The increasing number of senior citizens who need long-term care or rehabilitation has become a serious issue, especially considering the increasing aging population and declining birthrate. To maintain one’s motor functions and improve one’s muscle strength or range of motion, it is important to continue exercising constantly. We have developed a prototype exercise support system that aim to promote and evaluate exercise of users. This system includes a small humanoid robot presenting the exercises, amotion sensor, a touch panel, a laptop PC to control other devices, and other parts. We propose a method of detecting the specific poses of the users from the skeleton data of the motion sensor. We use a questionnaire to evaluate the system’s effect on the promotion of exercise and the users’ understanding of the movements of the robot, and we use a motion sensor to evaluate motion recognition of the users during the exercises. The system is tested by young people and also elderly staying in a geriatric health service facility. The questionnaire results indicate that the elderly subjects react positively to the exercises. The pose detection method shows a correct answer rate of 94% for the young subjects and 87% for the elderly subjects. It is confirmed that the prototype system can be put into practice use.

The author examines the impact of rapid social change and economic development on family support for older parents in contemporary urban China. Based on the 1992 Survey on China's Support Systems for the Elderly, the author uses three levels of economic development as proxies for developmental stages in a study carried out from a geodevelopmental perspective. It is found that intergenerational support in urban China is persistent as far as instrumental support is concerned, and that the level of support follows a U-shaped pattern along the axis of economic development. It is in the mid-developed urban areas that intergenerational support seems the weakest. If the pattern from the less-developed to the developed urban areas reflects a time path, then the suggested trajectory will not lead to a convergence with the old-age support system found in the West. The author concludes that, although some aspects of economic support for the elderly will likely be consistent with modernization theory, the old-age support system in China is, on the whole, likely to diverge from the path seen in the West.

Abstract Population aging has become the norm in China. Improving or reconstructing the elderly support system is therefore essential. While the government and institutional support has been improving and enhancing in China, family remains the most important source of elderly support for a long period in the future. Based on data from censuses and national surveys (1982-2015), we examine recent changes in household size and structure across ages from an individual life course perspective, to reveal the complexities and ambiguities behind the nationwide household change. Our findings suggest that multi-generational co-residence is a major vehicle to accommodate the needs of family members at critical stages of life. These salient features of family change in China call for new family-oriented policies, including pragmatic incentives to strengthen intergenerational solidarity, essential support for family caregivers, and diversified community services to care for frail elders.

AbstractThe selection of elderly visa-kitas receiver to asses the cantidate who qualify at PT Mulia Prima Permai Jakarta is not an easy process. The difficulty of the procedure require in Embassy makes PT Mulia Prima Permai needs to choose the most effective way to do the selection of elderly visa applicants before sending it to the Embassy. One of the options is by using the decision making of Fuzzy Multi Attribute Dictition Making (MADM) method. The Fuzzy Multi Attribute Diction Making Method is expected can help to solve the problem of elderly visa acceptance selection effectively. In this research, it is necessary to compile some criteria and alternatives. To support the selection process of acceptance for the elderly visa kitas a Decision Support System of selection was created by using Fuzzy Multi Attribute Dicision Making (MADM) method. The Decision Support System is useful to process the required data (input) of elderly visa kitas application and outcome the request status output in the form that 100% match the results of the calculation with PT. Mulia Prima Permai. Keywords: Fuzzy Multi Attribute Dicision Making (MADM), Elderly visa-kitas selection, Decission support systemAbstrakSeleksi penerimaan visa-kitas lansia, untuk menilai calon peserta yang memenuhi syarat di PT.Mulia Prima Permai Jakarta bukanlah suatu kegiatan yang mudah. Mulia Prima Permai.Kata kunci: Fuzzy Multi Attribute Dicision Making (MADM), Seleksi visa-kitas lansia, Sistem Pendukung Keputusan
