The technology acceptance model (TAM) has been regarded as a promising model for understanding technology adoption and can be extended to different situations. Currently, mobile payment services have been widely applied in people’s daily lives in China, and understanding their critical success factors is becoming important. Mobile payments are a complex system, and a large number of factors affect their success. Since mobile payments are directly related to financial issues, their wide adoption relies heavily on people’s trust. We developed a model based on the TAM to investigate the most influential factors in building trust within the mobile payment context. We conducted an empirical survey and 373 samples were collected using a valid questionnaire from the users of the popular payment platforms in China—Alipay and WeChat payment. We found that government monitoring is the most significant factor of customer trust, followed by reputation, and security. Government monitoring directly influenced behavioral intention, was negatively associated with perceived risk and positively affected behavioral intention. Moreover, mobility, subjective norms, usefulness, ease of use, and perceived enjoyment impacts customer behavioral intention.

Introduction. The development of mobile payment in Indonesia is increased, especially by the emergence of the two biggest electronic payments, such as Go-Pay and Ovo, which aggressively offer various interesting offers. This affects the enhancement of the use of mobile payment by the public. In the beginning, server-based electronic money services of its appearance were still small, including credit top-up and internet data, and money transfers to banks that include as a member of ATM Bersama (joint ATM). Along with the development of technology, electronic wallets begin to transform by expanding payment services, and several latest e-wallet applications have emerged. Purpose. The purpose of this research is to understand the changes in consumers’ behavior that make payments from using cash and switching to electronic wallets. Results. The results of the analysis in this study were obtained as the below: (1) Perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, perceived security, and perceived risk and trust have an influence on the intention to use e-wallet electronic application; (2) perceived ease of use and perceived risk have an influence on perceived usefulness of e-wallet user and (3) perceived ease of use, perceived risk, and perceived usefulness influence the perceived trust of e-wallet application users. Conclusions. It can be concluded that the technology acceptance model influences the user in using the electronic wallet as their transaction method since its usage can be trusted. Moreover, the benefit they got from electronic wallet (perceived usefulness) influence their trust and increase the intention of using an electronic wallet

Mobile banking services are widely adopted in developed and developing countries, while their adoption by Malaysian consumers is relatively low. The effective adoption of mobile banking mostly depends on consumers. This study’s objective was to examine the factors that influence Malaysian customers’ behavioral intention toward mobile banking. A detailed literature review was conducted in order to identify the critical factors that affect mobile banking users. The research model was based on the Technology Acceptance Model, investigating the additionally perceived risk. Primary data were collected from 384 generation Y bank customers. Structure equation modeling through Smart-PLS was used for data analysis. Results revealed that consumers’ behavioral intention was significantly and positively influenced by perceived usefulness and ease of use, while a significant negative relationship was found between consumers’ behavioral intention and perceived risk. The findings also revealed a mediating relationship of attitude between perceived usefulness, ease of use and risk, and behavioral intention to use mobile banking. The study provides appropriate guidelines to Malaysian banks and mobile banking application developers for the effective implementation and design of mobile banking services.

Mobile payments services represent a tremendously interesting paradox in the world of telecommunications. Although, they are convenient, quick and easy but there is not still enough evidence on how successful this practice is. In Nanjing, China, consumer intention to use mobile payment is still questionable and remains as a skeptical consideration. A survey was conducted in Nanjing, China where 612 respondents were interviewed by self-administrated survey. The modified Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) were applied in this study. To have an in depth understanding about the consumer intention to use mobile payment, it is recommended to determine the current customers’ satisfaction level by adopting the SERQUAL model. Qualitative and quantitative research with focus group will be a good approach to get a deeper understanding on the factors that influence consumer to use mobile payment services rather than others payment methods. It is also important to get more information regarding customer satisfaction towards the mobile payment platform.

This chapter is based on an empirical research study that attempts to gain an understanding of the social customers' behavior by identifying the factors that influence their decision to participate in social customer relationship management (CRM) programs. A social behavioral model (SBM) was developed in this study. The construction of the SBM was partly based on two popular models: technology acceptance model and theory of planned behavior. The data (n=305) were analyzed with exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and path analysis. Attitude, usefulness, and perceived risk are the most influential factors in SBM. Other variables—social identity, perceived ease of use, perceived behavioral control, perceived enjoyment, and satisfaction—affected intention indirectly. Subjective norm and image did not affect intention directly or indirectly; therefore, these two variables were dropped from the SBM. The resultant conceptual framework provides a stronger theoretical basis for understanding the behavioral aspect of social CRM implementation.

