Serratia marcescens is an opportunistic pathogen that typically infects the respiratory and urinary tract, with the majority of cases being hospital acquired. The study of S. marcescens phages may help control drug-resistant S. marcescens strains.

Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is an emerging opportunistic human pathogen. In this report, we describe the isolation and genomic annotation of the S. maltophilia-infecting bacteriophage Mendera. A myophage of 159,961 base pairs, Mendera is T4-like and related most closely to Stenotrophomonas phage IME-SM1.

Serratia marcescens is a Gram-negative nosocomial pathogen causing various hospital-acquired infections. Here, we describe the complete genome sequence of S. marcescens myophage Moabite. The genome of Moabite is 273,933 bp long, with 337 predicted coding sequences and two tRNA genes, and it shares its highest amino acid identity with Serratia phage 2050HW.

Serratia marcescens is an opportunistic pathogen that causes respiratory, urinary, and digestive tract infections in humans. Here, we describe the annotation of Serratia marcescens myophage MyoSmar. The 68,745-bp genome encodes 105 predicted proteins and is most similar to the genomes of Pseudomonas PB1-like viruses.

Proteus mirabilis as a nosocomial pathogen is often the cause of urinary tract infections. This announcement describes the complete genome sequence of a P. mirabilis myophage named Myduc. Phage Myduc is related to Enterobacteria phage phiEcoM-GJ1, which belongs to a group of myophages with small genome sizes (52,000 to 56,000 bp) possessing a T7-like RNA polymerase.

ABSTRACT Staphylococcus haemolyticus is a coagulase-negative staphylococcal species that is part of the skin microbiome and an opportunistic human pathogen. The strain SGAir0252 was isolated from tropical air samples collected in Singapore, and its complete genome comprises one chromosome of 2.63 Mb and one plasmid of 41.6 kb.

ABSTRACT Serratia marcescens is an opportunistic human pathogen with multiple resistance mechanisms that infects hospitalized patients. Here, we report the full genome sequence of S. marcescens podophage Parlo. Parlo is most similar to Erwinia phage PEp14 and encodes a 3,764-residue protein assumed to be a homolog of DarB, an antirestriction protein.

ABSTRACT Serratia marcescens SCQ1 is a red-pigmented bacterium isolated from silkworm larva with septicemia. Pigment-deficient spontaneous mutants arise when S. marcescens SCQ1 is incubated under relatively stable laboratory conditions for a long time. Here, we present the complete genome sequence of SCQ1 and the resequenced genomes of four spontaneous pigment mutants.
