The article is a matter of interest to schoolteachers of computer science and mathematics, as well as university scholars who teach the course “Concepts of modern natural sciences”.

This study investigated the usage and types of information and communications technologies (ICTs) accessible to community members in four selected Thusong Service Centres (TSCs or telecentres) in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN). The telecentres that participated in the study were: Nhlazuka, Mbazwane, Dududu and Malangeni. The study was informed by Rogers’ (1995) Diffusion of Innovations (DoI) theory. Through a survey, four TSCs were purposively selected. A questionnaire was used to collect data from community members in the four telecentres involved. The data collected was tabulated under the various headings and presented using tables, frequencies, percentiles and generalisations with the help of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The results indicated that a variety of ICT tools have been adopted in the TSCs to provide the local community with the much-needed access to information and improved communication. The government should ensure that adequate varieties and levels of ICT competence are offered to all the citizens. In conclusion, there is a need for sufficient and coherent government policies regulating the training of the local community to use these ICTs effectively.
