Universal serial bus is put forward by seven corporations which are led by the Intel. It cost lowly, fast and easily expandable. USB is widely used in serial communication interface, widely used in computer peripherals and digital products. The USB protocol layer is the core unit of the USB device, which handles most of the contents of the USB protocol provides. This paper studies USB protocol layer design and implementation. Then USB protocol layer is completed based on FPGA.

This paper introduces an experiment system developed as a teaching material to support the lessons related to vibration and earthquake resistance in the fields of civil engineering and architecture. The hardware was composed of an accelerometer, a serial communication interface, an RS232-USB conversion adapter, and a computer. The virtual shaking table in a computer display was controlled by the hand-operated accelerometer. The response of the structure model with multi-degrees of freedom on the shaking table was calculated in real time. The findings were that hands-on experience in controlling the shaking table helps an instinctive understanding of vibration, especially acceleration and seismic intensity. A structure model with different dynamic characteristics can be built easily, so that the effect of properties, such as the natural period and damping constant on the structural motions, can be visualized, helping the understanding of the theory of vibration.

SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) is a full-duplex serial communication interface bus. Now, many devices adopt SPI. However, in many other aspects, microcontroller and microprocessor have no SPI interface, data transmission is inconvenient. With the development of FPGA technology, the problem can be solved absolutely by the I/O port of FPGA. In this paper, after introducing the principle of SPI, we designed SPI interface with FPGA and implemented the communication between SPI interface and the device of CRG20 which has a SPI interface. The algorithm of design SPI interface through FPGA is implemented with VHDL. The results of simulation in Quartus II and FPGA simulation are also described. The SPI bus interface modules fulfill the goal demanded.

In order to improve the management of modern large library, an automatic system is needed to arrange the books. The system uses two-dimensional code recognition technology and microcontroller control technology to achieve the efficient management of library. We choose STC89C52 chip as the core controller and the scanning module in the HR-200 laser two-dimensional code scanner as the external communication port. Data is transmitted by serial communication interface between them. By scanning the two-dimensional code on the books and shelves, we can quickly find out the books in wrong position. In this way we can enhance the efficiency of books management obviously. In comparison with the experimental results, the feasibility and rationality of the design are validated as well as the practicability of the system.

With the maturity of GPS technology and the decrease of GPS module cost, which is becoming more and more widely. This paper designed the SCT90C516 micro-computer as the control core of GPS positioning system, Consisted by GPS module, independent keys and LCD display, serial communication interface and on STC micro-computer modules. Aiming at tracking the objective in the outdoor environment. And it can be used in smart clothes, vehicle positioning and tracking to protect wild animals.

This paper presents the design of a training plate with the microcontroller PIC16F877A of the Microchip brand, which will support the internship, mainly, in the subject of Process Control with Microcontrollers of the Mechatronics Engineering career of the Industrial Maintenance and Mechatronics Academic Division from Fidel Velázquez University (UTFV). With the design of this plaque and its future construction, students and professors of the aforementioned academic area career will have a more accessible tool so that they can carry out the practices of each of the subjects covered by the signature. The board is basically composed of a direct current (CD) voltage source, the socket that mounts the PIC16F877A microcontroller, a programming and debugging module, the RS-232 and I2C serial communication interface, eight LED indicators, a matrix keypad 3x4, a buzzer, two modules with three displays of seven segments each, a 16x2 LCD screen, an H bridge, for motor control and an eight relay module.
