Specimens of the spider family Ctenidae from South, East and Southeast Asia were examined. Thirteen new species aredescribed: Anahita jinsi spec. nov. (male, female; China, Sichuan); Ctenus martensi spec. nov. (male; Nepal), Ctenuscladarus spec. nov. (male; Burma), Ctenus theodorianum spec. nov. (male, female; Laos, Oudomxai), Ctenus lishuqiangspec. nov. (female; China, Sichuan), Ctenus holthoffi spec. nov. (male, female; Laos, Champasak), Ctenus bayeri spec.nov. (male; Laos, Champasak); Amauropelma beyersdorfi spec. nov. (male; India, Himachal Pradesh), Amauropelmastaschi spec. nov. (male; India, Uttar Pradesh), Amauropelma ekeftys spec. nov. (male, ?female; India, Meghalaya),Amauropelma hoffmanni spec. nov. (male, female; Laos, Luang Nam Tha), Amauropelma jagelkii spec. nov. (male,female; Laos, Luang Prabang), Amauropelma annegretae spec. nov. (male, female; Laos, Luang Prabang). Ctenus simplexThorell 1897 (Luang Prabang, Vientiane) and C. robustus Thorell 1897 (Luang Nam Tha, Luang Prabang) are recordedfor the first time from Laos, and the female of C. simplex is described for the first time. Ctenus ramosus Thorell 1887, C.robustus and C. palembangensis Strand 1906 as well as internal copulatory structures of Anahita fauna Karsch 1879 areillustrated for the first time. Anahita feai (F.O. Pickard-Cambridge 1902) comb. nov., A. jucunda (Thorell 1897) comb.nov., A. denticulata (Simon 1884) comb. nov., A. smythiesi (Simon 1897) comb. nov. and Amauropelma fungifer (Thorell1890) comb. nov. are transferred from the genus Ctenus. The nomina nova “Ctenus karschi” and “Ctenus tamerlani” proposed by Roewer (1951) are recognised as unavailable and thus invalid names.

Prionocyphon costipennis sp. nov. and P. macrodascilloides sp. nov. are described from North Taiwan. Orientoprionocyphon Klausnitzer is a new synonym of Mescirtes Motschulsky. Prionocyphon herthae Klausnitzer, Prionocyphon laosensis Yoshitomi et Satô, Prionocyphon rutai Klausnitzer, Prionocyphon ruthsteuerae Klausnitzer, Prionocyphon weigeli Klausnitzer, and Prionocyphon yoshitomii Klausnitzer are transferred to Mescirtes. Prionocyphon picigrandis is a new substitute name for Cyphon grande Pic (nec Cyphon grandis Tournier). Prionocyphon minusculus Klausnitzer is transferred to Mescirtes. Prionocyphon ovalis Kiesenwetter is reported from China for the first time. A key to the genera of Scirtidae with modified antennae, and a key to the East and Southeast Asian species of Prionocyphon are included. A catalogue of Mescirtes, Prionocyphon and Prionoscirtes inhabiting East and Southeast Asia is presented.

The powder post beetles (Coleoptera: Bostrichidae) (except Lyctinae) of Yunnan Province in Southwest China are reviewed for the first time. Keys to twenty-six genera and fifty-two species from the Yunnan region are provided. One new genus and seven new species are described: Dinoderus (Dinoderastes) hongheensis sp. nov., Dinoderus (Dinoderastes) nanxiheensis sp. nov., Gracilenta yingjiangensis gen. nov., sp. nov., Calonistes vittatus sp. nov., Calophagus colombiana sp. nov., Xylodrypta guochuanii sp. nov. and Xylodrypta zhenghei sp. nov.. Fourteen species are recorded in China for the first time. The bostrichid fauna of Yunnan is compared with those of the neighbouring bio-geographically related Southeast Asian and Himalayan regions. The fauna has a close affinity with that of tropical Southeast Asia and a much weaker relationship with the Palearctic region. The differences with the Himalayas may reflect the separate evolutionary and complex geological history of the two areas.

Five new pholcid species belonging to Holocneminus Berland, 1942, Khorata Huber, 2005 and Pholcus Walckenaer, 1805 are newly described from Southeast Asia: Holocneminus samanggi Lan & Li sp. nov. (Indonesia, male and female), Khorata kep Lan, Jäger & Li sp. nov. (Cambodia, male), Khorata musee Lan & Li sp. nov. (Thailand, male and female), Pholcus bat Lan & Li sp. nov. (China, male and female), and Pholcus phnombak Lan, Jäger & Li sp. nov. (Cambodia, male and female). Species from the genera Khorata and Pholcus are reported from Cambodia for the first time.

