The Neotropical stolidosomatine genus Pseudosympycnus Robinson (Diptera: Dolichopodidae) is reviewed and contains 12 species, including six new species that herein are described and illustrated: P. araza sp. nov. (Peru, department of Cusco), P. bickeli sp. nov. (Brazilian States of Pará and Roraima), P. latitibia sp. nov. (Brazilian States of Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo), P. maroaga sp. nov (Brazilian State of Amazonas), P. robinsoni sp. nov. (Brazilian State of Acre), and P. sehnali sp. nov. (Brazilian State of Amazonas). All species are diagnosed, male and female terminalia of the genus are illustrated for the first time, high-resolution images of relevant characters are presented and an identification key to males is provided.

The genus Exocora Millidge, 1991 is recorded from Brazil for the first time. Six new species herein are described and illustrated, all presenting male and female, from Atlantic Forest area. Exocora phoenix n. sp. is recorded in the states of Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Paraná and Santa Catarina, E. girotii n. sp. in the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Paraná and Santa Catarina, E. ribeiroi n. sp. in São Paulo, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, E. medonho n. sp. in Rio de Janeiro, E. nogueirai n. sp. in São Paulo and E. una n. sp. in Bahia.

The genus Coelinius (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Alysiinae) is reported for the first time from Brazil and the Neotropical region. The genus occurs in southeastern Brazil, in the states of Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. Four new species of Coelinius are described and illustrated: C. canastra sp. nov, C. itamonte sp. nov., C. kali sp. nov. and C. lux sp. nov.

The spider genus Stemmops O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1894, currently comprises 22 described species. Spiders of this genus are mainly known from the Neotropical Region, but are poorly studied in Brazil. In this paper five new species of Brazilian Stemmops are described: Stemmops murici new species; Stemmops carauari new species; Stemmops carajas new species; Stemmops pains new species, and Stemmops guapiacu new species. Additionally, new records from Brazil are provided for Stemmops carius Marques & Buckup, 1996 from state of São Paulo; Stemmops belavista Marques & Buckup, 1996 from Mato Grosso do Sul; and Stemmops vicosa Levi, 1964 from Alagoas. The species Stemmops servus Levi, 1964 (known from Panama) is recorded for the first time in Brazil from states of Amazonas, Paraíba, Alagoas, Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro.

This study aimed to raise and address nomenclatural issues surrounding Neotropical species in the genus Gnamptogenys, in addition to describing new species accumulated in myrmecological collections. New and reinstated names recognized here include G. pernambucana (Santschi) sp. rev., stat.n., G. lenis sp. n., G. latistriata sp. n., and G. avus sp. n. The queen and intercaste of G. lavra Lattke and the queen of G. pernambucana are described for the first time. For these five species we provide complete descriptions and diagnoses, comments on taxonomy and natural history, distribution data, and high-resolution images, including the first images of G. lavra. An updated identification key for all the Neotropical species of Gnamptogenys is also provided, including the new and revived species as well as G. aspera Morgan and G. pilosa Lattke, not present in previous keys for the genus.

A new species, Tropidion flechtmanni, is described, illustrated, and included in a previous key. Rhinotragus marginatus Perty, 1832 (currently considered a subspecies of R. dorsiger), Rhinotragus dorsiger var. collaris Melzer, 1930, Rhinotragus dorsiger var. vittatus Melzer, 1930, Rhinotragus dorsiger var. amparensis Melzer, 1930, and Rhinotragus apicalis Guérin-Méneville, 1844 are formally synonymized with R. dorsiger Germar, 1823. Variation in pubescence pattern in Pirangoclytus purus (Bates, 1870) is reported, and the species is recorded for the first time in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Variation in the color of the integument and pubescence in Hemicladus thomsonii Buquet, 1857 is reported, and the species is recorded for the Brazilian states of Mato Grosso do Sul, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. New state records are provided for Amorupi fulvoterminata (Berg, 1889), Eclipta vitticollis (Bates, 1873), Steirastoma stellio Pascoe, 1866, Cicuiara nitidula (Bates, 1866), Hesycha inermicollis (Breuning, 1940), and Polyrhaphis gracilis Bates, 1862.

