Five new species of chirostylid crustaceans from Taiwan are described. Eumunida chani sp. nov. is characterized by the absence of a pad of densely-packed setae on the pereopod 1, the anterior branchial margin bearing two spines, and the carpus of first pereopod with only two spines. Uroptychus anacaena sp. nov. and U. anatonus sp. nov. are similar but separated from each other by the shape of sternite 4 and relative length of the antennal scale. These species closely resemble U. maori Borradaile, 1916 and U. brucei Baba, 1986, but lack a ventral subterminal spine on the ischium of pereopod 1. Uroptychus orientalis sp. nov. is separated from U. occidentalis Faxon, 1893 by the shorter antennal scale and P2–4 dactyli with ultimate and penultimate spines subequal in size. Uroptychus singularis sp. nov. is distinguished from U. australis (Henderson, 1885) by the single, unpaired terminal spine on the flexor margin of pereopods 2–4.

Two new species of Leptarma, L. dispersum n. sp. and L. reunionense n. sp. are described from Europa Island and Réunion Island, respectively. Genetically, based on the mitochondrial COX1 gene, both species are markedly divergent from other congeneric species. Phylogenetically, L. dispersum n. sp. shows close relationship with L. lenzii (De Man, 1895) while L. reunionense n. sp. clusters with L. aurifrons (Li, Ng & Shih, 2019) and the species pair L. moluccense (De Man, 1892) and L. paucitorum (Rahayu & Ng, 2009). Morphologically, the new species differ most significantly from congeners by the relative length of the ambulatory legs and the shapes of the first gonopods and carapace. After the description of these two new species, the number of species comprised in the genus Leptarma is raised to 20, four of them being distributed in and off East Africa.

We provide a detailed description, including illustrations, of a new species of mysid belonging to the genus Idiomysis W. M. Tattersall, 1922 from Pulau Bum Bum, Sabah, Malaysia. The presence of two segments of antennal scale, a shorter endopod of uropod than the exopod and a pair of minute spines at the apex of the telson distinguishes Idiomysis bumbumiensis sp. nov. from all other species in the genus. The present species is the seventh member of the genus Idiomysis and it is the first described in Southeast Asia. It is also the third species of tribe Anisomysini discovered in Malaysian waters. We include an updated dichotomous key of all Idiomysis species.

The study of material collected during routine monitoring surveys dealing with oil extraction and aquaculture in waters off Myanmar (North Andaman Sea) and in the Gulf of Thailand, respectively, allowed us to analyse the taxonomy and diversity of the polychaete genusTerebellides(Annelida). Three species were found, namelyTerebellidescf.woolawa,Terebellides hutchingsaespec. nov.(a new species fully described and illustrated), andTerebellidessp. (likely a new species, but with only one available specimen). The new species is characterised by the combination of some branchial (number, fusion and relative length of lobes and papillation of lamellae), and thoracic (lateral lobes and relative length of notopodia) characters and is compared with all species described or reported in the SW Indo-Pacific area, as well as with those sharing similar morphological characteristics all around the world. The taxonomic relevance of the relative length of branchial lobes and different types of ciliature in branchial lamellae for species discrimination in the genus is discussed. A key to allTerebellidesspecies described in SE Indo-Pacific waters is presented.

One new species and three new distribution records for the family Crangonidae (Crustacea: Decapoda) are reported from Western Australia. A new species, Philocheras gardenensis sp. nov. is described and illustrated based on specimens collected from the Western Australia. The new species closely resembles Philocheras fasciatus (Risso, 1816), but can be distinguished easily by the absence of lobe-like folds on either side of the middle line of the carapace, the presence of a lateral carina extending from the branchiostegal spine, the longer middorsal carina and distolateral tooth of the antennal scale. A key for the genus Philocheras is provided, including currently, a total of 58 species and subspecies reported worldwide. Range extensions of three Crangonid shrimps are reported within Australia, and they are Philocheras obliquus (Fulton & Grant, 1902), Pontocaris arafurae (Bruce, 1988) and Vercoia gibbosa Baker, 1904.

