<span>The existing typology established by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the introduction of outcomes-based education (OBE) has created numerous demands and challenges for higher education in the Philippines. Hence, this study analyzed the scope of expertise and experience of Isabela State University-College of Computing Studies, Information and Communication Technology faculty members in the 2nd semester of study year 2018-2019 to identify OBE implementation. In this study, a mixed-method approach was used for data and information collection. Weighted mean was used to interpret the extent of knowledge and actual practice of the faculty members and on the qualitative part, data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The results of this study indicate a great deal of expertise and experience on the implementation of OBE among the faculty members of the College of Computing and Information Communication Technology at Isabela State University Cauayan Campus. The faculty members are well versed in the application and practice of OBE and will continue to contribute to the realization of the goals of OBE by practice.</span>

The emergence of knowledge society globally today has created new challenges for Higher Education (HE) particularly with the development of Information Communication Technology (ICT) at a speed that has no match in history yet HE in Uganda is still lagging behind. The paper aims at unraveling the role and challenges of using ICT in HE of Uganda and education implications in order to provide the way forward with Kyambogo University as a case. This study used a mixed methods approach that combined desk review and interviews. The paper reveals the role of ICT in HE as central in the teaching-learning process, on the learner and learning and on the academic staff and teaching while the challenges as; learners, economy, equipment and academic staff which poses as a drawback in the teaching –learning process. The paper concludes that ICT is central in the teaching-learning process as well as in the management of HE institutions. The way forward rests majorly in the newly created ICT Ministry with effective implementation of ICT Policy 2014 to improve the livelihoods of Ugandans by ensuring the availability of accessible, efficient, reliable and affordable ICT services in which HE will benefit automatically hence its effective application and use in the teaching-learning process.

Abstract The problem of professional training of skilled human personnel in the industry of information communication technology, the urgency of which is recognized at the state level of Ukraine and the world, has been considered. It has been traced that constantly growing requirements of the labour market, swift scientific progress require the use of innovative approaches to the training of future ІТ specialists with the aim to increase their professional level. The content of standards of professional training and development of information technologies specialists in foreign countries, particularly in Japan, has been analyzed and generalized. On the basis of analysis of educational and professional standards of Japan, basic requirements to the engineer in industry of information communication technology in the conditions of competitive environment at the labour market have been comprehensively characterized. The competencies that graduate students of educational qualification level of bachelor in the conditions of new state policy concerning upgrading the quality of higher education have been considered. The constituents of professional competence in the structure of an engineer-programmer’s personality, necessary on different levels of professional improvement of a specialist for the development of community of highly skilled ІТ specialists, have been summarized. Positive features of foreign experience and the possibility of their implementation into the native educational space have been distinguished. Directions for modernization and upgrading of the quality of higher education in Ukraine and the prospects for further scientific research concerning the practice of specialists in information technologies training have been suggested

The Bologna Process, Information and Communication Technology, and market forces have brought manyinnovations and great changes to higher education systems throughout Europe. Reforms in higher educationhave taken a new direction, towards making higher education students more autonomous. However, manycountries have not really adopted this innovative way of teaching and still maintain an old ‘transmission’ stylewhich often entails teachers trying to pour knowledge into the minds of their students. Promoting autonomouslearning (the ability of students to manage their own learning) in higher education is crucial both for theindividual and society, as the idea of an academic student comprises critical reflective thinking and theimportance of becoming an independent learner. This article will discuss the importance of promotingautonomous learning throughout self, peer and co-assessment for higher education quality enhancement. Thepaper will examine the case of International Black Sea University’s MA students enrolled in the Higher EducationManagement program. The analyses of a survey will be used to discuss the significance of autonomous learningfor students and their readiness for self, peer and co-assessment.

In this study, the integration of fuzzy analytic hierarchy processes (FAHPs) and fuzzy overlays in GIS was used to determine appropriate geographic zones for the establishment of knowledge intensive firms in 22 districts of the Tehran metropolis. According to the theoretical background, a number of criteria were selected for the identification of appropriate geographic zones. The results show that among the selected criteria, proximity to existing knowledge intensity firms, and companies providing information and communication technology (ICT) services, higher education and research centers, being close to convenient transportation network and land use have more important role in the location of firms. According to the findings, among 22 regions, regions 3, 7, 6, 1, 2, 10, 4, 11, and 12 are the most desirable ones for the deployment of firms. Ultimately, regions 6, 7, 3, and 1 have received “very high” priority for the deployment of knowledge intensive firms.

<p>Market performance is important to the company's development. This study examines the determinant factors of market performance through information and communication technology (ICT). The probability and simple random sampling methods were used to determine the sample. Furthermore, the research instrument was the questionnaire distributed personally to the respondents. The results show that the market performance of used car showroom MSMEs in the Malang was determined both directly and indirectly by information quality, eReadiness, use of ICTs, and market orientation, which is more dominant. The use of ICTs and market orientation fully and partially mediates the information quality and eReadiness on market performance, respectively.</p>

ICTs in Education refers to the development of information and communications technology specifically for teaching/learning purposes, while the ICTs in education involves the adoption of general components of information and communication technologies in the teaching learning process. The National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NME-ICT), launched in 2009 by the Central Government. Online courses, development of e-content, e-learning, digital libraries, online encyclopaedias, journals, and books would promote learning and make knowledge available to all irrespective of the distance or location or financial resources. Government intervention is necessary so that ICT can be made successful in higher education. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) has the proven power to change the world. This acronym refers to the merging of audiovisual and telephone networks with the computer single unified system of cabling.

Rapid changes in information and communication technology require application of managerial techniques, human resource management and integration of several technologies in library and information Centers. The present research aims at studying the extent of job enlargement in selected eight state university libraries in Kerala. Data of the study was gathered from a total of 266 qualified and permanent library and information science professionals. Analysis of data was done using SPSS and Micro Soft excel. The important finding of the research is that there is no significant level of job enlargement among library and information science professionals. It also finds that job enlargement situation of libraries in the universities in Kerala is low and different. The study reveals that there is significant variation in the level of job enlargement among the university libraries in Kerala. The highest level of job enlargement is found in Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady followed by Kannur University.

In the recent past, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has impacted human lives in multiple dimensions. No aspect of human endeavour is untouched by ICT and education domain is no exception to this. Universities need to leverage ICT to improve the quality and relevance of higher education, which would positively impact the corporates, apart from other sectors. In this context, this chapter provides an innovative model which the universities could adapt and revolutionize the higher education. The best practices being followed by Infosys Limited, the IT corporate giant, narrated in this chapter could be leveraged by the universities in the interest of the learning community, the corporates and the society at large.
