Network society and the new forms of engagementThe popularization of the Internet in the 1990s marked the beginning of socio-cultural changes that have led to the creation of the network society. Networking has covered many spheres – social, cultural, political and economic. Along with social changes, new problems and risks associated with new technologies have emerged. It provoked the beginning of networked social movements, which regained technological tools in a subversive way, using an insect-type of attack, based on the structure of the swarm. One form of such an attack are subversive hacktivist actions, which have a deep performative character. Perhaps it is because of this extraordinary performative potential that the network, along with the new ways of communication, have become a source of tools, both in the artistic and social field. Społeczeństwo sieci a nowe formy zaangażowaniaSpopularyzowanie w latach 90. ubiegłego wieku internetu zapoczątkowało przemiany społeczno-kulturowe, które doprowadziły do powstania społeczeństwa sieciowego. Usieciowienie objęło wiele sfer – społeczną, kulturową, polityczną i ekonomiczną.

Stereotypical perceptions of Roma people as those who like to walk along forest paths to camps, or stories about Gypsy fairies with crystal balls have nothing in common with such trendy and contemporary terms as new technologies. How can one imagine a stereotypical Roma who loves horses and campfires surfing the Internet? How do we discuss changes in men-women relations in the context of a patriarchal community in which women have no right to express their opinions and are literally captive? Undoubtedly, a lack of knowledge about Roma people, and with often the only alternative in the form of stereotypical information excludes them from the discussion on cultural changes related to technological development. At the same time media, including the Internet, are important not only in the context of activism of Roma leaders and organizations, but also with reference to people who want to fight against the negative image of Roma people in public space, regardless of membership or lack of membership in Roma organizations.

Social movements are interested in the creation of alternative social practices, but must rely upon previous ideas and actions for a starting place. Ideally, anarchists seek to borrow good ideas and avoid bad ideas. This is challenging given anarchist movements’ horizontalist structures—tactics and organizational forms must be transmitted non-hierarchically in order to remain legitimate, as there is not central organization managing, authorizing, and dictating to new anarchist organizations. They key means for institutional isomorphism—how organizations tend to have comparable characteristics—with anarchist movements, is mimicry. This chapter analyses the creation and founding iterations of four “anarchistic franchise organizations”: Anti-Racist Action, Critical Mass, Earth First!, and Food Not Bombs. These tactics and organizational forms have spread through networks of activists and organizers (mainly via word-of-mouth and first-hand experience) and media (especially the Internet, as well as activist press and sometimes mainstream media).

Palavras-chave: Políticas públicas; sociedade em rede; agenda sistêmica e formalPUBLIC POLICIES IN NETWORK SOCIETY: new spaces of intermediation in midiatic arenaAbstract: This paper proposes a brief reflection on the new spaces of intermediation that the expansion of the networksociety allows the subjects of public policy. In the shift from book to screen culture, the production and transmission of culture, and its literary and artistic manifestations, have changed.  With the emergence of new technologies, these literary and artistic works are meant to be read or experienced using the Internet; yet, there is a lack of bibliographical, or other substantial listing, to preserve these works.  This article considers the attempt of the NT2 Laboratory to fill this void through the creation of the Hypermedia Art and Literature Directory, which aims to promote studying, reading, creating and archiving new forms of text and works in hypermedia.

The article deals with Manuel Castells’ theory of network society, corrected and updated according to the new events happened during the last 10 years. The author of the theory registers the major signals of the changing processes in the modern society, happening due to the expansion of networks in the age of technological innovations. Сhanges affected the global economy, finance, structure of labor, migration, the velocity , role and individual's perception of time. An unprecedented increase of urbanization in the world happened as well. The society became multiethnic. The network structure of the society leads to the uprise of a fundamentally new form of communication called mass selfcommunications. The launched process reduces the elitist role of the official issuer of information i.e. the information flows going vertically, and increases the importance of information published in open spaces on the Internet by individuals i.e. information flows going horizontally from individuals to individuals. New technologies let any individual create its own informational system using the Internet and mobile communication tools. Despite the appearance of mass self-communications in an atmosphere of high social instability, this form of communication turns up to be an effective tool in the matrix of social interaction in the Internet. An accelerated growth in number of mass self-communications’ users is being registered due to the revolutionary changes in the field of communication technologies which made wireless mobile communication devices able to stay connected to the Internet almost continuously. Wireless communication becomes the dominant form of communication in the world, being the fastest-spreading communication technology in history. In this regard the role and form of issue of information in mass-media changes. Synergy between mass-communication and all other forms of communication appeared. The result of this process is the emergence of a radically new culture of communication in modern society.

ABSTRACT: The aim is to analyze the technological way of access to justice, adequate for the current stage of the network society, after the outbreak of the Internet as a tool for live dissemination, production and sharing. At work, the creation of these platforms provided their electronic intermediation. This scenario - on the issue of access to justice and in those involving such intermediation, arising from rapidly growing information and communication technologies (NICT) - has given rise to socially relevant conflicts involving a universe of people, that must be mapped to create efficient forms of prevention and solution, avoiding more injustices.
