Objective. To study the effect of clove tree essential oil on the cardiovascular function of the elderly with normal blood pressure and with small deviations in the direction of hypertension and hypotension. Materials and methods. The study included 293 elderly women divided into 3 control (sessions of relaxation psychotherapy) and 3 experimental (sessions of relaxation psychotherapy combined with sessions of aromatherapy with clove tree essential oil) groups by blood pressure (normal, small deviations towards hypertension and hypotension), each of which was divided into three subgroups by exposure time (10, 20 and 30 minutes). Before and after the sessions, systolic, diastolic blood pressure and heart rate of the testees were measured, and then the following indicators were calculated: pulse pressure, stroke volume, minute cardiac output, average dynamic arterial pressure, total peripheral vascular resistance, heart mdex<, Robinson rndex^ Kerdo index<, coefficient of efficiency of blood circulation. Results. It was found that the effect of clove tree essential oil depends on the initial level of blood pressure. The testees with a slightly increased blood pressure (up to140 mm Hg) after aroma sessions of aU durations the blood pressure became normal. Accordingly, the values of the minute cardiac output, heart mdex<, coefficient of efficiency of blood circulation, Robinson index were normalized. The testees with normal blood pressure, the sessions of aroma psycho-relaxation practically did not cause changes in parameters characterizing the functions of the cardiovascular system The testees with moderate hypotension (on the average110 mm Hg) during the aroma sessions had the shifts to the normal of the parameters characterizing the functions of the cardiovascular system Thus, clove tree essential oil has a normalizing effect on the function of the cardiovascular system of elderly women at all its initial values.

Aim. To study the indices of arterial wall local stiffness and it association with structural and functional parameters of cardiovascular system remodeling in hypertensive patients. Methods. Cross-sectional population study included 213 industrial workers, among them 106 patients with stage I-II hypertension and 107 healthy individuals. The stage of arterial hypertension and additional cardiovascular risk category was performed in accordance with national guidelines. All patients underwent echocardiography, carotid arteries ultrasonography, including arterial stiffness evaluation. Results. In patients with hypertension, significant association of arterial wall stiffness indices and «intima-media» complex thickness (total impact of 91%) and echocardiographic parameters describing the left heart chambers volume were revealed. The fact of identifying the relatively high rate of altered arterial wall stiffness parameters, as well as its association with «intima-media» complex thickness in healthy individuals with normal blood pressure (total impact of 81%) may suggest that vascular wall rigidity change may premise vascular remodeling. Conclusion. Arterial wall stiffness indices may be a marker of effective control of risk factors in individuals with normal blood pressure and effect of drug therapy in patients with hypertension.

Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of pearl bath on basic parameters of the cardiovascular system in patients without hypertension Material and Methods: This study recruited 40 patients without hypertension (20 male and 20 female). All patients had their blood pressure and heart rate measured immediately before and during the procedure. Results: During the pearl bath HR increased by an average of 2.6 bpm (p=0,018355), and from the measurement before surgery by 5.5 bpm (p=0,000404). SBP decreased during the bath by 8.7 mmHg (p=0.000001), DBP by 4.8 mmHg (p=0,000727). SBP, DBP values for pre-treatment measurements decreased by 14.4 mmHg (p=0,000000) and 9.7 mmHg (p=0,000005), respectively. Conclusions: Pearl baths decreases blood pressure and increase pulse. The dynamics of changes in systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and heart rate do not differ significantly between male and female.

Purpose. To study the dynamics of blood pressure (BP) indicators under the influence of exogenously administered melatonin (Melatonin-SZ, Severnaya Zvezda, Russia) with various manifestations of desynchronosis of circadian BP rhythms (arterial hypertension – AH, high normal blood pressure) to determine the scheme of their effective compensation. Material and methods. The study included 101 patients with desynchronosis of circadian rhythms of blood pressure – 52 patients with hypertension, constituting the first and second groups, and 49 individuals with high normal blood pressure, representing the third and fourth groups. Patients of the second and fourth groups received conservative therapy, patients of the first and third groups combined it with melatonin. All patients underwent measurements of office blood pressure, home monitoring of blood pressure (ABPM), electrocardiography, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring (ABPM). Results and discussion. In patients of the first and third groups, compared with the traditional treatment groups, by the end of the observation period, a significantly (p < 0.05) decrease in office systolic blood pressure (SBP) / diastolic blood pressure (DBP) was established: in the first group compared with the second – 1.11 / 1.13 times, in the third group compared to the fourth – 1.43 / 1.58 times; significantly more (p < 0.05) pronounced decrease in SBP / DBP during DMAD – by 1.08 / 1.17 and 1.58 / 1.62 times, respectively, Significantly (p < 0.05) more pronounced decrease in average daily, average daily and average nighttime SBP / DBP during ABPM – by 1.13 / 1.20, 1.11 / 1.20, 1.23 / 1.25 and 1.47 / 1.31, 1.42 / 1.19, 1.54 / 1.41 times, respectively; reliably (p < 0.05) more frequent registration of the dipper rhythm type SBP / DBP – 1.6 / 1.4 and 1.6 / 1.4 times, respectively. In addition, the dynamics of patients in the first and third groups showed a significant (p < 0.05) decrease in the mean daily and mean nighttime SBP / DBP variability (SBP in the first group by 27.3 and 41.3 %, respectively; DBP in the first group by 20.1 and 26.3 %, respectively; SBP in the third group by 13.5 and 25.2 %, respectively; DBP in the third group by 12.2 and 28.2 %, respectively). Conclusions. With various manifestations of desynchronosis of circadian rhythms of blood pressure (AH, high normal blood pressure), the prescription of melatonin (Melatonin-SZ, Severnaya Zvezda, Russia) at a dose of 3 mg per day 30–40 minutes before bedtime for a month against the background of non-drug therapy and antihypertensive drugs led to a significantly more effective decrease in blood pressure at its office measurement, DMAD, ABPM with an improvement in the circadian rhythm of blood pressure and normalization of blood pressure variability.

Higher exercise blood pressure represents low cardiorespiratory status of an individual and vice versa. Thechanges in systolic and diastolic blood pressure in response to rhythmic isotonic muscular exercise in sedentaryyoung normotensive Nepalese students were assessed. Normal blood pressure in standing posture in maleand female subjects are about 115 / 75 mm of Hg. and 106 / 71 mm of Hg. respectively. Just after the exercisesystolic blood pressure increases moderately in both the sexes, whereas diastolic blood pressure remainsunchanged in most of the females. Diastolic blood pressure is found to be decreased slightly in the males, just after exercise. The present study indicates the cardiorespiratory status of the Napalese medical studentsis within normal range.
