We recently examined specimens of the Rhopalopsole from Hubei, Ningxia and Shaanxi, China and three new synonyms of Rhopalopsole sinensis Yang & Yang, 1993 are established: Rhopalopsole furcata Yang & Yang, 1994, Rhopalopsole hongpingana Sivec & Harper, 2008 and Rhopalopsole ningxiana Li & Yang, 2010 are synonymized with Rhopalopsole sinensis Yang & Yang, 1993. We also place Rhopalopsole furcospina (Wu, 1973) as a nomen dubium. Long hairs on the antennae of R. sinensis thought to be diagnostic also occur on Rhopalopsole ampulla Du & Qian, 2011, Rhopalopsole exiguspina Du & Qian, 2011, and Rhopalopsole memorabilis Qian & Du, 2014. We provide new images of several species to facilitate identification.

The collections of fungus gnats by Johan Wilhelm Zetterstedt (1785–1874), lodged in the Museum of Zoology in Lund, Sweden, are examined for all species belonging in the tribe Exechiini Edwards. The majority of the material was collected in Fennoscandia, mainly in Sweden, in the first half of the 19 th century. Altogether 37 species of the tribe Exechiini could be safely identified. Three additional species are strongly indicated to be present in the collections, but could not be identified with certainty, viz. Allodia (Brachycampta) alternans (Zetterstedt, 1838), Cordyla murina Winnertz, 1863 and Stigmatomeria crassicornis (Stannius, 1831). Some of Zetterstedt's types have been erroneously synonymized and misinterpreted in modern literature. Hence, illustrations of terminalia are presented for all recognizable Exechiini types described by Zetterstedt. In order to preserve nomenclatural stability a lectotype is selected for Brevicornu griseolum (Zetterstedt, 1852) sensu auctore nec Edwards, and a neotype is selected for Allodia (Brachycampta) alternans (Zetterstedt, 1838). Two species names are reinstated, viz. Brevicornu canescens (Zetterstedt, 1852) sp. restit. stat. n. and Notolopha brachycera (Zetterstedt, 1838) sp. restit. stat. n. Two new synonyms are established, viz. Notolopha brachycera (Zetterstedt, 1838) = Allodiopsis (Notol- opha) tuomikoskii Zaitzev & Maximova, 2000 syn. n., and Brevicornu griseolum (Zetterstedt,1852) = Brevicornu boreale (Lundström, 1914) syn. n. All type specimens of Brevicornu fusculum (Zetterstedt, 1838) have lost their abdomens. No material of Exechia parvula (Zetterstedt, 1852) or Cordyla canescens Zetterstedt, 1852 could be located in the collections. Although the type material of Exechia parvula probably is lost, the name is still valid as a junior synonym for Mycetophila nana Staeger, 1840 since Mycetophila nana Staeger, 1840 is a junior primary homonym of Mycetophila nana Macquart, 1826. Cordyla canescens has been made a junior synonym for Stigmatomeria crassicornis (Stannius, 1831). The identity of Brevicornu fusculum is highly uncertain and the name must remain as a nomen dubium. Eleven species are reinstated or correctly reported from Sweden for the first time: Allodia (Allodia) tuomikoskii Hackman, 1971, Allodia (Allodia) zaitzevi Kurina, 1998, Allodiopsis rustica (Edwards, 1941), Brevicornu canescens (Zetterstedt, 1852), Brevicornu nigrofuscum (Lundström, 1909), Exechiopsis (Xenexechia) crucigera (Lundström, 1909), Pseudexechia aurivernica Chandler, 1978, Notolopha brachycera (Zetterstedt, 1852) Synplasta gracilis (Winnertz, 1863), Tarnania dziedzickii (Edwards, 1941), and Tarnania nemoralis (Edwards, 1941).

