Ethnicity and governing party support in Africa: A longitudinal multilevel analysis

Historically, ethnicity has been considered to play a fundamental role in voting behaviour in Africa. However, researchers on the issue have found contradictory conclusions. The most recent research concludes that the African voter is more rational than expected. Overall ethnicity seems to be less influential than theory used to suggest. Against this background, this paper analyses vote for governing party in Africa and presents evidence that the method and data set used will have an important influence upon the final result. The research takes form of a quantitative analysis making extensive use of survey data from 2005 to 2019. Results indicate that ethnicity, although not exclusively, is still an explanatory factor. At a glance, African vote is rationally ethnic.

The Spatially Inhomogeneous Influence of Snow on the Radial Growth of Schrenk Spruce (Picea schrenkiana Fisch. et Mey.) in the Ili-Balkhash Basin, Central Asia

Snow has an important impact on forest ecosystems in mountainous areas. In this study, we developed 14 tree-ring-width chronologies of Schrenk spruce (Picea schrenkiana Fisch. et Mey.) for the Ili-Balkhash Basin (IBB), Central Asia. We analyzed the response of radial growth to temperature, precipitation and snow parameters. The results show that previous winter and current summer precipitation have an important influence on the radial growth of P. schrenkiana. Further, we find spatially inhomogeneous effects of snow on subsequent growing-season tree growth in IBB. The radial growth response of P. schrenkiana to snow shows a weak–strong–weak trend from west to east across the Ili-Balkhash Basin. This spatial difference is mainly related to precipitation, as snow has little effect on tree growth in regions that receive more precipitation. Thus, winter snow has an important influence on the radial growth of trees in regions that receive limited amounts of precipitation.

Analysis of Hydraulic Fracture Morphology and Propagation under Different Perforation Azimuth Angles

Perforation azimuth has an important influence on the nucleation, propagation path and morphology of hydraulic fractures. In this paper, the true triaxial hydraulic fracturing simulation experimental system is used to analyze the hydraulic fracture morphology and propagation path under different perforation azimuth angles. With the increase of the azimuth angle of perforation, the stable fracture propagation pressure of the fracturing sample also increases. When the azimuth angle of perforation is 0°, the propagation pressure is about 18 MPa, and when the azimuth angle of perforation is 90°, the propagation pressure is about 26.5 MPa, increasing by nearly 47.22%.

ROTATION JOINTS FRICTION IN A TRANSVERSAL MOBILE COUPLING

The transversal mobile couplings are used in movement and torque transmission between two main shafts having parallel axis, with the possibility to undertake misalignments in the transversal plane. These shaft misalignments are usually named transversal movements. The paper presents, starting from some kinematic aspects regarding relative movements between the coupling parts, the kinematic equations useful in determining position of the intermediary elements, depending by the transversal misalignments. Following this, using the inside relative movement in rotation joints between parts and corresponding adequate materials, the friction coefficient is studied. The friction which appears in coupling’s rotation joints between the involved parts has an important influence on their dynamic behaviour, wear and lifetime. The most significant friction and also wear is given by the alternant rotation movements in joints between parts, at the ends of their angular stroke. Due to this, the study of the friction between some materials to be used in coupling manufacturing is required, but also difficult because of some particularities, as reduced rotation in joints, for reduced transversal misalignments between the main shafts. There are presented, in the paper final part, the results and conclusions.

In practice, yajna is not only measured by material things, but yajna can also be offered in a non-material or spiritual form. The concept of yajna can not only be seen and learned from the implementation of the ceremony, but the concept of yajna also contained in many Hindu sacred literature such as Varaha Purana. Varaha Purana is a sacred text that tells about the greatness of Lord Vishnu. In this text Lord Vishnu is incarnated in the form of a wild boar. Varaha purana has a connection with Varaha Yajna's conception, which yajna here has dynamic power in the creation of the cosmos. While varaha is the power that lifts the earth from destruction and destruction. The concept of yajna is widely discussed in this Purana. Various types of yajna are explained in this purana such as worshiping Lord Vishnu, giving love to parents, sharing alms with poor people, carrying out ceremonies to ancestors, and doing Dana Punia (good and holy gift). Yajna itself has a very big impact and influence on social life in society, religius life on each individual or group and also the impact of harmony. The method used in this research is descriptive method that will systematically describe the concept of yajna in Varaha Purana.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>

Speciation in CO2-loaded aqueous solutions of sixteen triacetoneamine-derivates (EvAs) and elucidation of structure-property relationships

The speciation in CO2-loaded aqueous solutions of 16 different derivates of triacetoneamine (EvAs) was investigated in a comprehensive NMR-spectroscopic study. About 350 experiments were carried out for CO2-loadings up to 3 moles CO2 per mole amine, temperatures between 20 °C and 100 °C, and a mass fraction of EvA in the unloaded solvent of 0.1 g/g. The observed CO2-containing species were primary and secondary carbamates, alkylcarbonate, (bi)carbonate, and molecular CO2. Some EvAs can form zwitterions with a ring structure, which have an important influence on the speciation. From the comprehensive set of data, relationships between the chemical structure of the EvAs and the observed speciation in aqueous solution were established. These results were related to application properties of the EvAs that were taken from previous work. Based on the findings, some general guidelines for the design of new amines were derived and applied for proposing new amines for CO2-absorption.

The discoveries of monetary treasures, consisting of coins dating from the time of Mircea cel Batran, spread throughout Dobrogea, prove the prosperity of the province during the time of the great Voivode, achieved through the intense trade of goods that took place and the important role the Romanian currency played in trade.

European union's goal is to eliminate hazard emission up to 2050. Main field of acting towards this goal is road traffic. Diesel engines has important influence at personal and transport vehicles. Most of heavy trucks and buses are propelled with diesel engines beacause of their reliability, fuel efficiency and tourqe. These engines are simple to maintain, cheap to produce and extremly durable. Main propblem with diesel engines are solid hazard particles emission and nitrosoxide. Health expets are concluded that these hazards effects human health, as well damaging ozone layer in athmosphere and create acid rains.
