In Europe, the genus Diphasiastrum comprises 3 species and 3 hybrids, with D. × oellgaardii (D. alpinum × tristachyum) being the rarest cross. To improve the distributional knowledge of these taxa, extensive studies were performed in a number of herbaria (BM, H, O, K, LE, LECB, MHA, NS, S, VLA; acronyms after Holmgren et al. 1990). In the herbarium of the Tsytsin Main Moscow Botanical Garden of Academy of Sciences in Russia (MHA), an interesting Diphasiastrum specimen collected in Turkey was discovered. It was labelled D. alpinum, but obviously is not this species. By thorough investigations of its morphology, we proved that it represents the hybrid D. × oellgaardii. This is the first record for Turkey, but also for Asia as a whole making it an important range extension. Furthermore, the herbarium studies revealed several unpublished finds of D. tristachyum in Turkey; these are also reported here. All known Turkish localities of D. × oellgaardii and its parent species are shown in a distribution map.

We provide new records of Acratosaura mentalis from three localities in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil, these records extending the known geographical distribution of the species to the municipalities of Sertânia, Custódia and Floresta. We also report A. mentalis from the municipality of Mauriti, which is the first record for the state of Ceará, Brazil.

Melogale personata I. Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire, 1831, Large-toothed Ferret Badger (Mustelidae), is distributed from Nepal to Vietnam with very few records. It historically is known by only one recent sighting record from an unspeci-fied area of Nepal. The IUCN species distribution map shows this species in the Okhaldhunga District. We confirm the presence of M. personata in Nepal based on a sighting of a juvenile individual. This is the first record of this species from Syangja District, Nepal. The geographical range of this species is extended farther west in Nepal.

We present the first record of Lygophis meridionalis for the state of Espírito Santo, in southeastern Brazil, and a distribution map based on indexed literature. This species of the family Dipsadidae is widely distributed in South America, although records from Brazil are only available for the states of São Paulo, Amazonas, Pará, Goiás, Tocantins, and Bahia. Our report is only the second record of L. meridionalis from the Atlantic Forest and represents a range extension of 998 km from the nearest record in this biome.

Abstract This work refers to the native species of genus Astragalus L. (A. dasyanthus, A. ponticus), Adonis L. (A. vernalis, A. wolgensis) and Digitalis L. (D. lanata, D. grandiflora). The plants are cultivated in the Botanical Garden of Moldova in the field collection of the medicinal and aromatic plants. Investigation includes propagation aspects, research into cultivation techniques and conservation measures. The biological particularities and the phenologic rhythm are also registered. The obtained data shows the ecological flexibility of species and the possibility of preserving them in culture.

The family Tischeriidae is recorded from Madagascar for the first time. Coptotriche alavelona Lees and Stonis, sp. n., is described from high elevation tropical moist forest of Madagascar, and its proposed generic placement discussed. DNA of this species has been extracted and conserved for future phylogenetic or barcoding studies. The external features and male genitalia are figured and described. An updated checklist and a distribution map for all 13 Tischeriidae species currently recorded from the Afrotropics are provided.

We provide the first record of Anolis fuscoauratus D’Orbigny, 1837 for the state of Rio Grande do Norte and a distribution map for the species in the Atlantic Rainforest of northeastern Brazil. The record of A. fuscoauratus in the municipality of Tibau do Sul, state of Rio Grande do Norte, represents a distribution extension of 170 km northwestern from the municipality of Cabedelo, state of Paraíba. This is the northernmost record of this species in the Atlantic Rainforest.

The parasitoid wasp Clistopyga melanoptera Castillo, Sääksjärvi & Bordera, 2016 was described recently and was known only from the type locality, Cusco, Peru. Here we provide a first record of this species for Brazil, at Manaus, 1700 km from the type locality. A distribution map, images and morphological variations are provided.

We present a new distribution map, including new locality records for the Blue-fronted Lancebill (Doryfera johannae) from southeast Peru. One of these records is the first physical capture record for the Madre de Dios region and supposes a range extension of ca. 470 km to the southeast. We provide notes related to the environment in which this individual was found, along with photos of the captured female from the Manu Learning Centre in the buffer zone of Manu Biosphere Reserve.
