The arrival of big data era of internet of vehicles promotes the rapid development of logistics industry, which also indirectly leads to the high traffic accident rate, resulting in huge casualties and property losses. Driving behavior is considered the most central factor leading to traffic accidents. Therefore, a scientific and effective method for evaluating the safety of commercial vehicle driving behavior is urgently needed. In this study, a comprehensive evaluation model of driving behavior security based on multimembership function is proposed, and entropy weight method (EWM), analytic hierarchy process (AHP), and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation algorithm are integrated. Firstly, the evaluation system of commercial vehicle safety of driving behavior is established. Secondly, the weight vector of each evaluation index is determined by combining EW-AHP to eliminate the subjectivity of the traditional AHP algorithm. Then, the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation matrix is calculated based on the multimembership function and fuzzy mathematics theory, and the quantitative evaluation of driving behavior safety is realized based on the matrix. Finally, the real road vehicle driving data and driving behavior data are verified by experiments. The experimental results show that the model can accurately and reasonably evaluate the safety of driving behavior, which is of great significance to improve road traffic safety.

Under the background of the rapid development of Internet technology, the emergence of Internet platform accelerates the industrial agglomeration. As a chain connecting the material circulation between industries, the rise of logistics industry is inevitable. As a key link of logistics industry, transportation, along with the rise of logistics industry, has led to an increase in traffic accidents year by year. Therefore, based on the national road traffic accident data from 2006 to 2019, this paper uses SPSS 26.0 to analyse the accident incidence, casualties and direct property loss indicators of different regions and occupation, and study the characteristics of perpetrators and casualties. The results show that the traffic accidents in the whole country show a downward trend, but they are unbalanced. Workers and farmers accounted for the largest proportion, but the death and injury rate showed a downward trend. Other showed an upward trend in the past five years, especially in the delivery industry. Future road traffic safety management should take corresponding measures to reduce the accident rate from the perspective of the development of related industries.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to perform fine classification of road traffic visibility based on the characteristics of driving behavior under different visibility conditions. Design/methodology/approach A driving simulator experiment was conducted to collect data of speed and lane position. ANOVA was used to explore the difference in driving behavior under different visibility conditions. Findings The results show that only average speed is significantly different under different visibility conditions. With the visibility reducing, the average vehicle speed decreases. The road visibility conditions in a straight segment can be divided into five levels: less than 20, 20-30, 35-60, 60-140 and more than 140 m. The road visibility conditions in a curve segment can be also divided into four levels: less than 20, 20-30, 35-60 and more than 60 m. Originality/value A fine classification of road traffic visibility has been performed, and these classifications help to establish more accurate control measures to ensure road traffic safety under low-visibility conditions.

With the rapid development of motorization in our country, gated communities have become the obstacle of the development of urban traffic network. In this paper, focusing on the impact of gated communities on the traffic situation in surrounding area before and after it is opened, we firstly establish a comprehensive evaluation system by fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method and then build up the improved NS model based on Cellular Automata, which put forward the concept of internal road sharing rate in communities. Finally, we select the urban district of different types and surrounding roads in Shanghai as a case, and through simulation and evaluation, we found that the opening of communities is feasible. What’s more, compared with gated communities, the two-way 2-lane urban opening communities have the most optimal effect on improving road capacity.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to construct a novel grey incidence evaluation model to investigate a scientific and effective evaluation system of regional road traffic safety. Design/methodology/approach To provide a method for the evaluation of regional road traffic safety, the grey incidence feature vector method is employed to construct the evaluation index system for regional road traffic safety and then the index weights are calculated with Shannon entropy method. In this paper, the grey incidence feature vector method and grey incidence analysis are utilised to construct evaluation index systems for regional road traffic safety and determine the index weights. Then a grey incidence-ideal point method is used to establish a novel evaluation model for regional road traffic safety. To thoroughly investigate the road traffic safety in one region, the data of 13 cities in Jiangsu province is gathered, using the grey clustering and grey incidence-ideal point method to obtain the ranking results of the 13 cities. Findings The results provide a basic analysis of the present situation and show the differences for these regions based on the proposed model, according to which several solutions are proposed, aiming to improve regional road traffic safety situation. Practical implications The method exposed in the paper can be used to deal with the problems of the evaluation of regional road traffic safety. Originality/value The paper succeeds in understanding the status quo and implementing effective road traffic safety management based on the proposed model.

Automated driving offers great possibilities in traffic safety advancement. However, evidence of safety cannot be provided by current validation methods. One promising solution to overcome the approval trap (Winner, 2015) could be the scenario-based approach. Unfortunately, this approach still results in a huge number of test cases. One possible way out is to show the current, incorrect path in the argumentation and strategy of vehicle automation, and focus on the systemic mechanisms of road traffic safety. This paper therefore argues the case for defining relevant scenarios and analysing them systemically in order to ultimately reduce the test cases. The relevant scenarios are based on the strengths and weaknesses, in terms of the driving task, for both the human driver and automation. Finally, scenarios as criteria for exclusion are being proposed in order to systemically assess the contribution of the human driver and automation to road safety.

In the College, performance evaluation system is directly related to the harmonious development of the school. Taking into account the factors in the evaluation system is fuzzy, so this paper uses fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model. But the model is too subjective, so this paper combines neural network and data envelopment analysis method, which ensures that fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model is reasonable and scientific, and good school development and teacher self-interest. The performance assessment process, not only enables the combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis, but also fair and reasonably reflect the achievements of teachers, while this method is easy to use, wide application, and can be well applied in practice.

AbstractCOVID-19 has affected every sector of our society, among which human mobility is taking a dramatic change due to quarantine and social distancing. We investigate the impact of the pandemic and subsequent mobility changes on road traffic safety. Using traffic accident data from the city of Los Angeles and New York City, we find that the impact is not merely a blunt reduction in traffic and accidents; rather, (1) the proportion of accidents unexpectedly increases for “Hispanic” and “Male” groups; (2) the “hot spots” of accidents have shifted in both time and space and are likely moved from higher-income areas (e.g., Hollywood and Lower Manhattan) to lower-income areas (e.g., southern LA and southern Brooklyn); (3) the severity level of accidents decreases with the number of accidents regardless of transportation modes. Understanding those variations of traffic accidents not only sheds a light on the heterogeneous impact of COVID-19 across demographic and geographic factors, but also helps policymakers and planners design more effective safety policies and interventions during critical conditions such as the pandemic.
