Serratia marcescens is an opportunistic pathogen that typically infects the respiratory and urinary tract, with the majority of cases being hospital acquired. The study of S. marcescens phages may help control drug-resistant S. marcescens strains.

Serratia marcescens is a Gram-negative nosocomial pathogen causing various hospital-acquired infections. Here, we describe the complete genome sequence of S. marcescens myophage Moabite. The genome of Moabite is 273,933 bp long, with 337 predicted coding sequences and two tRNA genes, and it shares its highest amino acid identity with Serratia phage 2050HW.

Klebsiella pneumoniae is an opportunistic pathogen associated with hospital-acquired infections. This report describes the complete genome of the K. pneumoniae myophage Mulock, which appears to be a temperate myophage distantly related to other Klebsiella myophages in morphogenesis genes and is partially syntenic with the canonical Escherichia phage lambda in genes encoding lambda-like functions.

Serratia marcescens is an opportunistic pathogen that causes respiratory, urinary, and digestive tract infections in humans. Here, we describe the annotation of Serratia marcescens myophage MyoSmar. The 68,745-bp genome encodes 105 predicted proteins and is most similar to the genomes of Pseudomonas PB1-like viruses.

ABSTRACT Klebsiella michiganensis is a Gram-negative opportunistic pathogen that is associated with many hospital-acquired infections in humans. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of a K. michiganensis strain isolated from a Canadian wastewater treatment facility.

Serratia marcescens is a ubiquitous Gram-negative opportunistic pathogen. This announcement describes the isolation and genome annotation of S. marcescens T5-like siphophage Slocum. Terminal repeats, 170 protein-coding genes, and 23 tRNAs were predicted in the 112,436-bp Slocum genome.

Klebsiella pneumoniae is an opportunistic pathogen that is the cause of several hospital-acquired infections. Bacteriophages that target this bacterium could be used therapeutically as novel antimicrobial agents. Here, we present the complete genome sequence of the T1-like K. pneumoniae phage Sanco.

ABSTRACT Serratia marcescens SCQ1 is a red-pigmented bacterium isolated from silkworm larva with septicemia. Pigment-deficient spontaneous mutants arise when S. marcescens SCQ1 is incubated under relatively stable laboratory conditions for a long time. Here, we present the complete genome sequence of SCQ1 and the resequenced genomes of four spontaneous pigment mutants.

ABSTRACT The bacterium Klebsiella aerogenes is an opportunistic pathogen that often infects hospitalized patients and those who are immunocompromised. K. aerogenes in some cases can become resistant to antibiotic treatment. Being a potential therapeutic, Metamorpho is a T4-like myophage targeting K. aerogenes.

Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) is an opportunistic pathogen that commonly causes foodborne illness. Study of bacteriophages against this pathogen could be useful to develop alternative treatment approaches. Here, we present the complete genome sequence of LL11, a T7-like podophage that infects ETEC.
