ABSTRACTHere, we report the draft genome sequence ofSphingorhabdussp. strain EL138, an alphaproteobacterium that shows potential to degrade polycyclic aromatic compounds and to cope with various heavy metals and antibiotics. Moreover, the strain, isolated from the gorgonian coralEunicella labiata, possesses several genes involved in the biosynthesis of polyphosphates, polyketides, and terpenoids.

ABSTRACT We report here the genome sequence of Labrenzia sp. EL143, an alphaproteobacterium isolated from the gorgonian coral Eunicella labiata that possesses various genes involved in halogen and aromatic compound degradation, as well as polyketide synthesis. The strain also maintains multiple genes that confer resistance to toxic compounds such as heavy metals and antibiotics.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Marinobacter hydrocarbonoclasticus strain STW2, which was isolated from the rhizosphere of seagrass Enhalus acodoides. This study will facilitate future studies on the genetic pathways of marine microbes capable of both polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon degradation and nitrate reduction.

Here, we announce the draft genome sequence of Brevibacillus sp. strain LEMMJ03, isolated from Whalers Bay sediment (Deception Island, Antarctica). In total, 4,500 coding sequences (CDS), among those 102 coding for tRNAs and 5 for noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs), were predicted from the 4.64-Mb genome. Predicted functions were for bacteriocin and degradation of aromatic compounds.

ABSTRACT Pseudomonas pachastrellae strain CCUG 46540T (KMM 330T) was isolated from a deep-sea sponge specimen collected in the Philippine Sea at a depth of 750 m. The draft genome has an estimated size of 4.0 Mb, exhibits a G+C content of 61.2 mol%, and is predicted to encode 3,592 proteins, including pathways for the degradation of aromatic compounds.

ABSTRACT Byssochlamys sp. isolate BYSS01 (anamorph, Paecilomyces sp.), which was isolated from jet fuel, is highly adapted to grow in hydrocarbons, having predicted genes involved in degradation of n -alkanes, branched alkanes, and aromatic compounds. The draft genome size is estimated at 29 Mb, containing 8,509 proteins.

We report the draft genome sequence of Variovorax boronicumulans strain HAB-30, which was isolated from a phenol-degrading chemostat culture. This strain contains genes encoding a multicomponent type of phenol hydroxylase, with degradation pathways for catechol and other aromatic compounds. The genome sequence will be useful for understanding the metabolic pathways involved in phenol degradation.
