The etymology of the Russian dialectal lexeme aнчуткаThe article deals with the etymological analysis of Russ. dial. анчýтка 'devil, demon; Antichrist; hobgoblin, water-sprite, familiar, sylvan; trollop; poor person; pickle; curse'. The precondition is made, that it reflects multipartite derivative: prefix Russ. на-+ radix Russ. чуд- [with secondary -m- (phonetic recording) instead of etymological -д-] + suff. -ка → *начудкa. Being based on the made lexeme analysis, Russ. dial. анчýтка is explained as primordially Russian (!!!) word, which contrarily V. N. Toporov's hypothesis by no means could be compared with the water space birds names. Due to such decision it can not be explained as Baltism either. By virtue of it, determination of the Protobaltic tribes presumptive borders of their residing territory in Russia, according to areal distribution of the word, is not possible.

SUMMARYEight mature female sheep were offered a ration which maintained body weight constant during a 20-week period. During the final 10 weeks a comparison was made in each animal of the pattern of equilibration and urinary losses of tritiated water during 8 h after dosing by four different routes. These were intravenous, intraperitoneal, intraruminal and a combination of the intraperitoneal and intraruminal routes. Tritiated water spaces were calculated from (a) the 8-h plasma specific activity and (b) by extrapolation to zero time of the plasma specific activities during the 7 days after injection. At the end of the experiment the fat and water contents of the bodies of the sheep were determined directly.Complete equilibration of tritiated water between plasma and rumen water was not achieved in all animals 8 h after intravenous or intraperitoneal injection but was when the rumen was primed by the combination of intraperitoneal and intraruminal dosing. After intraruminal dosing equilibration was not achieved in any animal within 8 h of dosing.Urinary losses of marker were lower after intraruminal dosing but otherwise averaged 4–5 % of the dose/1 urine. This was equivalent to 0·3–6·7% of the dose for individual sheep.Errors resulting from incomplete equilibration and urinary loss of marker did not influence the efficiency of prediction of total body water from tritiated water space. The multiple correlation coefficient relating body fat with empty body weight and its water content was very high (r = 0·99). Errors introduced into this relationship by the inclusion of gut water in the prediction equations were apparently of a similar magnitude to those resulting from the errors in the estimation of tritiated water space. The extrapolation method for the determination of tritiated water space was shown to have the same accuracy as equilibration techniques under these controlled dietary conditions.

Abstract The colorimetric glucose-oxidase and the Somogyi-Nelson reducing-sugar methods yield the same blood-glucose values when applied to carefully prepared zinc hydroxide filtrates of blood obtained from fasting individuals. The anthrone method yields values only slightly higher than those obtained by the enzymic and the reducing-sugar methods. Use of the enzymic method in conjunction with the reducing-sugar or the carbohydrate method allows the simultaneous accurate determination of other carbohydrates added to the blood, with only microquantities of blood being required for analysis. Possible applications include the galactose and fructose tolerance tests, the inulin clearance test, and the determination of the body water "space" of various carbohydrates. To allow valid glucose determinations by the enzymic method, glutathione, cysteine, and amylase substrates such as glycogen must be absent. The anthrone reaction with glucose is enhanced by chloride, bromide, and iodide. To eliminate interference of chloride with estimation of blood glucose, the samples must be diluted appropriately before analysis.

Water space, tritiated water flux, drinking and urine flow rates of the brown trout were decreased by increasing the environmental calcium concentration. Diffusional and osmotic permeabilities were identical in fresh water. This suggests that water flow across the gill occurs entirely by diffusion. Previous suggestions of a discrepancy between the two permeabilities in freshwater teleosts could have been due to an overestimation of urine flow rate upon which the determination of osmotic permeability coefficient is based. The wide-ranging effects of calcium on hydro-mineral regulation suggests that the ion interacts with the gills.

Promulgation of Law Number 5 of 1960, brought its own consequences in terms of regulation of agrarian resources, including earth, water, space and natural resources contained therein. The ideals of the law in the realization of the objectives of the national agrarian law are realized in the form of the Agrarian Reform policy which is one of the ideals in the administration of President Joko Widodo. This policy was stated in the Decree of the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia Number IX / MPR / 2001 concerning Agrarian Reform and Natural Resource Management and followed up with the issuance of Presidential Regulation Number 86 of 2018 concerning Agrarian Reform. The Presidential Regulation regulates the determination of assets in the legalization of agrarian reform land object certificates. However, the problem is that it is feared that disputes and agrarian conflicts will arise in the right of recognition of the existence of communal rights for indigenous and tribal peoples explicitly mentioned in Ministerial Regulation ATR / Ka.BPN Number 10 of 2016, which seems to be no longer recognized by indigenous peoples in Indonesia. This paper is a legal research that uses the method of the statutory approach and conceptual approach that examines the recognition and use of customary land by using the norms contained in legislation. The results of this paper are directed to be able to provide clarity of legalization of customary community land as well as communal rights of indigenous and tribal peoples related to the issuance of Presidential Regulation Number 86 of 2018 which does not expressly state the position of indigenous peoples as the subject of policy arrangement on Agrarian Reform assets, so that the rights owned by marga indigenous and tribal peoples can be fought for.

It is now possible to determine proper motions of high-velocity objects in such a way as to obtain with some accuracy the velocity vector relevant to the Sun. If a potential field of the Galaxy is assumed, one can compute an actual orbit. A determination of the velocity of the globular clusterωCentauri has recently been completed at Greenwich, and it is found that the orbit is strongly retrograde in the Galaxy. Similar calculations may be made, though with less certainty, in the case of RR Lyrae variable stars.

Using the new reductions of the IUE light curves by Sonneborn et al. (1997) and an extensive set of HST images of SN 1987A we have repeated and improved Panagia et al. (1991) analysis to obtain a better determination of the distance to the supernova. In this way we have derived an absolute size of the ringRabs= (6.23 ± 0.08) x 1017cm and an angular sizeR″ = 808 ± 17 mas, which give a distance to the supernovad(SN1987A) = 51.4 ± 1.2 kpc and a distance modulusm–M(SN1987A) = 18.55 ± 0.05. Allowing for a displacement of SN 1987A position relative to the LMC center, the distance to the barycenter of the Large Magellanic Cloud is also estimated to bed(LMC) = 52.0±1.3 kpc, which corresponds to a distance modulus ofm–M(LMC) = 18.58±0.05.

A symposium on the future of the International Latitude Service (I. L. S.) is to be held in Helsinki in July 1960. My report for the symposium consists of two parts. Part I, denoded (Mk I) was published [1] earlier in 1960 under the title “Latitude and Longitude, and the Secular Motion of the Pole”. Part II is the present paper, denoded (Mk II).
