The draft genome sequence of Clostridium tertium WC0709, a gut bacterium able to use mucin in pure culture as the sole carbon and nitrogen source, is presented here. The genome sequence of C. tertium will provide valuable references for comparative genome analysis and for studying the relationship with the host.

ABSTRACT The draft genome sequence of Pseudanabaena yagii GIHE-NHR1, a filamentous cyanobacterium, is reported here. Comparative genome analysis suggests that this strain can produce an odor-causing compound (2-methylisoborneol) in water. The genome information is expected to improve the understanding of the putative 2-methylisoborneol production by the bacterium.

ABSTRACT We present the genome sequence of Bacillus cereus LA2007, a strain isolated in 2007 from a fatal pneumonia case in Louisiana. Sequence-based genome analysis revealed that LA2007 carries a plasmid highly similar to Bacillus anthracis pXO1, including the genes responsible for the production and regulation of anthrax toxin.

ABSTRACTBacillus pumilusBA06 was isolated from the proteinaceous soil and produced an extracellular alkaline protease with leather-dehairing function. The genome of BA06 was sequenced. The comparative genome analysis indicated that strain BA06 is different in genome from the otherB. pumilusstrains, with limited insertions, deletions, and rearrangements.

Several bacterial genera with antagonistic activity against pathogenic organisms have been isolated in pure culture from the gut of the Peruvian scallop, Argopecten purpuratus . One strain shows a broad inhibitory activity against aquaculture pathogenic bacterial strains. In this communication, we announce the draft genome sequence of Streptomyces sp. strain PAM3C.

ABSTRACT Pichia manshurica is common in fermentation; however, genome analysis has never been reported for the species. This yeast plays a role in the secondary fermentation of Ishizuchi-kurocha, a traditional Japanese fermented tea. This paper presents the draft genome sequence of P. manshurica YM63, isolated from the leaves of fermented tea.

ABSTRACT The draft genome sequence of Lactobacillus paracasei strain LC-Ikematsu, isolated from a pineapple in Okinawa, was determined. The total length of the 87 contigs was 3.08 Mb with a G+C content of 46.2% and 2,946 coding sequences. The genome analysis revealed its biosynthetic ability of 11 amino acids.

ABSTRACT The draft genome sequence of the aureocyclicin 4185-producing strain Staphylococcus aureus 4185 is presented. The assembly contains 2,789,721 bp and a G+C content of 32.8%. Genome analysis allowed us to determine the complete sequence of the bacteriocinogenic plasmid pRJ101 and to find another bacteriocin gene cluster encoded on the bacterial chromosome.

ABSTRACTWe report here the 6.97-Mb draft genome sequence ofPseudomonas fluorescensstrain NCIMB 11764, which is capable of growth on cyanide as the sole nitrogen source. The draft genome sequence allowed the discovery of several genes implicated in enzymatic cyanide turnover and provided additional information contributing to a better understanding of this organism's unique cyanotrophic ability. This is the first sequenced genome of a cyanide-assimilating bacterium.

Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Pseudorhodobacter sp. strain E13, a Gram-negative, aerobic, nonflagellated, and rod-shaped bacterium which was isolated from the Yellow Sea in South Korea. The assembled genome sequence is 3,878,578 bp long with 3,646 protein-coding sequences in 159 contigs.