As the various applications of Internet and information communication technology (ICT) grow rapidly, the education and hospital institutions provide more distance learning programs, which also makes the research on e-learning more important. However, disadvantages in e-learning have been identified. Blended e-learning systems (BELSs) are considered effective alternative learning approaches. This research proposes a conceptual model to explain the factors affecting nurses’ behavioral intention to use a blended e-learning system (BELS). This research integrated perceived risk and the technology acceptance model to hypothesize a theoretical model for explaining and predicting learners’ behavioral intention to use a BELS. Self-report questionnaires were distributed to local community hospitals, regional hospitals, and medical centers in Central Taiwan. To confirm this research hypothesis, data were collected 682 nurses, with a response rate of 97.4%. Using structural equation modeling (SEM), the results show that perceived risk, perceived ease of use, and attitude influenced BELS behavioral intention. Perceived ease of use, and perceived usefulness substantially influenced use attitude. In addition, the path coefficient of perceived risk on attitude was non-significant. On the basis of the results, hospital institutions can devise better strategies for developing their blended e-learning system. <p><em>Internet in Indonesia has a very diverse usage in various aspects of life. One of them is that it can be used in economic transaction that is buying and selling online or better known as e-commerce (electronic commerce). This study aims to factors are perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived risk, attitude toward using, and behavioral intention.</em></p><p><em>This research was conducted in Kalimantan. The samples of the research were determined using non-probability sampling method in the form of purposive sampling with the requirements: the samples were at least 18 years of age and they had made purchases of goods or services through online shopping site of B2C e-commerce at least twice. The research method used was survey method through primary data collection by distributing online questionnaires through Google Docs. Data analysis was done by SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) with AMOS (Analysis of Moment Structure) 21.0 software.</em></p><p><em>The result showed that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use had positive and significant effect on attitude toward using. However, perceived risk did not have a negative and insignificant effect on attitude toward using. Perceived ease of use had a positive and significant effect on perceived usefulness. Perceived usefulness and attitude toward using positively and significantly influenced the behavioral intention of online shopping in Kalimantan. Perceived ease of use was the most dominant variable giving a direct influence on perceived usefulness, perceived usefulness gave the most dominant indirect influence on behavioral intention.</em></p>

Tech-friendliness in this new era is an important quotient considered and the persons’ acceptance towards the technology frequency matters a lot. But still the frequency varies from person to person, this brought in the concept of Technology Acceptance Model given by Fred Davis in 1989. The theory of TAM is based on two theories that are Theory of Reasoned Action and Theory of Planned Behavior, TAM is extended version of these two. Green Banking is a new technology introduced by the banks that focuses on the growth of Sustainable development and Banking system too. Thus, banks ask their customers to use it or practice it in their daily life transactions. But every customer has their own point of view on the usage of Green banking. Thus, the research aims to understand the customers’ perception towards the Green Banking for this TAM is used. The research states that Perceived risk is the primary factor that is followed by perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use that impacts the decision to use green banking. Thus, the behavioral intention results in actual use of green banking usage for which people are trying to accept the new technology. So, the banks have earned points for creating awareness among their customers but still they have to work hard and clarify their customers’ problems and vanish that hitch that is stopping them to use green banking easily.

Payments are an inherent element of economic activity (León and Ortega 2018). However, the evolution of payment instruments and the way individuals and businesses make daily payments has undergone enormous change in human history, particularly due to main innovations in payment systems in last decades (Gandhi 2016). The last innovation in payment system concerns mobile payment. The development of mobile payments market can have a positive impact on economic growth (Leon and Rodriguez 2012). Although the Polish market of mobile payments is in the initial phase of development, it is one of the pioneering and leading in Europe and globally. The main purpose of this article is to analyze, which feature (convenience, speed, availability, ease of use, safety) of mobile payments could be the most important for users from Poland.

This research extended the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with perceived trust and perceived risks (security and privacy concerns) constructs to identify the impact of these factors on Jordanian users’ intentions to adopt mobile commerce (m-commerce). An empirical test was used utilizing 132 responses from students in two public universities in Jordan. Results indicated that perceived trust, perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use are major influencers of mobile commerce adoption. On the other hand, perceived risk factors (security and privacy concerns) were not significant in this relation. Discussion, conclusion and future work are stated at the end of this paper.

This study aims to examine the effect of technological and behavioral attributes on the adoption attributes of the ShopeePay mobile payment application in Indonesia. The application is known as financial technology (fintech), which combines information technology and financial systems. The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach that was processed using SPSS and AMOS. Data collection in this research was done by distributing online questionnaires using a google form to ShopeePay users who used the application in the past month. The results of this study indicate that behavioral intention and social influence variables have an effect on actual use, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have an effect on behavioral intention, perceived ease of use and responsiveness have a positive effect on perceived usefulness, and responsiveness and security variables have a positive effect on perceived ease of use, also has a positive effect on social influence.
