The TAF epoxy asphalt concrete (EAC) is a new steel bridge deck pavement materials , the application of the TAF EAC is increasing in China. But the research for some of it's performance and construction technology is not throughly, which results in the useful life of the bridge deck paving materials greatly reducing. This paper focuses on the design and construction methods of the Japanese TAF epoxy asphalt concrete, and take the Humen bridge steel bridge deck pavement repair project in December 2011 for example.

As the problem of asphalt concrete bridge deck pavement is becoming more and more serious, how to improve its road performance has become the focus of the study. As the lack of shear strength and bond strength between layers, flaking, raveling and other diseases were occurred on steel bridge deck asphalt pavement. This paper combines the common damages of bridge deck and asphalt concrete pavement in cold area of northeast region, focuses on the analysis of the cause of asphalt concrete pavement damage causes, puts forward preventive measures and recommendations, and present the bridge deck pavement structure in cold area combined with the engineering practice. The research results can effectively guide the construction of bridge deck pavement.

The high temperature of asphalt concrete pavement decreases its bearing capacity, thus leading to serious rutting. In this paper, a coated thermal resistance/heat reflection pavement construction technology with a coating of 2-3mm on the asphalt pavement is mainly introduced, which can reflect and prevent sunshine and reduce the surface temperature of asphalt pavement for the purpose of preventing rutting. In addition, the coated thermal resistance/heat reflection paving method is introduced, which is of certain reference to the promotion and application of coated thermal resistance/heat reflection pavement.

In the construction of asphalt mixture pavement, there are many paving construction procedures, high requirements for machinery and personnel, unreasonable technology and so on. In this paper, the millimeter-scale 3D automatic paving control technology of asphalt mixture pavement is studied with an engineering example. From the analysis of the test results in the later stage of construction, it can be seen that the technology has achieved the goal of high precision paving, and the successful application of the technology provides valuable reference experience for similar asphalt concrete pavement construction in the future.

Steel bridge has the advantages of large span capacity, fast installation speed, easy transportation, easy repair and replacement, and has been widely used in practical engineering. The bridge deck pavement of the steel bridge is a crucial link in the whole building and cannot be ignored. For the long span steel bridge, the bridge deck generally has the phenomenon of fatigue cracking, and the service life is difficult to reach the expected life. Laying a multi-layered protective layer structure on the orthotropic steel bridge deck can not only protect the steel bridge deck, but also increase the service life of the bridge. It also provides support and guarantee for the safety and comfort of the bridge. In addition, it effectively reduces vibration and noise caused by driving. Firstly, the advantages and disadvantages of the three types of steel bridge deck pavement technology commonly used in China are discussed in this paper, the merits of different deck paving techniques are pointed out. Then, the construction technology of the lower cast type + SMA pavement structure is analyzed in combination with a steel bridge deck construction case and the quality standard of steel bridge surface construction mixture and the inspection requirement of SMA construction quality are given in order to provide some reference for similar projects.

Focusing on the severity of asphalt concrete pavement crack, the optimization analyzing finite element model(FEM) of typical asphalt overlay pavement was developed to address reflective cracking, in which the analysis of traffic-loading response were concentrated on the stress-intensive areas close to the joints or cracks. The FE sensitive analysis, evaluating the influence of pavement construction parameters, including modulus and thickness of pavement courses, is useful to establish comprehensive model of overlay pavement construction.
