In the current study, two new species of Cosmocercidae nematodes parasitizing the anuran Leptodactylus macrosternum (Leptodactylidae) from two localities in the municipality of Petrolina, sub-middle São Francisco river, state of Pernambuco, Brazil, were described. Oxysomatium petrolinensis n. sp. differs from all congeneric species for having the male caudal papillae distribution pattern unique in this genus, in which the last three pairs of pre-cloacal papillae are located lateroventrally on the anterior border of the cloacal aperture. Additionally, the new species has an unpaired medial precloacal papilla, seven pairs of postcloacal papillae, and a relatively unique spicule size. Oxyascaris caatingae n. sp. differs from all congeneric species mainly for having males with a medial unpaired precloacal papilla and a distribution pattern of caudal papillae unique to this species, being the only species of the genus with adcloacal papillae. The current study proposes the description of Oxysomatium petrolinensis n. sp., fourth species and the first report of this genus in hosts from the Neotropical region. In addition, it describes Oxyascaris caatingae n. sp., which is the fifth species of the genus.

Two new species belonging to the family Steganacaridae are described from Oriental part of China: Plonaphacarus luxiensis sp. nov. differs from Plonaphacarus concavus Liu, Wu & Chen, 2011 by the long and stout interlamellar and lamellar setae, lateral prodorsal carinae absent, exobothridial setae vestigial, anterodorsal part of notogaster not concave dorsally, notogastral setae c1 and anal setae short and spiniform, setae c1 positioned close to anterior border of notogaster and setae d on femora I distanced to distal end of segment; Plonaphacarus hailingensis sp. nov. differs from congeneric species by the presence of heterotrichy of notogastral setae, in which setae c1, c2 and c3 long and flagellate distally, prodorsum with median crista and posterior furrows, sensilli long and setiform, and rostral setae short, spiniform and semi-erect. A key to all known species of Plonaphacarus from China are provided to facilitate identification of this group.

Two new species of Leptarma, L. dispersum n. sp. and L. reunionense n. sp. are described from Europa Island and Réunion Island, respectively. Genetically, based on the mitochondrial COX1 gene, both species are markedly divergent from other congeneric species. Phylogenetically, L. dispersum n. sp. shows close relationship with L. lenzii (De Man, 1895) while L. reunionense n. sp. clusters with L. aurifrons (Li, Ng & Shih, 2019) and the species pair L. moluccense (De Man, 1892) and L. paucitorum (Rahayu & Ng, 2009). Morphologically, the new species differ most significantly from congeners by the relative length of the ambulatory legs and the shapes of the first gonopods and carapace. After the description of these two new species, the number of species comprised in the genus Leptarma is raised to 20, four of them being distributed in and off East Africa.

Two new species of Bohayella Belokobylskij, 1987 from Costa Rica are described: Bohayella geraldinae Kang, sp. nov. and Bohayella hansoni Kang, sp. nov. These are new distribution records for the genus in the Neotropical region. In addition, a key to species of the genus Bohayella of Costa Rica is presented. The current work elevates the number of species included in Bohayella from nine to eleven.

Lepidiella Enderlein, 1937 is a Neotropical genus with 15 species. This paper describes two new species from Brazil, Lepidiella maculosa sp. nov. and Lepidiella wagneri sp. nov., and provides an identification key for males of the genus.

Two new species of Disholcaspis Dalla Torre & Kieffer 1910, Disholcaspis bettyannae and D. bisethiae (Hymenoptera: Cynipidae: Cynipini) are described from Panama. The two new species induce galls on Quercus bumelioides Liebm. and Q. lancifolia Schledl & Cham. (Fagaceae, sect. Quercus, White Oaks). Diagnostic characters, gall descriptions, distribution, biological data, as well as inquiline and parasitoid associated community data of the new species are given. The new species represent the first records of the genus Disholcaspis from the Neotropical region.

Two new species of Larsia Fittkau, 1962 are described and figured as male, pupa and larva. Diagnosis to male of this genus is emended. An annotated checklist of the world’s valid Larsia species is given and keys to pupae and larvae of known species in the Neotropical region are provided.

In this study, two new species of Helobdella leeches, Helobdella octatestisaca n. sp. and Helobdella melananus n. sp., and a newly recorded species, Helobdella europaea, are reported. Morphological characters and DNA barcode analysis were used to identify the three new species. The differences between these species and other morphologically congeneric species were also compared. In addition, the potential ecological impact of these species was discussed and a checklist of the hirudinea fauna in Taiwan, including eight species in Family Glossiphoniidae, four in Hirudinidae, two in Haemopidae, two in Haemadipsidae, and two in Salifidae, was provided.

The genus Sigmatoneura Enderlein is reviewed. Two new species, S. pinbiensis sp. nov. and S. aquilis sp. nov., are described from China. The distribution pattern of the 16 Chinese species is discussed briefly, with a distribution map. Identification keys for males and for females of Chinese species are provided.

A new genus and two new species of Neotropical praying mantids are described: Chromatophotina awajun from Peru and Chromatophotina cofan from Ecuador. Study of the male genitalia suggests that Chromatophotina is a member of the tribe Photinaini, subfamily Photinainae, family Mantidae. Chromatophotina is distinguishable from other Photinainae by several unique characters, including the bright yellow-orange coloration of the metathoracic wings of the females, unique among the Photinainae. Additional remarks on the distribution and systematics of the new genus are also provided.

Rheotanytarsus is a speciose genus, currently composed by more than 100 nominal species distributed worldwide, 19 are known from the Neotropical region, four from South America and only one is registered for Peru. In the present study, a new species is described and illustrated based on males collected in the Peruvian Andes. In addition, the key to the South American species is updated and a distribution map of them is provided. Rheotanytarsus amaru sp. n. is easily distinguished from the congeneric species by the dark general coloration and the hypopygial morphology.
