Recent advances in smartphones and affordable open-source hardware platforms have enabled the development of low-cost architectures for Internet-of-Things (IoT)-enabled home automation and security systems. These systems usually consist of sensing and actuating layer that is made up of sensors such as passive infrared sensors, also known as motion sensors; temperature sensors; smoke sensors, and web cameras for security surveillance. These sensors, smart electrical appliances, and other IoT devices connect to the Internet through a home gateway. This project is based on implementation of an IoT based home security system, to be able to control entrance from anywhere in the world is the major aim of this project and at same time it should be secured, and this was achieved with the use of Internet of things and some other electronics components. An automatic door control system working through a mobile app and also through a keypad was achieved. IoT refers to the infrastructure of connected physical devices which is growing at a rapid rate as a huge number of devices and objects are getting associated with the Internet. Home security is a very useful application of IoT and we are using it to create an inexpensive security system for homes as well as industrial use.

This Home Automation System is based on the ESP8266 wifi module. With the help of this project the electrical loads can be controlled using your android cell phone. For this project we have to connect ESP8266 Wi-fi module and cell phone with the same WIFI network. This project can be used at homes, offices, colleges, universities, and so on. For the Worldwide control system, we can use the Nodemcu ESP8266 Wifi Module. This system is very convenient and economical to use. Major components used in it are: esp8266 wifi modulerelays. With this internet of things we can control four home appliances from the Blynk app, we can also use manual switches to control the appliances with or without internet and we can also monitor real-time feedback. So this is very useful to make our devices smart .In this project we have used four channel relay. In this project we have controlled AC appliances like Lights etc. In this project we used IFTTT with the help of ifttt we can connect all of our apps and devices.

Internet of things (IoT) is in increasing demand in our daily life. This is the technology that transforms the real-time system into the virtual system and makes the communication in between machines. The rapid growth of IoT can be easily noticed in industries like home automation, transport, robotics, environment, energy, water domain etc. The IoT is a technological revolution that represents the future of computing and communications, and its development depends on dynamic technical innovation in a number of important fields, from wireless sensors to nanotechnology. They are going to tag each object for identifying, automating, monitoring and controlling. The aim of this paper is to give an overview of introduction, history, architecture, real-time application, challenges and future aspects of IoT along with statistics and its application in monitoring for future.

Floods are responsible for a high number of human and material losses every year. Monitoring of river levels is usually performed with radar and pre-configured sensors. However, a major flood can occur quickly. This justifies the implementation of a real-time monitoring system. This work presents a hardware and software platform that uses Internet of Things (IoTFlood) to generate flood alerts to agencies responsible for monitoring by sending automatic messages about the situation of rivers. Research design involved laboratory and field scenarios, simulating floods using mockups, and later tested on the Mundaú River, state of Alagoas, Brazil, where flooding episodes have already occurred. As a result, a low-cost, modular and scalable IoT platform was achieved, where sensor data can be accessed through a web interface or smartphone, without the need for existing infrastructure at the site where the IOTFlood solution was installed using affordable hardware, open source software and free online services for the viewing of collected data.

Many tools have been developed to control different devices from a remote location with the advancement in science and technology. These tools enable the control of the devices automatically without any physical contact with the switches. The purpose of the paper is to design Internet of Things (IoT) based prototype and implement high security system with smart controlling of the appliances of the home in an automated way. For this we use fingerprint sensor for authentication, Voice controlled system and Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) sensor for controlling the home appliances and a Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) technology is used to alert the owner in case of authentication failure.
