This paper takes Bao Steel logistics automated warehouse system as an example. The premise is to maintain the focus of the shelf below half of the height of the shelf. As a result, the cost time of getting or putting goods on the shelf is reduced, and the distance of the same kind of goods is also reduced. Construct a multiobjective optimization model, using genetic algorithm to optimize problem. At last, we get a local optimal solution. Before optimization, the average cost time of getting or putting goods is 4.52996 s, and the average distance of the same kinds of goods is 2.35318 m. After optimization, the average cost time is 4.28859 s, and the average distance is 1.97366 m. After analysis, we can draw the conclusion that this model can improve the efficiency of cargo storage.

As being one of the most crucial steps in the design of embedded systems, hardware/software partitioning has received more concern than ever. The performance of a system design will strongly depend on the efficiency of the partitioning. In this paper, we construct a communication graph for embedded system and describe the delay-related constraints and the cost-related objective based on the graph structure. Then, we propose a heuristic based on genetic algorithm and simulated annealing to solve the problem near optimally. We note that the genetic algorithm has a strong global search capability, while the simulated annealing algorithm will fail in a local optimal solution easily. Hence, we can incorporate simulated annealing algorithm in genetic algorithm. The combined algorithm will provide more accurate near-optimal solution with faster speed. Experiment results show that the proposed algorithm produce more accurate partitions than the original genetic algorithm.

A problem for drainage systems managers is the increase in extreme rain events that are increasing in various parts of the world. Their occurrence produces hydraulic overload in the drainage system and consequently floods. Adapting the existing infrastructure to be able to receive extreme rains without generating consequences for cities’ inhabitants has become a necessity. This research shows a new way to improve drainage systems with minimal investment costs, using for this purpose a novel methodology that considers the inclusion of hydraulic control elements in the network, the installation of storm tanks and the replacement of pipes. The presented methodology uses the Storm Water Management Model for the hydraulic analysis of the network and a modified Genetic Algorithm to optimize the network. In this algorithm, called the Pseudo-Genetic Algorithm, the coding of the chromosomes is integral and has been used in previous studies of hydraulic optimization. This work evaluates the cost of the required infrastructure and the damage caused by floods to find the optimal solution. The main conclusion of this study is that the inclusion of hydraulic controls can reduce the cost of network rehabilitation and decrease flood levels.

Low-carbon production has become one of the top management objectives for every industry. In garment manufacturing, the material distribution process always generates high carbon emissions. In order to reduce carbon emissions and the number of operators to meet enterprises’ requirements to control the cost of production and protect the environment, the paths of material distribution were analyzed to find the optimal solution. In this paper, the model of material distribution to obtain minimum carbon emissions and vehicles (operators) was established to optimize the multi-target management in three different production lines (multi-line, U-shape two-line, and U-shape three-line), while the workstations were organized in three ways: in the order of processes, in the type of machines, and in the components of garment. The NSGA-II algorithm (non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm-II) was applied to obtain the results of this model. The feasibility of the model and algorithm was verified by the practice of men’s shirts manufacture. It could be found that material distribution of multi-line layout produced the least carbon emissions when the machines were arranged in the group of type.

Abstract Multiobjective optimization is the optimization with several conflicting objective functions. However, it is generally tough to find an optimal solution that satisfies all objectives from a mathematical frame of reference. The main objective of this article is to present an improved proximal method involving quasi-distance for constrained multiobjective optimization problems under the locally Lipschitz condition of the cost function. An instigation to study the proximal method with quasi distances is due to its widespread applications of the quasi distances in computer theory. To study the convergence result, Fritz John’s necessary optimality condition for weak Pareto solution is used. The suitable conditions to guarantee that the cluster points of the generated sequences are Pareto–Clarke critical points are provided.

In civil engineering, earthwork, prior to the construction of most engineering projects, is a lengthy and time-consuming work involving iterative processes. The cost of many AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) projects is highly dependent on the efficiency of earthworks (e.g. road, embankment, railway and slope engineering). Therefore, designing proper earthwork planning is of importance. This paper simplifies the earthwork allocation problem to Vehicle Route Problem (VRP) which is commonly discussed in the field of transportation and logistics. An optimization model for the earthwork allocation path based on the modified Genetic Algorithm with a self-adaptive mechanism is developed to work out the global optimal hauling path for earthwork. The research results also instruct the initial topographic shaping of the Winter Olympic Skiing Courses Project. Furthermore, this optimization model is highly compatible with other evolutionary algorithms due to its flexibility, therefore, further improvement in this model is feasible and practical.

Under the background of huge amounts of data in large-scale power grid, the active power optimization calculation is easy to fall into local optimal solution, and meanwhile the calculation demands a higher processing speed. Aiming at these questions, the farmer fishing algorithm which is applied to solve the problem of optimal distribution of active load for coal-fired power units is used to improve the cloud adaptive genetic algorithm (CAGA) for speeding up the convergence phase of CAGA. The concept of cloud computing algorithm is introduced, and parallel design has been done through MapReduce graphs. This method speeds up the calculation and improves the effectiveness of the active load optimization allocation calculation.

This paper builds a multiobjective optimization model for solving the taxi carpooling with detour problem and designs a genetic algorithm to determine a fair pricing scheme for riders and drivers. The researches show that it is feasible to share a taxi with detour. It is the key to determine appropriate carpooling payment ratio and detour carpooling payment ratio. The ratio of detour distance to travel distance has an important influence on detour carpooling. It should be limited to less than certain values. Payment ratios and the maximum value of the ratio of detour distance to travel distance are determined by the method proposed in this paper. The method can ensure benefits of passengers and drivers, which makes detour carpooling a reality. These conclusions and the method have a certain guiding significance for formulating taxi policy.

With the wide application of UAV in the scientific research,its route planning is becoming more and more important. In order to design the best route planning when UAV operates in the field, this paper mainly puts to use the simple genetic algorithm to design 3D-route planning. It primarily introduces the advantages of genetic algorithm compared to others on the designing of route planning. The improvement of simple genetic algorithm is because of the safety of UAV when it flights higher, and the 3D-route planning should include all the corresponding areas. The simulation results show that: the improvement of simple genetic algorithm gets rid of the dependence of parameters, at the same time it is a global search algorithm to avoid falling into the local optimal solution. Whats more, it can meet the requirements of the 3D-route planning design, to the purpose of regional scope and high safety.

Horizontal manufacturing collaborative alliance is a dispersed enterprise community consisting of several enterprises which produce the same kind of products. To correctly assign order among member companies of horizontal manufacturing collaborative alliance is one of the most important ways to improve the agility and competitiveness of manufacturing enterprises. For the order allocation problem, a bi-objective optimization model is developed to minimize the comprehensive cost and balance the production loads among the selected manufacturing enterprises. Non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) is applied to solve the optimization functions. The optimal solution set of Pareto is obtained. The simulation results indicate that the proposed model and algorithm is able to obtain satisfactory solutions.