The micropolydesmoid millipede family Haplodesmidae is here recorded from Cambodia for the first time through the discovery of the first, new species of the genus Eutrichodesmus Silvestri, 1910: E. cambodiensissp. nov. This new species is described from two limestone habitats in Kampot Province, based on abundant material. It is easily distinguished from all related congeners by the following combination of characters: body greyish-brown; limbus roundly lobulate; solenomere partially divided from acropodite by a digitiform lobe, but without hairpad. Brief remarks on the previously-proposed “pecularis-group” are provided and a second group, the “demangei-group”, is established and discussed on the basis of morphological evidence, updating the number of recognised species groups of Eutrichodesmus to two. Detailed morphological illustrations, photographs and a distribution map, as well as remarks on its habitat and mating behaviour of the new species are presented. Furthermore, the current distributions of all 55 presently-known species of Eutrichodesmus are provided and a key to all 23 species that occur in mainland Southeast Asia is given.

Pangrapta Hübner, 1818 was erected for the North American species P. decoralis Hübner, 1818 as its type species. The genus Pangrapta presently consists of about 100 species, and is widely distributed in China and surrounding regions, as well as in the New World (Hu & Wang, 2013). In this article, three new species, P. nanlingensis sp. n., P. jianfenglingensis sp. n. and P. hainanensis sp. n., are described from China. Each of them is superficially similar to the species, P. neorecusata (Hu & Wang, 2013), P. perturbans (Walker, 1858) and P. pannosoides (Holloway, 2005), correspondently. The known Southeast Asian species, P. shivula (Guenée, 1852), is reported for the first time from China. Adults and genitalia are illustrated. The type series of all described species (including holotypes) are deposited in Southwest University of Science and Technology (SWUST), Mianyang, China.

The dragon millipede genusDesmoxytess.l. is split into five genera, based on morphological characters and preliminary molecular phylogenetic analyses. Two new species the spider family Anapidae are described from Southeast Asia: Conculus sagadaensis n. sp. from Philippines and Conculus yaoi n. sp. from Indonesia, both described after male specimens. Conculus is reported from Southeast Asia for the first time. Diagnoses and illustrations are provided for two new species. The types are deposited in the Natural History Museum of Sichuan University (NHMSU) in Chengdu, China.

Three new Indo-West Pacific species of pinnotherid crabs are described, one each of Arcotheres, Buergeres and Nepinnotheres. Arcotheres pollus, described from Paway Island, Mergui Archipelago, is most similar to A. boninensis (Stimpson, 1858), A. pernicola (Bürger, 1895) and A. purpureus (Alcock, 1900), sharing a transversely ovate carapace and long, slender, almost styliform dactyli of P4 and 5 that are about twice the length of those of P2 and 3. Buergeres choprai, described from Papua New Guinea, is most similar to B. deccanesis (Chopra, 1931) from eastern India but differentiated by segment proportions and setation of the walking legs. Buergeres tenuipes (Bürger, 1895) is synonymised with B. ortmanni (Bürger, 1895), which is also reported for the first time from Indonesia. A male of an undetermined species of Buergeres from the Philippines, possibly B. ortmanni, is figured and described, documenting the gonopod morphology in Buergeres for the first time. A key to the species of Buergeres based on females is provided. Nepinnotheres fulvia sp. nov. is also described from Papua New Guinea, and resembles N. cardii (Bürger, 1895) from the Philippines and Malaysia but can be distinguished by features of the chelipeds and maxilliped 3.

Five new species of Paravibrissina Shima are described from Southeast Asia and the South Pacific: P. argentifera sp. nov., P. aurigera sp. nov., P. leucogaster sp. nov., P. pacifica sp. nov. and P. parvula sp. nov. Paravibrissina adiscalis infuscata Shima and P. thailandica Shima are synonymized with P. adiscalis Shima (syn. nov). The female, egg and a host are known for the first time for the type species, P. adiscalis. Paravibrissina is moved to the tribe Goniini from its original placement in the Blondeliini and its systematic position is discussed in light of conflicting characters. A key to the known species of Paravibrissina is provided.

Two new species of nereidids, Dendronereis chipolini n. sp. and Neanthes hsinchuensis n. sp., collected from brackish aquaculture ponds near coasts of southern Taiwan and fouling community on docks of the Hsinchu fishing port in northwestern Taiwan, respectively, are described in the present study. Dendronereis chipolini n. sp. differs from its congeners by a combination of number and morphology of branchiae, morphology of neuropodia and form of neuropodial homogomph spinigers. Neanthes hsinchuensis n. sp. can be distinguished from congeners reported from East and Southeast Asia by a combination of numbers of conical paragnaths, morphology of notopodia, the absent/present of prechaetal lobe and forms of neuropodial chaetae. A key to Dendronereis species of the world is included, together with a table of morphological characters of Neanthes species reported from East and Southeast Asia, which have no conical paragnaths on Area V of the pharynx.
