This study investigates a novel method for roller bearing fault diagnosis based on local characteristic-scale decomposition (LCD) energy entropy, together with a support vector machine designed using an Artificial Chemical Reaction Optimisation Algorithm, referred to as an ACROA-SVM. First, the original acceleration vibration signals are decomposed into intrinsic scale components (ISCs). Second, the concept of LCD energy entropy is introduced. Third, the energy features extracted from a number of ISCs that contain the most dominant fault information serve as input vectors for the support vector machine classifier. Finally, the ACROA-SVM classifier is proposed to recognize the faulty roller bearing pattern. The analysis of roller bearing signals with inner-race and outer-race faults shows that the diagnostic approach based on the ACROA-SVM and using LCD to extract the energy levels of the various frequency bands as features can identify roller bearing fault patterns accurately and effectively. The proposed method is superior to approaches based on Empirical Mode Decomposition method and requires less time.

The parameter optimization is the key to study of support vector machine (SVM). With strong global search capability of bacterial foraging algorithm(BFA), the optimization method—support vector machine parameters optimization based on bacterial foraging algorithm was proposed, which can achieve the dynamic optimization of the parametersCandγ,and overcomes the problem of inefficiency for selecting reasonable parameters according to the experience in the traditional fault diagnosis. Compared with other methods, the BFA is simpler and easier for programming, and the optimization SVM model become smaller. The rolling bearing fault diagnosis results show that bacterial foraging algorithm is suitable for support vector machine parameter optimization.

The condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of power transformers plays a significant role in the safe, stable and reliable operation of the whole power system. Dissolved gas analysis (DGA) methods are widely used for fault diagnosis, however, their accuracy is limited by the selection of DGA features and the performance of fault diagnosis models, for example, the classical support vector machine (SVM), is easily affected by unbalanced training samples. This paper presents a transformer fault diagnosis model based on chemical reaction optimization and a twin support vector machine. Twin support vector machines (TWSVMs) are used as classifiers for solving problems involving unbalanced and insufficient samples. Restricted Boltzmann machines (RBMs) are used for data preprocessing to ensure the effective identification of feature parameters and improve the efficiency and accuracy of fault diagnosis. The chemical reaction optimization (CRO) algorithm is used to optimize TWSVM parameters to select the optimal training parameters. The cross-validation (CV) method is used to ensure the reliability and generalization ability of the diagnostic model. Finally, the validity of the model is verified using real fault samples and random testing.

Based on pattern spectrum entropy and proximal support vector machine (PSVM), a motor rolling bearing fault diagnosis method is proposed in this paper. It is very difficult to filter the fault vibration signals from the strong noise background because the roller bearing fault diagnosis is a problem of multi-class classification of inner ring fault, outer ring fault and ball fault. Firstly, vibration signals are processed by the pattern spectrum. Secondly, the morphological pattern spectrum entropy, and pattern spectrum values are utilized to identify the fault features of input parameters of PSVM classifiers. The experiment results demonstrate that the pattern spectrum quantifies various aspects of the shape-size content of a signal, and PSVM costs a little time and has better efficiency than the standard SVM.

Background: In order to improve the efficiency of fault treatment of mining motor, the method of model construction is used to construct the type of kernel function based on the principle of vector machine classification and the optimization method of parameters. Methodology: One-to-many algorithm is used to establish two kinds of support vector machine models for fault diagnosis of motor rotor of crusher. One of them is to obtain the optimal parameters C and g based on the input samples of the instantaneous power fault characteristic data of some motor rotors which have not been processed by rough sets. Patents on machine learning have also shows their practical usefulness in the selction of the feature for fault detection. Results: The results show that the instantaneous power fault feature extracted from the rotor of the crusher motor is obtained by the cross validation method of grid search k-weights (where k is 3) and the final data of the applied Gauss radial basis penalty parameter C and the nuclear parameter g are obtained. Conclusion: The model established by the optimal parameters is used to classify and diagnose the sample of instantaneous power fault characteristic measurement of motor rotor. Therefore, the classification accuracy of the sample data processed by rough set is higher.