A survey of the members of the genus Clubiona Latreille, 1904 in the Maghreb is presented. The presence of Clubiona comta C. L. Koch, 1839, C. dinienis Simon, 1878, C. leucaspis Simon, 1932, C. phragmitis C. L. Koch 1843 and C. vegeta Simon, 1918 is confirmed. Clubiona pseudosimilis Mikhailov, 1990, from the eastern Mediterranean is new to Africa and Portugal. A specimen of C. neglecta O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1862, cited from Morocco in the past, was misidentified and appears to be C. pseudoneglecta Wunderlich, 1994. The species is new to Algeria and Spain. Two new synonyms are revealed: Clubiona baborensis Denis, 1937 from Algeria = C. diniensis Simon, 1878 N. Syn. and Clubiona venusta Pavesi, 1880 from Tunisia = Selamia reticulata (Simon, 1870) N. Syn. Clubiona mandibularis Lucas, 1846 is considered a Nomen dubium. The comta group is redefined and the “genevensis subgroup” is elevated to species group, including two subgroups. A key and illustrations to the species of the genevensis group are presented and all the species occurring in the Maghreb are illustrated.

In the context of the preparation of Part of the List of Available Names of the family group taxa of the superfamily Aphidoidea for submission to the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature new synonyms have been detected and several nomenclatural problems have been clarified. Three new objective synonymies are established: Drepanosiphoninae Börner, 1944 syn. nov. of Drepanosiphinae Herrich-Schaeffer, 1857, Macrosiphonini Börner, 1952 syn. nov. of Macrosiphini Wilson, 1910 and Trichosiphonini Börner & Heinze, 1957 syn. nov. of Trichosiphini Wilson, 1910. A subjective synonymy is established: Asiphonaphidina Börner, 1952 syn. nov. of Rhopalosiphina Mordvilko, 1914. Dasiina van der Goot, 1918 is an objective invalid name, and it must be replaced, if is necessary by Baizongiina Börner, 1944(1914). Nomenclatural status affecting the names Tetraneuriden, Tycheinae, Pteroclorini and Macrosiphini are clarified: Tetraneuriden is an available name, it is a valid name in some classifications but a junior subjective synonym in others; Tycheinae is an available name but it is a nomen dubium; Pteroclorini is an available but objective invalid name; and Macrosiphini Wilson, 1910(1887) takes the date of Nectarophorini Oestlund, 1887. Also the authorship and date of nomenclatural acts in the chapter on Aphids in the Handbuch der Pflanzenkrankheiten, 1932, are clarified.

Four new species of the tribe Clytrini Kirby, 1837, Labidostomis bcharrensis sp. nov. (Lebanon), Tituboea friedmani sp. nov. (Israel), Tituboea harteni sp. nov. (United Arab Emirates) and Tituboea radeki sp. nov. (Yemen, Oman), and the formerly unknown females of Labidostomis damavandensis Rapilly, 1984 and Saudiclytra wittmeri Medvedev, 1979 are described. The following new synonyms are proposed: Coptocephala coptocephaloides (Lacordaire, 1848) = Coptocephala furthi Medvedev, 1992 syn. nov., Labidostomis rufa (Waltl, 1838) = Labidostomis rufa (Lacordaire, 1848) syn. nov., Tituboea olivieri (Lacordaire, 1848) = Tituboea femoralis Medvedev, 1962 syn. nov., Saudiclytra wittmeri (Medvedev, 1979) = Saudiclytra spinifemorata Medvedev, El Torkey & Al Dhafer, 2014 syn. nov. A neotype is designated for Clythra (Tituboea) olivieri Lacordaire, 1848. Tituboea decemguttata Walker, 1871 is considered as nomen dubium. The variability of the elytral pattern of Afrophthalma arabica (Bryant, 1957) is delimited. New country records and comments on distribution of Clytrini species from the eastern Mediterranean, the Near East and the Arabian Peninsula are presented.

Indian species in the castianeirine genus Castianeira Keyserling, 1879 (Corinnidae) are partly revised based on type materials deposited in the National Zoological Collection, Zoological Survey of India, Kolkata. Two new synonyms are recognized: Castianeira himalayensis Gravely, 1931 syn. nov. is synonymised with Corinnomma severum (Thorell, 1877), and Castianeira bengalensis Biswas, 1984 syn. nov. with the liocranid species Oedignatha scrobiculata Thorell, 1881. Castianeira albopicta Gravely, 1931 is considered as a nomen dubium. Castianeira adhartali Gajbe, 2003 and Castianeira indica Tikader, 1981 are transferred to Oedignatha Thorell, 1881 (Liocranidae). The taxonomic status of both Castianeira tinae Patel & Patel, 1973 and Castianeira quadrimaculata Reimoser, 1934 is discussed. All the examined type materials are illustrated, and the current status of the type material of each species is discussed.

