An Industrial firewall is a system used to supervise and regulate traffic to and from a network for the purpose of securing appliances on a network. It analyzes the data passing through it to an already defined surveillance criteria or protocols, discarding data that does not meet the protocol’s requirements. In effect, it is a filter preventing undesirable network traffic and selectively limiting the type of transmission that occurs between a secured transmission line. In this research paper a SCADA based Firewall is implemented for protection of the data transmission to a PLC, against external hacking devices. This firewall is virtually exposed to several external hackers and the degree of vulnerability is carefully studied, in order to develop an ideal Firewall.

The XCP(eXpendable Current Profiler, XCP) is a one-time use of the current profiler observation instruments which is cheap, fast access to the parameters of the water velocity profile. The signal processing is an important part of the research of XCP. The paper discusses the coding study in the signal processing technology, analysises the interference and noise of the transmission line, uses the interleaved code method for reducing errors to improve the reliability of the communication, and simulates the interleaving encoding and decoding system by the Systemview tool, demonstrates the reliability and feasibility of data transmission by using interleaved coded.

The article presents portable timers-electricity meters (PTEM) which are devices for examining 0.4 kV power lines. There are two developed several versions of the devices: single-phase PTEM used to examine single-phase branch lines to consumers, and three-phase PTEM used for any power line sections. Also, the method to identify sections of power lines with increased electricity losses by means of these devices is presented. The paper considers the application of the three-phase PTEM with Wi-Fi technology to transmit data. Up to six independent three-phase PTEMs with Wi-Fi technology can be installed at different points of the power transmission line and transmit measured data in real time to the central unit. The use of these devices allows determining both technological and commercial losses of electricity in different power line sections and draw conclusions about whether these losses are overestimated. On the basis of this, measures are taken to reduce losses.

Power transmission line monitoring is a general appellation of automated monitoring and scientific management for power transmission line by advanced techniques, and it’s an important basis for achieving smart grid. Its data transmission system is divided into access network and data network, the access network consists of a variety of terminals, tower nodes and aggregation nodes, which includes on-site and remote networks. The application of flexible and reliable network would guarantee to achieve a high-speed, reliable and transparent data transfer between master station and terminals in the system. According to the data transmission requirements of transmission line condition monitoring system, this paper studies the communication network technologies for access network in the perspective of private and public networks, and after a comparative analysis of these technologies, it proposes a principle of how to select reasonable communication network technologies for different application scenarios.

In view of the practical application, this paper presents a communication system based on IOCP+JSON, using fewer threads to provide services for more users, can solve the user concurrency. Optimize a compression algorithm for JSON data to reduce the data repetition rate and network traffic consumption, apparently shorten the data transmission time and improve the system performance.

An optical subassembly which is suitable for high speed and parallel optical modules was introduced. The optical subassembly has features of low optical coupling loss less than 1.5 dB and wide 3-dB bandwidth more than 20 GHz in the view of the transmission line. And it was fabricated with a vertically stacked structure cost-effectively and precisely.

The Powerline Communications (PLC) technology allows data transmission through electrical wires. Thus the electrical wiring will represent a data transmission channel conformable to the physical layer of the open system interconnection (OSI) model. In this work, the specifications of the Iraqi electrical network were used to model a high-voltage transmission line using a transmission (ABCD) matrix and use it as a communication channel for transmitting data within a narrow band (30-500). The transfer function of the suggested model was derived and its performance analysis was performed to evaluate the Line length effect, load impedance ZL and the source impedance ZS on the channel frequency response. This analysis was done with the help of Matlab16a simulator program.

One of the telecommunication facilities provided by Telkom S.A. is connection to the National and International X.25 data network. This network follows the international data protocol standard based upon the CCITT Recommendation X.25. The network allows data calls to be made from the X.25 user in very much the same fashion as a caller on the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), in that the caller must specify the number of the called user on the network in order to be connected. It is in this environment, specifically in the testing and maintaining of these data circuits, that this study is based.

In view of the problem that the lack of wireless mobile network in remote mountainous areas makes the transmission line online monitoring data transmission difficult, this paper proposes a data transmission scheme using Beidou short message communication. And aiming at the problems of small data transmission and low reliability in Beidou short message communication, a new data coding method is designed. The actual results show that: the proposed transmission line online monitoring system based on Beidou short message communication has a high success rate of transmission line information collection, which is an efficient and reliable scheme for transmission line online monitoring in remote mountainous areas.
