The objective of the present contribution is to evaluate the risk of the impact of accounting errors and frauds on reported accounting records on the basis of the CFEBT risk triangle of accounting errors and frauds. The analysis is conducted in the framework of a case study that examines a selected accounting unit predominantly operating in trade, with respect to financial statements reported during the years 2011–2015. The evaluation of the risk of impacts of accounting errors and frauds forms a part of one of the three vertices of the CFEBT risk triangle. The contribution presents results of the CFEBT approach at three levels of the M‑score and analyses significant discrepancies between the generation of earnings and increase in cash flow during the observed periods. The CFEBT risk triangle was designed as a tool for detection, evaluation and management of the risk of accounting errors and frauds in circumstances of the Czech accounting standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The essential aim of the triangle is to reduce information asymmetry between authors and users of accounting records, or, in other words, to increase the quality of available information with respect to decision‑making on the basis of available accounting information.

The need for international financial reporting standards (IFRS) emerged due to the increasing degree of interdependence between global capital markets and the need for investors to obtain reliable and honest financial information in expressing economic events, in order to find a common financial language, and this is what IFRS provide. Nevertheless, the research aimed to measure the impact of the adoption of IFRS on the quality of earnings in the Iraqi banks listed in the Iraqi Stock Exchange for a sample of 30 banks. The Beneish model was used to measure the quality of earnings, while Mann-Whitney was used to measure and prove the hypothesis of the research. However, the research reached a set of conclusions, including that although the IFRS should contribute to improving the quality of financial reporting, the adoption of these standards in commercial banks listed in the Iraq Stock Exchange did not contribute to achieving quality in earnings even after adopting those standards. Furthermore, a Beneish model is an important tool for auditors, financial analysts, investors, and creditors who have the ability to understand the financial statements or those who have a reasonable understanding of the nature of those financial statements in measuring the quality of earnings, because it is a simple and easy to implement tool.

This study focused on the economic benefits of adoption of IFRS. More specifically, this study emphasis on whether the quality of the accounting information has been improved after the adoption of IFRS. The study investigated quality of accounting information through two main variables: earnings management and the value relevance of accounting information. The study was applied on 56 Egyptian listed companies during the period from 1997 to 2011, which divided into two periods: the period after the adoption of the standards from 2007 to 2011, and before the adoption of the International Financial Reporting Standards from 1997 to 2006. The research concluded that there is a significant impact of the adoption of IFRS on managerial opportunities to manage earnings using discretionary accruals, which is reflected in the lower value relevance of accounting information. Study results also indicate that companies with high leverage are the lowest companies in the value relevance of accounting information, and that companies that are subject to private sector law No. 159 of 1981 are the most companies engaged in earnings management activities through discretionary accruals, large size companies, without any significant impact on future growth opportunities and listing on global exchanges.

In 2006 the Chinese Ministry of finance(CMF) issued new accounting standards that required companies began to present comprehensive income information in the statement of equity. In 2009 and 2014, CMF changed the comprehensive income presentation pattern consecutively twice, from the equity statement pattern to the performance statement transition pattern, and then to the single performance statement. The purpose of these changes is to harmonize China Accounting Standard (CAS) with International Financial Reporting Standards(IFRS). It also aims to enhance the usefulness of comprehensive income information by improving the transparency of information disclosure. From the perspective of presentation patterns, the paper examines the influence of presentation pattern changes on the value relevance of comprehensive income (CI), and on other comprehensive income (OCI). The results show that, under the equity statement pattern, neither CI nor OCI was correlated with value. Under the performance statement transition pattern, both CI and OCI have the value relevance. Under the single performance statement pattern, the CI has higher value relevance, while the OCI does not reflect higher value relevance. This study reveals the impact of comprehensive income presentation pattern on the usefulness of decision making. It has certain inspiration and reference for improving the quality of accounting standards and financial reporting.

The article is devoted to the study of the impact of the introduction of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) on changes in the investment climate in Ukraine. The relevance of the topic is that improving the practice of applying IFRS as a tool for exchanging financial information is one of the key conditions for improving the investment climate in Ukraine. The authors have created the generalized scheme that illustrates the chronological list of enterprises that are required by law to prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS. It was noted that in 2018, in accordance with Part 2 of Article 12 of the law on accounting and financial reporting in Ukraine and resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 547 from 11.07.2018, the criteria of enterprises that are required to prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS were updated. This step significantly increased the level of application of international standards due to the adoption of such a decision at the legislative level. The dynamics of the number of IFRS enterprises in Ukraine was analyzed. The analysis showed that over the past three years, the number of almost all enterprises that must apply international standards has been growing. The advantages of using IFRS for different users of financial statements were determined. It was determined that the priority users of IFRS financial statements are investors. At the same time, it was noted that the main advantage for other users of financial statements prepared in accordance with international standards is the improvement of the investment climate. The dynamics of the Investment Attractiveness Index of Ukraine based on the Likert scale in the period from 2016 to 2020 was analyzed. The direct investment receipts to Ukraine from the European Union countries were studied. The dynamics of direct investment in the Ukrainian economy was analyzed for two types of economic activities that should form financial statements in accordance with IFRS, namely, the extractive industry and quarrying, as well as financial and insurance activities.