Twelve species of biting midges of the genus Atrichopogon reported by Kieffer (1912, 1916a,b, 1921, 1922) from Taiwan are redescribed, illustrated and/or interpreted. They are included in the subgenus Psilokempia Enderlein (A. myrmedon Kieffer, 1912) and in the subgenus Atrichopogon s. str. (A. argus Kieffer, 1916, A. flaviceps Kieffer, 1912, A. haemorrhoidalis Kieffer, 1921, A. insularis Kieffer, 1921, A. minimus Kieffer, 1916, A. pruinosus Kieffer, 1921 and A. ruber Kieffer, 1916). Five new synonyms are proposed for the following species: A. ruber Kieffer, 1916 (=A. formosanus Kieffer 1918), A. myrmedon Kieffer, 1922 (=A. quadrispinosus Remm, 1993; =A. pectinacaudalis Yu & Yan, 2006), A. insularis Kieffer, 1921 (=A. citrinipes Kieffer, 1922) and A. flaviceps Kieffer, 1912 (=A. mendax Kieffer, 1922, as var. of A. flaviceps). Atrichopogon crispantis Liu, Yan & Liu, 1996 is resurrected from synonymy with A. insularis Kieffer, 1921. Atrichopogon rufescens Kieffer, 1921 is recognized as a nomen dubium, while A. atriceps mentioned by Blech & Rohlfien (1987) is considered a nomen nudum. A key to the species described by Kieffer from Taiwan is provided.

Nineteen species are recognized in the Iteaphila macquarti group, including ten new species (I. bulbosa Sinclair sp.nov. (British Columbia, Canada), I. californica Sinclair sp. nov. (Baja California, Mexico), I. chvalai Shamshev sp.nov. (Kazakhstan), I. cirrata Shamshev sp. nov. (British Columbia, Canada), I. falcata Sinclair sp. nov. (BritishColumbia, Canada), I. furcata (Zetterstedt), I. macquarti Zetterstedt, I. napaea Melander, I. nepalensis Shamshev sp.nov. (Nepal), I. nitidula Zetterstedt, I. orchestris Melander, I. pumila Sinclair sp. nov. (Alaska, USA), I. rasnitsyniShamshev sp. nov. (south Primorsk Territory, Russia), I. saigusai Shamshev sp. nov. (Nagano, Japan), I. sicamousSinclair sp. nov. (British Columbia, Canada), I. taiwanensis Shamshev sp. nov. (Taiwan), I. testacea Melander, I.triangula (Coquillett), I. vetula Melander). Iteaphila maackii Loew is considered a nomen dubium due to loss ofholotype. Empis luctosa Kirby is considered also a nomen dubium and proposed as a doubtful species of Iteaphila. Thefollowing new synonyms are proposed: (Empis cormus Walker, I. cana Melander, I. fulginosa Melander) = I.macquarti; (Hilara carbonella Zetterstedt, Empis conjuncta Coquillett) = I. nitidula. Lectotypes are designated for I.furcata, I. cana, I. carbonella (Zetterstedt), I. conjuncta, I. orchestris, I. testacea and I. triangula. The male of I.testacea is described for the first time, keys to Palearctic and Nearctic faunas are provided, and species are sorted intofive monophyletic subgroups. The distributions of all species are mapped and five Holarctic species are identified (I.cirrata, I. macquarti, I. nitidula, I. orchestris, I. pumila). Iteaphila is recorded for the first time from the OrientalRegion. Feeding habits for adult Iteaphila are summarized and reviewed, and the genus appears to be exclusively anthophilous (pollen feeding) and never predaceous.

