We compute one-loop threshold corrections toℛ4terms inN=5,6supergravity vacua of Type II superstrings. We then discuss nonperturbative corrections generated by asymmetric D-brane instantons. Finally we derive generating functions for MHV amplitudes at tree level inN=5,6supergravities.

AbstractIn the framework of 2HDM, we explore the wrong-sign Yukawa region with direct and indirect searches up to one-loop level. The direct searches include the latest $$H/A \rightarrow f{\bar{f}}, VV, Vh, hh$$ H / A → f f ¯ , V V , V h , h h reports at current LHC, and the study of indirect Higgs precision measurements works with current LHC, future HL-LHC and CEPC. At tree level of Type-II 2HDM, for degenerate heavy Higgs mass $$m_A=m_H=m_{H^\pm }<800$$ m A = m H = m H ± < 800 GeV, the wrong-sign Yukawa regions are excluded largely except for the tiny allowed region around $$\cos (\beta -\alpha )\in (0.2,0.3)$$ cos ( β - α ) ∈ ( 0.2 , 0.3 ) under the combined Higgs constraints. The excluded region is also nearly independent of parameter $$m_{12}$$ m 12 or $$\lambda v^2=m_A^2-m_{12}^2/(\sin \beta \cos \beta )$$ λ v 2 = m A 2 - m 12 2 / ( sin β cos β ) . The situation changes a lot after including loop corrections to the indirect searches, for example $$m_A=1500 \text {~GeV}$$ m A = 1500 GeV , the region with $$\lambda v^2<0$$ λ v 2 < 0 will be stronger constrained to be totally excluded. Whilst parameter space with $$\lambda v^2>0$$ λ v 2 > 0 would get larger survived wrong-sign region for $$m_A=800 ~\text {~GeV}$$ m A = 800 GeV compared to it at tree level. We also conclude Higgs direct searches works better on constraining $$\lambda v^2 \approx 0$$ λ v 2 ≈ 0 GeV range than theoretical constraints. We also find that the loop-level wrong-sign Yukawa limit only occurs at mass decoupling scale.

Abstract We show that the tree-level S-matrices of the superstring field theories based on the homotopy-algebra structure agree with those obtained in the first-quantized formulation. The proof is given in detail for the heterotic string field theory. The extensions to the type II and open superstring field theories are straightforward.

We compute the effective potential of a system composed of a Dp-brane and a separated [Formula: see text]-brane at tree level in string theory. We show explicitly that the tachyon condenses and that the scalars which describe transverse fluctuations acquire a vev proportional to the distance.

AbstractWe perform a systematic analysis of Standard Model extensions with an additional anomaly-free gauge U(1) symmetry, to generate tree-level Dirac neutrino masses. An anomaly-free symmetry demands nontrivial conditions on the charges of the unavoidable new states. An intensive scan was performed, looking for solutions generating neutrino masses by the type-I and type-II tree-level Dirac seesaw mechanism, via operators with dimension 5 and 6, that correspond to active or dark symmetries. Special attention was paid to the cases featuring no extra massless chiral fermions or multicomponent dark matter with unconditional stability.

A novel contribution to the leptonic CP asymmetries in type II seesaw leptogenesis scenarios is obtained for the cases in which flavor effects are relevant for the dynamics of leptogenesis. In the so-called flavored leptogenesis regime, the interference between the tree-level amplitude of the scalar triplet decaying into two leptons and the one-loop wave function correction with leptons in the loop, leads to a new nonvanishing CP asymmetry contribution. The latter conserves total lepton number but violates lepton flavor. Cases in which this novel contribution may be dominant in the generation of the baryon asymmetry are briefly discussed.

We obtain the effective potential of the type-II superstring with broken supersymmetry due to twisted toroidal compactification of one of the string coordinates. Supersymmetry breaking of this type is shown to yield non-vanishing contact interactions among the massless modes at genus-1 order, thus dynamically providing the theory with a nontrivial effective potential. We argue that, if for a general compactification scheme the sum of this potential and tree level contributions has a minimum(zero total tadpole), this would provide us with a self-consistent criterion for selecting true string vacua.

Motivated by precision counting of BPS black holes, we analyze six-derivative couplings in the low energy effective action of three-dimensional string vacua with 16 supercharges. Based on perturbative computations up to two-loop, supersymmetry and duality arguments, we conjecture that the exact coefficient of the \nabla^2(\nabla\phi)^4∇2(∇ϕ)4 effective interaction is given by a genus-two modular integral of a Siegel theta series for the non-perturbative Narain lattice times a specific meromorphic Siegel modular form. The latter is familiar from the Dijkgraaf-Verlinde-Verlinde (DVV) conjecture on exact degeneracies of 1/4-BPS dyons. We show that this Ansatz reproduces the known perturbative corrections at weak heterotic coupling, including tree-level, one- and two-loop corrections, plus non-perturbative effects of order e^{-1/g_3^2}e−1/g32. We also examine the weak coupling expansions in type I and type II string duals and find agreement with known perturbative results, . In the limit where a circle in the internal torus decompactifies, our Ansatz predicts the exact \nabla^2 F^4∇2F4 effective interaction in four-dimensional CHL string vacua, along with infinite series of exponentially suppressed corrections of order e^{-R}e−R from Euclideanized BPS black holes winding around the circle, and further suppressed corrections of order e^{-R^2}e−R2 from Taub-NUT instantons. We show that instanton corrections from 1/4-BPS black holes are precisely weighted by the BPS index predicted from the DVV formula, including the detailed moduli dependence. We also extract two-instanton corrections from pairs of 1/2-BPS black holes, demonstrating consistency with supersymmetry and wall-crossing, and estimate the size of instanton-anti-instanton contributions.
