Many tools have been developed to control different devices from a remote location with the advancement in science and technology. These tools enable the control of the devices automatically without any physical contact with the switches. The purpose of the paper is to design Internet of Things (IoT) based prototype and implement high security system with smart controlling of the appliances of the home in an automated way. For this we use fingerprint sensor for authentication, Voice controlled system and Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) sensor for controlling the home appliances and a Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) technology is used to alert the owner in case of authentication failure.

Recent advances in smartphones and affordable open-source hardware platforms have enabled the development of low-cost architectures for Internet-of-Things (IoT)-enabled home automation and security systems. These systems usually consist of sensing and actuating layer that is made up of sensors such as passive infrared sensors, also known as motion sensors; temperature sensors; smoke sensors, and web cameras for security surveillance. These sensors, smart electrical appliances, and other IoT devices connect to the Internet through a home gateway. This project is based on implementation of an IoT based home security system, to be able to control entrance from anywhere in the world is the major aim of this project and at same time it should be secured, and this was achieved with the use of Internet of things and some other electronics components. An automatic door control system working through a mobile app and also through a keypad was achieved. IoT refers to the infrastructure of connected physical devices which is growing at a rapid rate as a huge number of devices and objects are getting associated with the Internet. Home security is a very useful application of IoT and we are using it to create an inexpensive security system for homes as well as industrial use.

In this proposed work, we are going to connect home appliances to user mobile so that they can handle their appliances by remote distances. Smart home and artificial technology are the trending technology which is developing rapidly. This smart home product improves the quality of living for occupants. In this system, we explore full home control or home automation by using GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication). User home appliances such as LED bulb, air conditioner etc. is controlled by GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) modem via SMS (Short Message Services) text message is presented in this paper. In this project, we are using AI (Artificial Intelligence) to operate devices. AI (Artificial Intelligence) is relatively a new idea that is easily accessible today by anyone who has access to a computer or a smartphone. This (Artificial Intelligence) also becoming a powerful presence in technology, has been swiftly dominating the home automation market. This allows us to integrate smart solutions into our everyday tasks. In this work, we are going to execute a continuous process to home appliances control system without any supervisor and later it will co-ordinate appliances and other devices through Short Message Service using GSM(Global System for Mobile Communication) and AI(Artificial Intelligence)

Objects can easily be remotely sensed, monitored and controlled when home is automated using the Internet of Things (IoT); this will give room for direct integration of the real world into computerized systems. Energy consumption is defined as the degree of the amount of power expended by a given load in an electric circuit. Nowadays, inefficient techniques used in monitoring and control of power consuming devices has contributed immensely in the high rate of power consumption in our homes, institutions, business places, and marketplaces. The design and implementation of an IoT-based home automation, energy management and smart security system has been proposed in this paper. The components used in the development of the system unit include an ESP8266 Wi-Fi component and the universal Arduino imbedded controller. The proposed scheme is aimed at assisting and supporting an efficient usage of power, and by doing so, power consumption as well as the risk of fire outbreaks will be greatly reduced to the barest minimal. The capability of remotely monitoring and controlling both electrical and electronic appliances via a web application is the main feature of the proposed scheme. The scheme provides better efficiency and accuracy as well as economic benefits.

Internet of Things (IoT) offers incipient and exhilarating opportunities to increment the connectivity of contrivances within the abode for the purport of home automation. Mobile contrivances are ideal in providing a utilizer Interface in a habitation Automation system, due to their portability and their wide range of capabilities. The main purpose of this paper is to design and implement an efficient home security system. Using IoT controlling and automating the entrance of house through an easy manageable interface and cloud can be used as database of the information collected. The proposed work consists of the home security with real time access and control via mobile phone and Arduino as control unit. A security system which has a webcam is deployed at the entrance of the house. This is connected to the Arduino. GSM module is used to send alert messages. Face recognition is done through EHD algorithm using MATLAB
