Some new (4-ferrocenyl)benzoylcyclopropanes were prepared rapidly via a microwave-assisted, one-pot cyclopropanation reaction in the solid state, directly using 4-ferrocenylacetophenone, aldehyde, and sulfur ylide as the starting materials. The main advantages of this procedure are convenient operation, shorter reaction time, lower environmental pollution, and no need to isolate the intermediate product (chalcone) in a separate step.Key words: 4-ferrocenylacetophenone, sulfur ylide, microwave-assisted, one-pot, solid state.

One-pot efficient protocol to the synthesis of 2-amino-5-oxo-4,5-dihydropyrano(3,2-c)chromene-3-carbonitrile derivatives via condensation of various aryl aldehydes, dicyanomethane and 4-hydroxycoumarin in presence of Emim hydroxide as an excellent homogeneous liquid catalyst. The key advantages of this methodology are mild reaction conditions, novel catalyst, short reaction time, eco-friendly, easy work-up procedure and high yield of isolation of derivatives.

A rapid and efficient one-pot protocol has been developed for the synthesis of s-triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4]thiadiazine and s-triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4]thiadiazole nanoarchitectonics through the reaction of s-triazoles with ketones and nitriles in acetic acid containing a catalytic amount of sulfuric acid under microwave irradiation in excellent yields. With this catalytic reaction, the cheap sulfuric acid as well as other acids were examined as catalysts and the highly toxic and irritating haloketones and halonitriles were avoided to form. The effects of microwave power, temperature, time, solvent and catalyst were examined. This method achieved a better performance; e.g., higher yields, shorter reaction time and easier work-up as compared to other conventional methods. Therefore, the proposed method will be readily applicable to the synthesis of biologically important compounds containing s-triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4]thiadiazine and s-triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4]thiadiazole framework.

AbstractStarch was sulphated with pyridine.SO3 complex in the microwaveassisted solid state processes in multimodal microwave oven and, for comparison, also on convectional heating blends of solid reagents. Starch was less hydrolysed in microwave-assisted reactions. The degree of the esterification of the sulphuric acid anhydride depended to a lesser extent on the reaction time and the power applied, and more essentially on the reagent ratio, that is, dose of the sulphating agent. Its higher doses favoured depolymerization and esterification leading to diesters, that is, crosslinking.

: We herein, describe efficient and scalable synthesis of 2,4-diaryl substituted chromene [43-b] pyridine derivatives using multicomponent reaction strategy by microwave irradiation of 4-amino 2-oxo-2H-chromene, aromatic aldehydes and substituted anilines. This synthetic strategy was found to be very useful as it follows environment benign protocol, also it gives good outcome in terms of yield and requires shorter reaction time.

Novel 1,4-pyranonaphthoquinone derivatives were successfully synthesized via the microwave-assisted three-component reaction of 1,4-naphthoquinone, malononitrile, and various arylaldehydes in ethanol in the presence of 4-(dimethylamino)pyridine (DMAP) as a catalyst, and subsequently evaluated in terms of their antimicrobial and antifungal activities. This synthetic procedure has the notable advantages of environmental friendliness, short reaction time, good yield, and convenient operation.
