Applying analogies in teaching and learning can significantly improve their outcomes. It is pedagogically important to know the various factors on which depend the frequency and manner of application of analogies. Such factors include creativity. We can see the relationship between creativity and analogy from several angles. In this paper, we are dealing with the connection between self-assessment of creativity and the tendency to apply analogies in a pedagogical context. On a sample of 305 students, the Kaufman Creativity Domain Scale (K-DOCS) and inventory were applied to measure the propensity to spontaneously apply analogies. The results suggest that there is a connection between self-assessment of creativity and a tendency to apply analogies, but also that the nature of that connection is complex. The connection was registered with two areas of expression of creativity (personal-everyday and academic area), while the connection with other areas was not registered. The meaning and pedagogical significance of the obtained results were discussed.

With the advent of Industry 4.0, from 2011, it is clear that many areas had to adapt to the changes that came with the 4th Industrial Revolution. Having professionals prepared for the characteristics inherent to this new situation becomes a sine quae non for this highly connected and globalized environment. However, generations X, Y and Alpha are quite collimated with these new technologies since they are born in digital environments and have, from an early age, access to technologies. However, people from older generations, if they are not immersed and interested in the continuity of digital learning, end up becoming digitally illiterate and unable to act in technologically active environments. Thus, this article asks, do we have professionals prepared for education 4.0? In addition, it presents a flow to be adopted in any academic area aimed at applying the characteristics of education 4.0.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to analyze and map the main areas of the Circular Economy literature of the first two decades of 21st century, offering a broad vision about the growth of the theme during these years.Design/methodology/approachThe research was divided into two stages: the first was a systematic review of literature and the second consisted on generation and analysis of bibliographic maps.FindingsThe publication indicates the prominence of China and European Union countries in the production of articles about Circular Economy. Furthermore, the topic is restricted to academic area, and that research on Circular Economy is still very focused on theory studies, even with exponential growth in the number of published articles about the theme since 2015. Finally, it also provides a collection of information as the principal authors, the most cited publications, citations, co-citations and countries that have most published beyond which are the most discussed topics.Research limitations/implicationsA possible limitation of the research is that it was performed only in the Scopus database. It may be suggested as future searches that other databases are included as well, and another suggestion is to reduce the time period between research samples due to the exponential increase in the number of publications and topics discussed lately.Practical implicationsThe results of this paper can guide future researches about the development of Circular Economy during the next decades or years and serve as a facilitator for researchers and for managers that want to know more about the topic.Originality/valueA mapping of the principal players and main discussions about Circular Economy made in the first two decades of the 21st century and an analysis about the growth and changes about the theme.

A role model that supports career planning is important for authors in the academic area to improve research abilities. In this study, we discovered a role model in bibliographic networks based on two perspectives: (1) high research performance to be exemplary and (2) a similar research history that can be easily followed by authors. We assume that the year-wise subgraphs in the dynamic bibliographic network signify the ‘research history’. We discovered role models of authors in three steps: (1) learning vector representations of research history in dynamic bibliographic networks, (2) measuring the similarity of authors according to the research history and (3) visualising role models. With this process, we can recommend a reasonable role model whose research path the authors can easily follow. In addition, we verified the effectiveness of the research history embeddings and the accuracy of the recommended role model in a real data set.

The article presents a semantic analysis of the concept of inclusion, which – treated as the central category for Goal 16 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (United Nations) – requires further definition. Initially, I outline the history and etymology of the word inclusion, provide various contexts of its use in Polish common language and in the academic area, take a closer look at the word family as well as synonyms and antonyms of the term inclusion (especially exclusion). Next, I explore functions of the concept of inclusion (descriptive, explanatory, normative) and problems regarding the concept. The conclusion contains four types of referents of the term inclusion.

Enfermagem. Esterilização. Educação Continuada.   Abstract The actions performed by the assisting nurse can be decisive for the good result of a surgery or procedure, as the correct handling of sterilized materials and the knowledge of the process indicators, make the professional able to identify whether the sterilization process was effective to inhibit the growth of bacteria and viruses, as well as toxins. Therefore, the update must be permanent, as there are different sterilization methods that can better integrate the Central of Special Materials. The objective of this research was to identify the knowledge of the assisting nurses inherent to the special materials center and their orthosis and prosthesis processes, in a hospital in the northeast of Rio Grande do Sul. An exploratory-descriptive study was carried out, with a quantitative approach, whose a questionnaire was applied to 32 assisting nurses from a medium-sized hospital. The results showed that even though the respondents received information about the materials center, orthoses, prostheses and special materials, this knowledge was limited, as there was a discrepancy in the answers, generating doubts about the real science of the team. Therefore, it aggregates information in the academic area, showing weaknesses that need to be worked on in teaching, regarding the institution's assistance management, it was evident the participation of professionals in training and the flexibility of schedules as a facilitator for this. It also elucidates the importance of continuing education, because when knowledge is not absorbed properly in higher education, whether due to lack of approach or lack of discussion, it can be acquired during professional practice.   Keywords: Knowledge. Nursing. Sterilization. Continuing Education.

The purpose of the article is to emphasise the importance of the concept of empowerment in the process of individual understanding of the category of resources by the students of social rehabilitation, in the context of “creative potentials”, “life orientation”, with confrontation with persons who are marginalised, excluded, under social pressure, by stimulating their defensive abilities, capability to take a risk of stigma management, creating constructive social independence and a new quality of life. The subject of descriptive literature analysis, however, is a reflection on the shape of non-obvious social rehabilitation students’ competence in terms of their professional functioning in the area of inclusion/exclusion. The indicated dimensions of the issue determine a starting point for a pedagogical confrontation with real day-to-day influences in the contemporary academic area as well as in the context of social rehabilitation practice. The conducted analysis indicates the need to elaborate a concept of the subject which would enable future pedagogues to have a look at the “Others”, not only through the prism of their own understanding, but above all in the dialectic perspective of becoming the subject.

The review is dedicated to the monograph entitled “Suspended Sentence under Bulgarian Criminal Law” by Ralitsa Kostadinova. In the book the author has pointed her scientific research in an academic area, namely that of suspended sentence, which so far has not been subject of a thorough and in-depth scientific analysis in Bulgaria, but at the same time it is of great practical significance in particular with regard to the work of the judicial bodies. The monograph under review undoubtedly contributes to the criminal legal theory.

The use of 4C/ID-model for complex learning has increased in several distinct areas since its creation. Researches have been applied to the whole model or to adapted versions with changes, both to skills development and to increase the acquisition of knowledge. In this chapter, the authors discuss how recent review studies on the 4C/ID-model using bibliometric and meta-analysis and suggest that its use improves significantly student learning regarding the academic area.
