Thanks to mummification, the physical remains of many rulers of ancient Egypt are still observable today and constitute a valuable source of information. By evaluating the age at death and sometimes elucidating the degree of kinship and circumstances of death, our knowledge of ancient Egyptian history becomes more precise. Different pathologic conditions have been found and the evolution of the mummification process can be seen through time. The most spectacular discovery was that of Tutankhamen’s mummy, the single totally undisturbed tomb, associated with a fabulous treasure. The mummy of Ramses II has been extensively studied, the only one that flew to Paris where an irradiation was delivered in order to eradicate a destructive fungal infection. The identification of Akhenaten’s mummy and the explanation for his peculiar appearance are still unsolved problems.Noticeably, many Royal mummies remain of uncertain identity or undiscovered hitherto.

Abstract The archival turn in Beckett studies has revealed a wealth of material that, despite being discarded or reworked, remains a valuable source of information on Beckett’s modus operandi as a writer. This article examines the genesis of Play from the postcognitive angle of extended cognition, and demonstrates how the author’s mind, contrary to the generally accepted Cartesian internal-external opposition, extends beyond the boundaries of skin and skull and forms a hybrid cognitive system with the emerging text in the drafts. Influenced by a number of other external factors, including the play’s first performances, Play was shaped by an intense and continuous interaction between several environmental elements and can serve therefore as an example of extended cognition in creative writing.

Several dynamical theories have been developed in order to approach the dynamical evolution of stellar systems and explain the observational data. The observed density profiles of the clusters can be a valuable source of information towards the understanding of their dynamical properties. King in a series of papers has connected the established theories with the observed profiles in clusters of our own Galaxy (King, 1962, 1966; etc.). Density profiles can be obtained by means of star counts and/or by means of photometric photometry. So far the observations for clusters in our Galaxy and the MCs appear to fit well the so called King models and provide information of their tidal radii, total masses and concentration parameters (Kontizas, 1984).

Using 500 survey cards, the ethnobotanical survey was conducted over a period of 4 months. From the survey 62 species belonging to 30 families were identified. The family Lamiaceae is the most dominant followed by Apiaceae. In addition, the leaves are the most used part (38%). Furthermore, the infusion was the major mode of preparation (66%). In terms of diseases treated, digestive disorders rank first (50%), followed by respiratory diseases (28%). The results obtained will be a valuable source of information for the region. There could be a database for further research in the fields of pharmacology and for the purpose of evaluating the therapeutic efficacy of medicinal plants.

Political ads aimed at the mass electorate served to bolster the morale and confidence of volunteer party workers during the 1970 Wisconsin gubernatorial campaign. Advertising also stimulated communication within the organization and provided a valuable source of information for persuasion activity. However, few campaign workers were recruited as a result of the ads.

Fish bones, often reduced to fragments, are found during the excavations of prehistoric campsites. These bones can be of interest to the archaeologist as a valuable source of information on the diet of past human populations. One important objective of archaeological faunal studies is, then, to calculate accurately the size of the animals consumed by past human populations, to estimate the nutritional value of these animals in the human diet.