The species of Eupelmus (Eupelmus) Dalman and Eupelmus (Episolindelia) Girault (Chalcidoidea: Eupelmidae) in North America north of Mexico are revised. Illustrated keys are given to differentiate the three subgenera of Eupelmus and females and known males of 19 recognized species of E. (Eupelmus) and E. (Episolindelia). Five species are classified in E. (Episolindelia), including the three newly described species E. (Episolindelia) fuscipectus n. sp., E. (Episolindelia) grisselli n. sp., and E. (Episolindelia) varicauda n. sp., which are based only on females. Eupelmus rubicola (Ashmead), described originally from a unique male, is tentatively associated with females and is classified as E. (Episolindelia) rubicola n. stat. based on this association. Fourteen species are classified in E. (Eupelmus), including the four newly described species E. (Eupelmus) arizonensis n. sp., E. (Eupelmus) curticinctus n. sp., E. (Eupelmus) nitifrons n. sp., and E. (Eupelmus) pervius n. sp. Two Palaearctic species, E. (Eupelmus) stramineipes Nikol’skaya and E. (Eupelmus) microzonus Förster, are newly recorded from North America. Newly placed in synonymy under E. microzonus is E. (Eupelmus) insulae Masi n. syn. It is further suggested that E. (Eupelmus) nigricauda Nikol’skaya likely is also a junior synonym of E. microzonus. Information is also given on the identity of the Palaearctic names E. (Eupelmus) afer Silvestri, E. (Eupel- mus) martellii Masi, E. (Eupelmus) nubilipennis Förster, E. (Eupelmus) spongipartus Förster, and E. (Eupelmus) urozonus Dalman. A lectotype is designated for E. (Eupelmus) pini Taylor and under this name are placed in synonymy the Palaearctic names E. aloysii Russo n. syn., E. carinifrons Yang n. syn., E. sculpturatus Nikol’skaya n. syn., and Eupelmus suecicus Hedqvist n. syn. Four other new synonyms made are Eupelmus amicus Girault under E. (Eupelmus) cushmani(Crawford) n. syn., Eupelmus ficigerae (Ashmead) under E. (Eupelmus) dryorhizoxeni Ashmead n. syn., Eupelmus momphae Gahan under E. (Eupelmus) cyaniceps Ashmead n. syn., and Eupelmus quercus under E. (Eupelmus) cynipidis Ashmead n. syn. The subspecies Eupelmus cyaniceps scolyti Liao, described originally from China, is treated as E. (Eupelmus) scolyti Liao n. stat. and compared to E. (Eupelmus) formosae Ashmead. Eupelmus floridanus Howard is treated as a nomen dubium and the following 20 species are newly transferred from Eupelmus to other genera — Anastatus (Anastatus) ashmeadi (Melander & Brues) n. comb., Brasema aurata (Ashmead) n. comb., Brasema barda (Girault) n. comb., Brasema brevicauda (Crawford) n. comb., Brasema bruchivora (Crawford) n. comb., Brasema coccidis (Girault) n. comb., Brasema dryophantae (Ashmead) n. comb., Brasema flavovariegata (Ashmead) n. comb., Brasema fonteia (Walker) n. comb., Brasema juglandis (Ashmead) n. comb., Brasema lamachus (Walker) n. comb., Brasema limneriae (Howard) n. comb., Brasema macrocarpae (Ashmead) n. comb., Brasema neococcidis (Peck) n. comb., Brasema neomexicana (Girault) n. comb., Brasema rosae (Ashmead) n. comb., Brasema speciosa (Girault) n. comb., Brasema sphaericephalus (Ashmead) n. comb., Reikosiella (Reikosiella) biguttata (Girault) n. comb., and R. (Reikosiel- la) charitopoides (Girault) n. comb.

The Palearctic species of Macroglenes Westwood (Hymenoptera: Pteromalidae) are revised. A brief diagnosis is given for each species and distribution and hosts are summarized. Twenty species are regarded as valid, including eight described as new: M. caudatus sp. nov., M. gibsoni sp. nov., M. hokkaidensis sp. nov., M. incisiclypeatus sp. nov., M. japonicus sp. nov., M. noyesi sp. nov., M. samurai sp. nov., and M. zdeneki sp. nov. Macroglenes nigroclypeatus Amerling & Kirchner, 1860 is treated as nomen dubium. Stenophrus Förster is regarded as a synonym of Macroglenes Westwood, syn. nov. Consequently, Calypso Haliday and Euryophrys Förster are treated as synonyms of Macroglenes Westwood, syn. nov. Another two new synonyms and two new combinations are proposed: M. chalybeus Haliday = M. rasnitsyni (Dzhanokmen), syn. nov., M. penetrans (Kirby) = M. decipiens (Graham), syn. nov., Stenophrus compressus Förster = Macroglenes compressus (Förster), comb. nov., and Pirene yuasai Ishii = Macroglenes yuasai (Ishii), comb. nov. New distributional data are given for eight species. The association between M. gramineus (Haliday) and Contarinia tritici (Kirby) (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) is published for the first time, as well as several parasitoid-plant associations.
