Synechococcus sp. strain CB0101 is a model strain for cyanobacteria living in the estuarine environment. It is also a representative member of marine Synechococcus subcluster 5.2. The draft genome sequence of CB0101 was reported in 2014 with 454 sequencing. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of CB0101, obtained with PacBio sequencing. CB0101 contains a specialized array of genes which are involved in sensing, responding to, and persisting in the presence of environmental stress.

The genome of Pelosinus fermentans JBW45, isolated from a chromium-contaminated site in Hanford, Washington, USA, has been completed with PacBio sequencing. Nine copies of the rRNA gene operon and multiple transposase genes with identical sequences resulted in breaks in the original draft genome and may suggest genomic instability of JBW45.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the complete genome sequence of psychrotolerant Synechococcus sp. strain CBW1107, which was isolated from the Chesapeake Bay in winter. CBW1107 is a member of picocyanobacterial subalpine cluster II and exhibits greater cold tolerance than do most coastal and marine Synechococcus strains.

Lactobacillus brevis strain 100D8 was isolated from rye silage and showed rapid acidification ability in vitro and antifungal activity against mycotoxin-producing fungi. We report here the complete genome sequence of L. brevis strain 100D8, which has a circular chromosome (2,351,988 bp, 2,304 coding sequences [CDSs]) and three plasmids (45,061 bp, 57 CDSs; 40,740 bp, 40 CDSs; and 39,943 bp, 57 CDSs).

ABSTRACTPseudomonas stutzeriAN10 (CCUG 29243) can be considered a model strain for aerobic naphthalene degradation. We report the complete genome sequence of this bacterium. Its 4.71-Mb chromosome provides insights into other biodegradative capabilities of strain AN10 (i.e., benzoate catabolism) and suggests a high number of horizontal gene transfer events.

ABSTRACT Actinomyces sp. strain Chiba101, isolated from an arthritic leg joint of a pig raised in Japan, is a bacterium closely related to Actinomyces denticolens. Here, we deciphered the complete genome sequence of Actinomyces sp. Chiba101 and the high-quality draft genome sequence of A. denticolens DSM 20671T.

Synechococcus spp. are unicellular cyanobacteria that are globally distributed and are important primary producers in marine coastal environments. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of Synechococcus sp. strain WH 8101 and identify genomic islands that may play a role in virus-host interactions.

We report here the near-complete genome sequence of “Candidatus Spirobacillus cienkowskii,” a spiral-shaped, red-pigmented uncultivated bacterial pathogen of Daphnia spp. The genome is 2.74 Mbp in size, has a GC content of 32.1%, and contains genes associated with bacterial motility and the production of carotenoids, which could explain the distinctive red color of hosts infected with this pathogen.

ABSTRACT We report the complete genome sequence of the Campylobacter concisus type strain ATCC 33237 and the draft genome sequences of eight additional well-characterized C. concisus strains. C. concisus has been shown to be a genetically heterogeneous species, and these nine genomes provide valuable information regarding the diversity within this taxon.

We present the complete genome sequence of Pantoea agglomerans ASB05 and three associated plasmids, generated using a combination of the Illumina and PacBio platforms. P. agglomerans ASB05 was isolated from fresh cherries purchased in Albany, California, in 2016.
