This paper aims at monitoring the improvement of sandy soil properties with biocementation through the microbially induced calcite precipitation (MICP) method with reaction accelerations by self-developed soybean urease enzymes. In this study, the concentration of calcium ions (Ca2+ ions as CaCl2) is varied at 50, 100, 250, and 500 mM to determine an optimum shear strength. The self-developed soybean urease enzymes of 20% by volume (v/v) are used to accelerate the MICP reaction to finish within 7 days. Based on real-time monitoring bender element system and direct shear tests, the optimum Ca2+ concentration is found as 250 mM. However, a detrimental effect occurs in case of high concentration of Ca2+ as CaCl2 (500 mM) because of solution acidification from high Cl− concentration. This condition lowers CaCO3 precipitation causing the reduction of biocementation process. At equivalent shear modulus, the biocementation time of MICP-based sand with acceleration by urease enzymes is about 10 times faster than that without. Using spectrophotometer and pH meter, the ammonification rate and the solution pH of biocemented sand with acceleration by urease enzymes for 3 days are found relatively higher than those without urease enzymes for 40 days. The analyses by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirm not only the occurrence of CaCO3 binding sand particles together but also the improvement of physical strengths of sandy soil samples with the MICP-based urease enzymatic acceleration method. These results introduce an option to accelerate biocemented sandy soil improvement.

Several methods have been established for their various potential applications as soil improvement technique, and recently the application of grouting technique using biological process have been proposed. This study discussed the applicability of enzyme-mediated calcite precipitation (EMCP) in improving the shear strength parameters of sandy soil.  In this study, soil specimens were prepared and treated with the grouting solutions composed of urea, calcium chloride, magnesium sulfate and enzyme of urease. Evolutions in the cohesion and internal friction angle of the improved soil were examined through the direct shear tests. The presence of the precipitated materials, comprising 4.1 percent of the soil mass of the treated sand, generated a cohesion of 53 kPa. However, contrary to the improvement of cohesion, the friction angle is relatively constant. It indicated that the application of the EMCP technique has no significant impact on the friction angle

When real-time systems are modeled as timed automata, different time scales may lead to substantial fragmentation of the symbolic state space. Exact acceleration solves the fragmentation problem without changing system reachability. The relatively mature technology of exact acceleration has been used with an appended cycle or a parking cycle, which can be applied to the calculation of a single acceleratable cycle model. Using these two technologies to develop a complex real-time model requires additional states and consumes a large amount of time cost, thereby influencing acceleration efficiency. In this paper, a complex real-time exact acceleration method based on an overlapping cycle is proposed, which is an application scenario extension of the parking-cycle technique. By comprehensively analyzing the accelerating impacts of multiple acceleratable cycles, it is only necessary to add a single overlapping period with a fixed length without relying on the windows of acceleratable cycles. Experimental results show that the proposed timed automaton model is simple and effectively decreases the time costs of exact acceleration. For the complex real-time system model, the method based on an overlapping cycle can accelerate the large scale and concurrent states which cannot be solved by the original exact acceleration theory.

The real-time system is now used on many fields, such as telecommunication, military, information system, evenmedical to get information quickly, on time and accurate. Needless to say, a real-time system will always considerthe performance time. In our application, we define the time target/deadline, so that the system should execute thewhole tasks under predefined deadline. However, if the system failed to finish the tasks, it will lead to fatal failure. In other words, if the system cannot be executed on time, it will affect the subsequent tasks. In this paper, wepropose a real-time system for sending data to find effectiveness and efficiency. Sending data process will beconstructed in MATLAB and sending data process has a time target as when data will send.

In this paper, we proposed an approach to detect oilseed rape pests based on deep learning, which improves the mean average precision (mAP) to 77.14%; the result increased by 9.7% with the original model. We adopt this model to mobile platform to let every farmer able to use this program, which will diagnose pests in real time and provide suggestions on pest controlling. We designed an oilseed rape pest imaging database with 12 typical oilseed rape pests and compared the performance of five models, SSD w/Inception is chosen as the optimal model. Moreover, for the purpose of the high mAP, we have used data augmentation (DA) and added a dropout layer. The experiments are performed on the Android application we developed, and the result shows that our approach surpasses the original model obviously and is helpful for integrated pest management. This application has improved environmental adaptability, response speed, and accuracy by contrast with the past works and has the advantage of low cost and simple operation, which are suitable for the pest monitoring mission of drones and Internet of Things (IoT).

Sub-surface pressure (SSP) data from tide gauges at three bases on the Pacific coast of the Antarctic Peninsula, together with SSP information from a bottom pressure recorder deployed on the south side of the Drake Passage, have been used to study the relationships between SSP, Drake Passage transport, and the strength of Southern Ocean zonal winds as represented by the Southern Annular Mode. High correlations were obtained between all parameters, confirming results obtained previously with independent data sets, and demonstrating the value of information from the permanent Rothera base, the southern-most site considered. These are important findings with regard to the design, installation and maintenance of observation networks in Antarctica. In particular, they provide the necessary justification for Antarctic Peninsula tide gauge infrastructure investment in the lead up to International Polar Year. Data delivery from Rothera and Vernadsky is currently being improved and should soon enable the first near real-time system for monitoring Drake Passage transport variability on intraseasonal timescales, an essential component of a Southern Ocean Observing System.
