ABSTRACTThe draft genome sequence (4.84 Mb) ofCecembia lonarensisstrain LW9T, isolated from a water sample (4.5-m depth) from Lonar Lake, a meteorite-created haloalkaline lake in India, is reported. The enzymes produced by these microorganisms need to be stable under alkaline conditions prevailing in its habitat. Such enzymes would be of immense importance for enzymatic processes operating at high pH.

ABSTRACT Lachnotalea glycerini CCRI-19302 belongs to the genus Lachnotalea. The strain was isolated from a water sample harvested in Québec City, Canada. The genome assembly comprised 4,694,231 bp, with 34.6% GC content. This is the first documentation to report the genome sequence of a sporulating and motile strain of L. glycerini.

The draft genome sequence of an anaerobic fermenting bacterium, “Sphaerochaeta halotolerans” strain 4-11T, isolated from formation water of a low-temperature petroleum reservoir in Russia is presented. The genome is annotated to elucidate the taxonomic position of the strain 4-11T and to extend the public genome database.

Calcium-dependent Novosphingobium sp. strain TCA1 was newly isolated from a water sample from a hot spring containing a high concentration of calcium ions. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of this bacterium, which may be the basis for research on calcium ion homeostasis.

ABSTRACT Deinococcus indicus strain DR1, a red-pigmented, arsenic- and radiation-resistant bacterium, was isolated from a water sample of the Dadri wetland, Uttar Pradesh, India. Here, we report a draft genome sequence of this strain, which may provide useful information regarding the genes and pathways involved in heavy-metal bioremediation.