A new species of Caridina H. M. Edwards, 1837, namely, C. vithuraensis, collected from Kallar, a tributary of Va-manapuram River, Kerala at Vithura is being described in this paper. The species is characterized by : small shrimps hav-ing short rostrum, extending to the tip of 1st segment of antennular peduncle, rarely reaching beyond, rostral formula : 11–19/2–5 (2–5 post-orbital); carpus of 1st pereiopod deeply excavated, 1.3 to 1.45 times as long as broad; dactylus of 3rdpereiopod ends in a terminal spine and with 5–7 accessory spines; dactylus of 5th pereiopod with 24–45 comb-likespinules; appendix interna on endopod of male 1st pleopod is prominent; uropodal diaeresis with 16–20 spines; telson con-ical in shape with 4–6 pairs of spinules on the dorsal and 6–8 spinules at the distal end. The species shows affinities withspecies like C. malayensis Cai et al., 2007; C. congoensis Richard & Clark, 2009 and C. roubaudi Richard & Clark, 2009. However they can be separated based on the specific characters given in Table 1.

Cymbasoma sinopense sp. nov. is described from an adult female collected off the Sinop coast, in the southern Black Sea, Turkey. This is the first species of this genus recorded from the Black Sea coast of Turkey. The new species is a member of the widespread Cymbasoma longispinosum species-group, and it closely resembles C. chelemense Suárez-Morales & Escamilla, 1997 from the Yucatan Peninsula and C. californiense Suárez-Morales & Palomares-García, 1999 from the Gulf of California. This species can be distinguished by a combination of subtle characters, including the body proportions, the structure and armature of the fifth legs, the ornamentation of the genital somite, and the relative length of the ovigerous spines. A previous report of C. longispinosum from the northern Black Sea probably represented a misidentified record of C. sinopense sp. nov. The Mediterranean reports refer to a species that is different from the one of the Black Sea. Comparative comments and data including the main taxonomic characters of members of the Cymbasoma longispinosum species-group are presented. Overall, it is confirmed that records of this species from different geographic areas should be revised carefully because they could represent undescribed species. A key for the identification of the females of the currently known species assigned to the Cymbasoma longispinosum species-group is included.

Acanthocope eleganta sp. nov. is described from the abyssal Southern Ocean near the Southern Ocean Peninsula. The new species differs from others in the following: a slender dorsomedial spine on the pleon anteriorly, a pair of short dorsal spines and long ventral spine on each of pereonites 5 and 6; uropods half as long as the terminal spine of the pleotelson and with a minute exopod. A. annulatus Menzies, 1962 is redescribed; A. galatheae Wolff, 1962, previously known only from the Gulf of Panama and from Angola Basin, is recorded from the northwest Weddell Sea.

Tenagomysis longisquama sp. nov. is described from South Island, New Zealand. T. longisquama is readily distinguished from the other species of Tenagomysis by the elongate antennal scale with an acute apex and the 10to 16-subsegmented carpopropodus of the third to eighth thoracopodal endopods. T. macropsis Tattersall, 1923 and T. producta Tattersall, 1923, and an unidentifiable species, Tenagomysis sp., are also recorded from South Island. A key to the New Zealand species of Tenagomysis is provided.

A new cryptic species of the genus Fejervarya is described from the Chittagong district of Bangladesh. Fejervarya asmati sp. nov. is compared with its morphologically similar and geographically proximate congeners. The species can be readily diagnosed by having the following combination of characters: SVL 29.1– 33.4 mm; butterfly shaped vocal marking present in male; forearm length 70% of hand length; relative length of fingers, shortest to longest: 2 < 4 < 1< 3; nostril much closer to snout tip than eye, nostril–snout length 57% of distance from front of eyes to nostril; nostril–snout length 0.67% of internarial distance; MBE 18% of HL.

AbstractA new species of a parasitic copepod, Acanthochondria helicoleni sp. nov. (Copepoda, Chondracanthidae), is described and illustrated from specimens collected within the branchial chambers of the rubio, Helicolenus lahillei Norman, 1937, from the Argentinean waters. The new species most closely resemble A. serrani Braicovich et Timi, 2009 collected in the same region, but differs in the general measurements and proportions of the body; primarily by the relative length of neck, shape of head, shape and size of genito-abdominal tagma and relative size of the trunk postero-lateral processes.