Neomuscina Townsend includes 41 species distributed throughout the Nearctic and Neotropical Regions. Although the genus has a large number of species, it has been ignored and its taxonomy is confusing and has many flaws. In this work we analyzed the following species recorded for Brazil: Neomuscina atincta Snyder, N. atincticosta Snyder, N. capalta Snyder, N. currani Snyder, N. douradensis Lopes & Khouri, N. goianensis Lopes & Khouri, N. inflexa (Stein), N. instabilis Snyder, N. mediana Snyder, N. mimosa Lopes & Khouri, N. neosimilis Snyder, N. nigricosta Snyder, N. paramediana Lopes & Khouri, N. pictipennis pictipennis (Bigot), N. ponti Lopes & Khouri, N. sanespra Snyder, N. schadei Snyder, N. similata Snyder, N. stabilis (Stein), N. transporta Snyder, N. vitoriae Lopes & Khouri and N. zosteris (Shannon & Del Ponte). Neomuscina nigricosta and N. transporta are new distribution records for Brazil. Three new species are described: Neomuscina anajeensis sp. nov. from Anagé (Bahia), Neomuscina maculata sp. nov. from Botelhos (Minas Gerais) and Neomuscina snyderi sp. nov. from Mata de São João (Bahia). An identification key based on the morphological characters of both male and female is provided. Species distributions are discussed and updated, and the number of species now recorded for Brazil is 29.

A New Species

In this paper a new species of Cryptachaea Archer, 1946 based on males and females is described from Brazilian caves: Cryptachaea pilar Santanna & Rodrigues, new species from the states of Minas Gerais and São Paulo. The females of Cryptachaea parana (Levi, 1963) and C. schneirlai (Levi, 1959) are described and illustrated for the first time. Cryptachaea uviana (Levi, 1963) is synonymized with C. migrans (Keyserling, 1884). The species Cryptachaea alacris (Keyserling, 1884), C. benivia Rodrigues & Poeta, 2015, C. parana (Levi, 1963) and C. schneirlai (Levi, 1959) are recorded for the first from Brazil; and C. migrans for the first time from Bolivia. Additionally, new records from Brazilian caves are provided for Cryptachaea parana, from the states of Tocantins, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo; C. schneirlai and C. alacris from the state of Pará; C. dea (Buckup & Marques, 2006) and C. rioensis (Levi, 1963) from Pará and Minas Gerais, C. jequirituba (Levi, 1963) from Minas Gerais and C. benivia from São Paulo.

Nineteen genera and 153 species are listed for this region. An identification key for genera, information about most recent revisions, short descriptions, notes on geographical distribution, and comments are provided.

A new species of Mimosa is described from the Atlantic Rainforest and ecotone with the Cerrado of southeastern Brazil, in the states of Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo: M. porrecta L. Jordão, M.P. Morim & Baumgratz (Leguminosae). Related to M. sensitiva, it shares morphological affinities with this species but differs in having porrect-stellate trichomes, a new type of trichome for the genus, on the stems, and the dendritic trichomes in the fruits. The conservation status was assessed, according to IUCN criteria, as Least Concern.

Twenty-seven new species of the genus Neoxyphinus are described, all from Brazil, raising the total number of species of the genus to 48. The new species with the respective geographic distribution and known sexes are: N. capiranga sp. nov. (♂♀) from Amazonas, Pará, Mato Grosso and Rondônia; N. caprichoso sp. nov. (♂♀) and N. garantido sp. nov. (♂♀) from Amazonas and Pará; N. crasto sp. nov. (♂♀) from Bahia and Sergipe; N. murici sp. nov. (♂♀) from Alagoas and Sergipe; N. meurei sp. nov. (♂♀), N. ducke sp. nov. (♂) and N. carigoblin sp. nov. (♀) from Amazonas; N. almerim sp. nov. (♂), N. mutum sp. nov. (♂♀), N. caxiuana sp. nov. (♂♀), N. cachimbo sp. nov. (♂) and N. jacareacanga sp. nov. (♀) from Pará; N. paraty sp. nov. (♂♀) and N. rio sp. nov. (♂♀) from Rio de Janeiro; N. novalima sp. nov. (♂♀) and N. celluliticus sp. nov.
