The article considers the problem of the effect of uneven curing caused by the temperature gradient across the thickness of the material on the anisotropy of the strength properties of polymer composite materials. The effect of catalysts on the curing of the epoxy binder EDT-69N, used for the manufacture of multilayer polymer composite materials, was studied. According to dielectric spectrometry, the accelerating effect of the selected compounds on the curing process of the EDT-69N epoxy binder during fiberglass molding has been proved. The possibility of controlling the curing process using catalysts to reduce the influence of the temperature gradient on the anisotropy of the strength properties of the matrix in the manufacture of polymer composite materials is shown.

The rheological properties of polymer composite materials for special purposes in molecular, structural and complex plasticization are investigated. The possibility of approximating the rheological properties of epoxy composites to protect against radiation by a multiplicative polynomial-exponential function is shown (approximation of the functions of two arguments in the form of a product of two one-dimensional functions). Analytical dependences of the viscosity of epoxy binder on temperature and percentage of additive are given. The results of optimization (optimal concentration of plasticizer) are indicated.

A block diagram of the interaction of the main elements of polymer composite materials and a probabilistic model of their functioning are proposed. The double role of the adhesion factor of polymer composite materials is shown and the possibility of its optimization is established. The kinetics of fracture of polymer composite materials is analyzed taking into account the strength of adhesive bonds and prospects for further research are outlined.

The expanding range of components intended for manufacturing products of polymer composite materials is often not accompanied by comprehensive information on the characteristics and recommended technological curing modes. The relevance and practical significance of this investigation are based on the need to predict rational technological modes for curing products of polymer composite materials based on the low-viscosity epoxy binder Etal-Inject-SLM, which is in demand in the manufacture of products from polymer composite materials by cold curing. The purpose of this investigation is to determine kinetic patterns, which allow for predicting the time and degree of curing of the low-viscosity epoxy binder Etal-Inject-SLM for various isothermal curing conditions. The method of differential scanning calorimetry was used to measure the thermal effect of the curing reaction of the Etal-Inject-SLM epoxy binder at various heating rates. Based on the experimental calorimetric data and using the model-free (non-prior) Friedman method, using the specialized software Netzsch Kinetics Neo, the parameters characterizing the formal kinetic laws of the curing process were calculated. This allowed for plotting isothermal and iso-conversion thermokinetic diagrams necessary for predicting the time and degree of curing of the Etal-Inject-SLM binder at different temperatures and curing times. This results can be useful for optimizing technological processes in which the low-viscosity epoxy binder Etal-Inject-SLM is used.
